Leaking Sewage Produces Infestation
Remember this?
Well, it produced this:
- Remember the piss and shit water that sat in the 1st district men's locker room for days a week or so ago, well now the building is infested with sewer flies. It is so bad in the lock up processing room that its impossible to work in there without them getting in your eyes, ears or nose. Third world conditions for sure!
Someone else had a pretty good idea:
- Sewer flies are like bee's. Capture a horde of hornets and release them in the building. They will take out the sewer flies quickly. Try leave raw meet on counter', they will feast there and the hornet' will eat them.
We're in..;purely for the entertainment value. Send pictures if it happens.

What would happen if you called 311 or slipped in the bathroom and had to call 911 if you injured yourself?
Take a look at the air filters that have N E V E R been changed. They don't care about us, never have, never will.
We have a problem again in 001. The sewer rats, as big as house cats ate a swarm of hornets eating the sewer flies.
I heard a couple swam out of the W.C.' toilet /bathroom.
Well !!! Seeing the hornets lost to the rats, I have one last thing that can get rid of the rats. Go to a garden store, high line and buy Lady-Bugs, at least 10,000 and let them fly all over. The sewer rats will re-enter the toilets and swim back to Daley' Chicago River at 29th, and Ashland.
Lady bugs bite a bit but plant sod in the lobby and all will be well.
The FOP confirmed that Dean checked the washrooms out Monday. He, after having a closed door meeting with the Duffy sewer people all was deemed all OK.
Dean stated to the copper's , to just learn to live with nature as he got into a 500SL. MB.
As of 2330 hours the lady bugs arrived and about 100 were located in a corner kicking Mr. Rats ass.
Wait until the thousands make it in.
Next time use union plumbers and you will not have these problems. The results of non-union labor. Probably illegals from Mexico doing the plumbing.
"Birth defects be dammed. Bring on DDT."
Imagine the diseases officers are exposed to and taking home to their families. Pretty sad we have to work in these conditions. But we all know complaints will go nowhere.
Hornets to kill the flies -- lizards to kill the hornets -- frogs to kill the lizards -- snakes to kill the frogs -- gorillas to kill the snakes. Wasn't this a Simpsons episode?
Nothing will be done until it effects the prisoners!
oh oh that smell
Why does the city treat us like this? because we let them. We never stick together.
this happens at firehouses also, takes weeks to get fixed.
Can I get some bleach over here?
The raw sewage was never cleaned out of the ceilings That might be a good follow up to the pipes finally getting fixed
Wish ssc will publish my comment, why dnt you guys put pictures of the inside of cop cars, better yet under the seats where food is left and maggots grow.and coppers wanna complain about city building when coppers work in third world fesis that they created. Unf__king real. .Imo
I know an old lady who swallowed a fly, I don't know why she swallowed a fly, maybe she'll die.
Have UNICEF place kids all over the station. The flies will be attracted to them. Problem soved. Better than The Orcan Man and only for pennies a day!
Once someone suits for unsanitary work conditions, this will stop, lessons are not learned unless punitive payments are made,it's for the children!
Very messy.
Ahh go to doctor hit the medical due to breathing difficulties caused by working conditions, get a good class action lawyer and case would be winnable.
You should see 51st Wentworth locker room and bathroom. Ugh. Continuous standing water, rusting lockers, mold and mildew
Start sending rats and swamp lies in packages to mlas. Give O'neill a taste of what we live with.
Man up Woosie Boys! You ain't seen a 'terlet' until you made the basement at 51st and Wentworth!!!
Go through the proper channels and keep a paper trail.
Either that or live with it and stop complaining
Everything the city builds has to be rebuilt.
Sounds like a story from a 3rd world country..... then again Rahm and CPD treats us like 2nd class citizens so we shouldn't be shocked.
Sewer flies usually show up when there's a floor drain trap that dried out...
Pour a bucket of water down the floor drain, then pour in a gallon of bleach and put the bucket over the floor drain for a few hours... Then pour a bucket of water down there to rinse...
The bleach fumes will kill whatever was living in that drain, and the water will allow the trap to do it's job...
Back in college we used to knock out fruit flies with Ether, dump them on a piece of paper, and slide it under the door of a buddies room. (We were little shits). The flies would regain consciousness and fill the room. If you were really looking to stick it to him you would throw a piece of fruit under his bed so they would multiple in it. Maybe someone can knock some of these flies out and release them in City Hall. If Rahm had to deal with them maybe he would see to it that the PDs were treated.

Great idea. Don't write about it on the blog, go do it and get your great idea started.

nothing
pour bleach in the puddles.
Send in the "wildlife depredations prevention" gal -- the one in the kayak with the inevitable Border Collie -- to paddle around in there keeping the seagulls away.
"Pour a bucket of water down the floor drain, then pour in a gallon of bleach..."

...and it all probably comes cascading out the air vents right downstairs from there...

Somebody get Moe, Larry, and Curly on the horn. Have them bring their tools...
toss a bucket of metallic sodium chunks on it....
bring your 3D glasses!
You dummies it's all part of the wetlands restoration project sponsored by the Obama administration. And those flies are now federally protected.
