From the "...as predicted..." File
- North Carolina restaurant The Pit was robbed at gunpoint on Sunday. Normally, local crime stories like this wouldn't merit a Townhall post, but this one is different: The Pit has a "no weapons" sign displayed prominently on its door declaring the restaurant a gun-free zone, and bans patrons from carrying concealed weapons.
This is just the latest in a string of robberies at businesses displaying "no guns" signs:
- In the two weeks since Jack in the Box told customers they weren’t welcome inside the fast-food restaurants with their legally carried firearms, robbers carrying guns for illegal purposes have burst in to rob three of the eateries.
Just this week, four armed men held up a Houston, TX Jack in the Box, also robbing individual patrons of their personal belongings, according to police.
The two other incidents? A second in Houston, a third in Tennessee, where people were reportedly shot by gun-wielding criminals.
It's a good thing Chicago doesn't have any Jack-in-the-Box restaurants - it saves McStreetlights having to lie about the robbery rate some more.

Have to laugh at these Liberal store owners who want to pander to the gun snatchers. Serves them right. I will not patronize any business that doesn't like my right to carry a lawful weapon. Fuck them!
But at the same time by not having them we are missing out on the sourdough jack and those tacos made with some sort of meat product. Man are those things good.
Bigger signs, and written in 6 languages. That should take care of that pesky gun problem...
Jack in the box
Was if the Hamburglar?
When will liberals get a clue
DePaul Univ security has no guns either
SCC, is there any chance they'll post "We're Stupid" signs along with the "No Guns" signs?
These fucking leftist gun grabbers better not come into my home looking for guns. Or else they will have what is coming to them.
Wow... Surprise no one in the Houston location wasn't carrying... Maybe next time....
How come the criminal element is not abiding by the "no guns allowed" rules in these establishments? What's up with that?
Can't wait until it happens in the lib-tard, $25K & up, dinner with Rahm and "Him-Self" utopias of the North Shore, the Gold Coast and Hyde Park!
These people (especially "Moms Against Things" and "The Dads Who Support Them") say that vigorous self defense is both bad and wrong... It puts a low common denominator goblin in fear of bodily harm when heavy fists, hard boots and vigorously wielded firearms are used by upright and clear eyed men to protect themselves, their families and property from the predation of said goblins.
Heh... Skull Man was licking his chops when this "no guns sign" foolishness first started floating around.
Fuck these crazy people... Leave them and theirs to face Skull Man with nothing but screams for mercy on their lips, tears in their eyes and shit in their drawers...
In a just world, these liberal loons would be forced to wear bright day-glo tee shirts stenciled with "Defenseless, Unarmed & Never Had To Fight For A Damned Thing In My Life" instead of them afflicting society with their queer brand of crazy.
Coppers have to be careful when out and about anyway.... We recall an incident in NYC where some mouth breathers did a take-over robbery of a hair salon. Off duty NYPD was outed by a big mouth female customer who knew him... "You're a COP! Do SOMETHING!"
The offenders executed him on the spot...
No word on whether the big mouth female humbly presented herself to his family to apologize...
Most likely there was a lot of "He knew what it was going to be like when he signed up."
This entire shit show regarding concealed carry/self defense is crawling along AS predicted.
..."just the latest in a string of robberies at establishments displaying "No Guns" signs..."
Another reason not to patronize them. Too dangerous.
Moms Against Things is making great strides these days...these signs everywhere except on THEIR houses, which have "PROTECTED BY ADT" signs all over the lawn -- and a six-way hypersensitive microphone and night-vision camera watching Baby every microsecond.
Antipersonnel land mines are next (in fun colors) -- but "No Guns."
>sound of crickets, wind rustling the leaves<
"Hypocrites." That's the word I'm looking for.
Keep the Narcan handy...

Man steals Crown Royal from train
5:51 p.m. CDT, May 24, 2014
"A Fuller Park man allegedly stole 36 liters of Crown Royal whiskey off a parked train car Friday night and then tried to flee when police confronted him on the South Side.
"Marvin Burks, 48, faces a felony burglary charge after officers responding to a theft in progress found him coming off a train into an alley holding one box of the liquor and surrounded by four others, according to a police report. The boxes each contained 24 bottles of Crown Royal.
"Officers said Burks tried to flee on foot from the scene in the 2200 block of West 81st Place...but was quickly arrested. Burks admitted taking the Canadian whiskey from a parked CSX rail car, police said, and mentioned that he had a drug habit and planned to sell the alcohol. A police helicopter captured footage of the crime...
"Burks, of the 5200 block of South Wells Street in the Fuller Park neighborhood, appeared in bond court Saturday before Judge Maria Kuriakos Ciesil. She ordered Burks released on a signature bond with electronic monitoring..."

Maybe there was but they kept their powder dry until such time that their life was in immediate danger so as to not be put thru the hell of the ensuing cost of legal representation once they pull that trigger (even in TX) protecting someone else under the gun.
These libtard "No Gun" signs my very well keep an armed citizen on the premises from not acting;provided they themselves are not threatened, while someone else is being shot or robbed.
They do not want to get shot when an employee messes up a patron's order.
A few threads ago people were asking what to call the new generation of police, now that the "hair gels" have a few years of seniority.
I propose the "selfies."
This name fits perfectly for all of the "look at me" and "everyone deserves a trophy" coppers we have now.

