looks like the sgt grades are being mailed out end of July. No more new sgts to be made for the rest of 2014 and first half of 2015. first class off the new list wont even be considered until mid to late 2015... allegedly. Im sure it will be more like end of 2015 to beginning of 2016. Sgts are at current full budgeted strength which means they wont make a class until they are down at least 150 sgts. so, dont hold your breath.

Not sure about last class of old list. - but according to Sgts Assoc. They are just under their Budgeted strength. So I don't see another class coming for a while.

BS on the sgt test results coming out in July, not gonna happen till after October.
They are making one more class off old list mid August.
Because LT test is coming out in December (to be announced in October) and there is going to be no time in grade (time as sgt)requirement mentioned, just a time on job requirement.
This is so that merit made in august class (whom meets the time on job requirement) can take the LT test stay SGT a couple of years and jump on the first LTs class.

A guy from 019 did not show up on Monday. He did not turn it down so someone else could take it. He was not replaced. Another guy from the airport quit after lunch on Tuesday. He was not replaced. If this list is done then there are two people that missed out on an important life changing event. The pension increase is substantial.
So you get a sweet management spot at the airport after being a do nothing 019, only to get promoted and quit the first day because you're scared you may actually have to be the police. Way to screw over the next guy stroke
I didn't hear about this on any of the media. If I did, I would have been very proud for the CPD.
This award demonstrates there still are some role models on the CPD.
I would have liked the media to have pointed that out. Better yet, I would have liked some of the politicians to point that out on the media.
Good thing I read this blog or I would have never known about this award.

Think the news affairs unit could have gotten the word out about this? They could have put a spin on it to make mccrime fighter look like it was his idea too! They dropped the ball or something on this.
I have observed the CPD Honor Guard at many events, they are SHARP AND TIGHT!!!! it is really too too bad that the rest of us that march at St. Judes take note, we look like crap. THe CVS HIGH SCHOOL Marching Band look better, I can honestly say that MAS TRANSIT UNIT look the worst, followed up by all the districts that hate coming out for the march. Shame on all of you!! and shame on all our exempt unit heads that have to lead them at the march, Surewly somebody in your units can spend a little time to teach these sorry asses to march right.

Wrong again. The guy had already put his papers in and TOLD Human Resources (or whatever they call it) that he was retiring. The Ladner syndrome lives on.
FOP says old list is done. Test results coming in June. No more Sgts, from old list.
Human Resources stated that Sgt's list has been exhausted. The Supt. agrees with starting to promote from new test. Lt test will not come til sometime next year! Test results should come soon (June).

While ALL the other participating law enforcement Honor Guard units likewise deservedly earned their placement awards as well, our members continually match them in the important issue of... pride, service and dedication.
