- Cook County Circuit Court Clerk Dorothy Brown’s husband has been hit with a federal subpoena asking him to appear before a grand jury as part of an investigation into a state anti-violence program.
[...] It’s a sign that federal authorities, who already have requested documents from two state agencies regarding Gov. Pat Quinn’s troubled Neighborhood Recovery Initiative, are taking a closer look at Cook’s role in receiving grant money from the program.
It’s the second, ongoing probe into Cook that is also looking at how monies were dispensed from the $54 million anti-violence program.
The other is a state grand jury investigation that is in part looking at a piece of property Cook and Brown received for free from a Brown political donor, then sold for $100,000.
Two investigations? Looks like Dorothy Brown has outlived her usefulness to the Machine.

So....who can this guy throw under the bus to spare himself up to 10 years in the penitentiary? No honor among thieves and all that - this guy appears to be an outsider who hired a Chicago friend/consultant who actually ran the bribery scheme (an un-indicted co-conspirator so far) and funneled the $2 million around. Ten years is a lot of incentive even if his lawyers says he won't cooperate. And the feds don't lose these cases.

Someone was criminally responsible for that debacle.

The worker, whose name and gender have not been released, was hospitalized with flu-like symptoms on May 12, roughly 24 hours after being exposed to a patient with MERS visiting from Saudi Arabia. Another hospital worker who developed symptoms but was never hospitalized has also tested negative for the virus, officials said.
The MERS patient, who works as a health care provider in Saudi Arabia, was admitted to Dr. P. Phillips Hospital in Orlando on May 8, a week after developing symptoms of MERS mid-flight from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to London. He traveled through Boston and Atlanta before arriving in Orlando, where he visited two area hospitals.
A total of 20 hospital workers at Dr. P. Phillips Hospital and Orlando Regional Medical Center have been tested for the virus, health officials said. Test results for the remaining 18, who are in home isolation, are pending.
Health officials have also contacted an estimated 80 additional people who may have been exposed to the virus in waiting rooms at the two hospitals. The MERS patient was not wearing a mask despite his respiratory symptoms and a fever as high as 102 degrees, and did not immediately inform hospital staff that he worked at a hospital in Saudi Arabia that treated MERS patients, officials said.
Another 500 people who shared three U.S.-bound flights with the MERS patient have been contacted, health officials said on Wednesday. So far none have shown symptoms of the virus.

Lemme get this straight. In Illinois the media message is that MERS is low however in Florida health officials are running around like their hair is on fire putting 18 health care workers in home isolation and tracking down hundreds of people that came in contact with a MERS infected traveler.

I recently read that attorney Michael Shakman is saying the City no longer needs oversight on hiring because the City of Chicago can now be trusted to police itself and do hiring fairly. That is a certain sign of Shakman's increasing dementia and the upcoming apocalypse.
The City of Chicago cannot be trusted to do anything without an armada of lawyers, monitors and federal investigators watching closely and issuing indictments regularly.

It was on a Tuesday in 2008, when Blago got arrested. Grant is retired, he left in September 2008. He went to work for Disney Company.
The quote was from the press conference with Patrick Fitzgerald announcing the arrest/indictment of Blago. Before the 2008 elections and before BO was mentioned too many times on the tape.

The City buys the in-car camera setup but not the GPS module made to record geocode location directly on the video.
Instead they buy a GPS system from a totally different vendor and then the Clampett family drives around to the districts and installs the GPS out of the trunks of their cars. Class operation. Bunch of hillbillies gave us the initial GPS install. We were all told the dispatcher could see where we were at all times. Lies. Never worked like that. Software was horseshit, People who didn't want the sergeant seeing where they were never sign in to the computer and make some excuse.
More wasted millions.
Everybody who knows John Bills saw this coming he got fired from the White Sox for stealing equipment.