Surprisingly, only about 6% of eligible people in Texas actually have a concealed carry permit. The anti-gun people really think that a law abiding person who can bass a background check and who desires to protect themselves and their families and carry concealed is a danger. This law abiding person when in a restaurant or a transit car/bus and suddenly a victim of an armed robbery or assault will shoot the place up. When I retired I worked at a major Chicago bank for a year. I was armed but told that under no circumstances should I interfere in a robbery. They were afraid of stray shots. I can see their point of view, but I just don't agree with it.

You do realize that the sign is supposed to be on all businesses with a liquor license and that the sign does not apply to police officers who are armed off duty....you do realize it doesn't affect a police officer in any way right?
This gun toting thing is complicated, especially since businesses are making rules as to who may enter armed and who may not, maybe they should have signage for no robberies,no violence,no yelling or cursing, then a study on what works and what does not!
"no weapons" no enter. survive.
From a troll: It is simple, do not patronize any business that infringes on your legal rights. If that is their policy, to infringe upon the legal rights of their customer, patronize a competitor. At 61, I walked into a gas station after filling my car and asked for a pack of toasties to be added to the purchase. The clerk wanted to see my ID. I refused. She said it is store policy and while she does not agree with it, she has to do it. I advised her I have no issue with her but I have an issue with stupid stores who do not seem to think employees they hire should be able to make decisions. It is my policy to take my business elsewhere. Same deal here. Jack in the Box. Who eats that crap anyway?
Only fire works heard here. bull shit
022nd District has a new beat floating around for out new midnight Sgt.

Remember when the joker shot up the midnight premier Batman movie? He drove past two other movie theaters prior to the slaughter. Why? They allowed concealed carry. True story! The most efficient way to stop a bad guy with a gun is with a good guy and a gun. When seconds count the police are only minutes away.
4:26 PM,
I like your style, paisan
I told my dickbag of an alderman that people who go through CCW training, 99.9% of the time, are people you'll never notice with a gun, so these signs are worthless. In a restaurant, they won't be drinking because they're carrying. And the "no baretta" sign = "rob me please". But then again, this is Chicago. I can't expect someone to think coherently at City Hall.

Excuse me, but Jules Winfield, (Samuel L. Jackson) thwarted those Bonnie & Clyde wanna-bes with an old school Colt 1911, or varient there of I believe in caliber .45 ACP.
The sign I like to see is:
"For the safety of our staff and guests one or more of our staff members my be carrying a concealed firearm."
I heard that Soldier Field scans and will not let Off Duty P.O. enter armed so screw them.
But what about Cubs and Sox Parks or the Allstate Arena?
I know that 6 Flags will not permit entry. There if you ride a roller coster and get turned upside down and the gun falls out it could hit some one. Then they would have to shut the ride down and look for a gun if it fell out. But I avoid 6 Flags anyway.
Perhaps SCC could maintain a list of P.O. Friendly and Not Friendly places.
We feel your pain 022. We have one in 016 as well.

You do realize that the sign is supposed to be on all businesses with a liquor license and that the sign does not apply to police officers who are armed off duty....you do realize it doesn't affect a police officer in any way right?

So because it doesn't pertain to police it's okay? You're the reason people can't get shit together. Learn that there are things bigger than you, little man.
A FRIEND OF MINE, OUT In Jo Davies County decided that he HAD to somehow bring attn. to business owners, how wrong these "no firearms" restrictions are…so he gathered up his "like minded" friends and spent the day going IN…and OUT of these businesses, after either ordering food or amassing a counter full of products and then on the pretense of JUST noticing signs, they all walked out, and told owners they were ALL carrying and didn't want to leave weapons elsewhere, car, truck, etc…several owners told them it would be OK this time, but they all walked out and told owners they would NOT recommend this store. This store would be blackballed on the internet by he and his friends!…At least these old timers are taking some action !
The first night?!?
I don't know this guy at all but where ever I worked when a new Sergeant came in they always rode with an experienced Sergeant the first night just to show him or her around on their first night. The same with a new Lieutenant for that matter. Still I suppose he should have asked or followed another car to the fuel depot.

This clown has been a Sgt for 15+ yrs!
My first day as a new Sgt (20 yrs ago), I was given a set of keys & a radio, hunted down a district beat map and hit the street.
As the old timers said when I came on the job, we're all 7 times 3.
Those signs are right along the lines of signs that tout that a homeowner is armed.
That's like an invitation for someone to break in and steal your guns.
The whole idea for being armed is that it's a last resort, and the card should always be played only as an ace in the hole.
Or more appropriately, the ultimate ace up your sleeve.
The clown is the guy who's still Sgt after 20 Years
Liquor stores and banks are not prohibited. Just establishments that serve liquor and make more than 50% of their revenue on liquor. Oh, and the post office.
And thanks to the cops who stand up for citizens rights by avoiding these crapholes that post no guns signs. We owe you one for the support.
Personally, I know it won't have much effect, but I'm writing letters and talking to as many business owners as possible. Just to let them know that they are negatively impacting their business by prohibiting a portion of the population that isn't prohibited by their competitors. I always find it ironic when they fall back to "we're doing it for safety", or "liability". So SO stupid.
