Rahm's Poll Numbers Tanking

  • Only one in five Chicago voters credit Mayor Rahm Emanuel with doing a better job of running the city than Richard M. Daley did, and only 29 percent would support him if the mayoral election were held today.

Those are the results of a new poll conducted for Early and Often, the Chicago Sun-Times’ political portal. The telephone survey of 511 registered Chicago voters who said they were “very likely” to go to the polls on Feb. 24 was conducted Wednesday by the firm of McKeon and Associates.

“Right now, Rahm is not connecting. If he doesn’t do that, he’s gonna lose,” McKeon said.
Well, nothing in the report says they surveyed the graveyards of Chicago. Nor the people who actually count the votes. And if we have another turnout like last election, 29% might actually win the thing.

Color us skeptical of the whole thing. Unless he fires McCarthy....and shuts down the blog. Then he might get 30%.

I am sure they can find a more corrupt Democrat than Rahm to run. It is Chicago after all.

Daley won with ease and he didn't connect with people besides the people he took care of. Isn't that what Rahm is doing?

He'll win without a challenge. Get used to it. He's here for as long as he wants.

The tag line 'it's for the children' is becoming a huge joke in this town. Even little old ladies are mocking his b.s. 'it's for the children' line. A relative from Libertyville was driving us to lunch yesterday and she pointed at one of the cameras and mugged, 'it's for the children' and laughed and laughed the next couple of blocks. Rahm has become a punchline.

Trib blocked this story. Had to do a lot of searching to bring it up.
Three days after the Chicago Tribune published a brutal take-down of Rahm Emanuel -- dubbing the Democratic mayor a "walking personality disorder" -- the conservative-leaning newspaper has posted a fiery response from Emanuel ally David Axelrod.

"I appreciate fair commentary, even when it singes. But I take strong exception to Kristen McQueary's column on Wednesday, a snide and gratuitous screed on the performance of our current mayor," writes Axelrod, former advisor to President Obama and current director of the Institute of Politics at the University of Chicago.

Download Our Mobile Apps
"I've known and worked with Rahm Emanuel for more than 30 years. He is a smart, high-energy, impatient, plain-spoken and very committed leader, whose in-your-face bluntness very much matches the tenor of the town he leads. Sometimes those qualities grate. Most of the time, however, it is his strong-willed nature that leads to progress," says Axelrod, who once covered City Hall for the Trib during his days as a political reporter.

In her eye-popping hit piece, McQueary -- an editorial board member at the paper -- scolded Emanuel for failing to match his sharp-tongued swagger to his political performance since taking office three years ago.

She wrote, "His arrogance is oversized for the record he has amassed. He's beyond bossy. He's a walking personality disorder. But his audacity exceeds his accomplishments. That's a dangerous combination."

The hits kept coming as McQueary issued a seemingly endless laundry list of complaints against the mayor. Among them: Borrowing nearly a billion dollars for infrastructure maintenance; earmarking taxpayer money for a Marriott and sports arena in the South Loop; spending too much dough on bike lines amid a looming pension crisis, and not doing enough to curb the city's endemic violence.

"He has no discernible strategy to rescue the South and West sides from cancerous gang activity and crime," she sniped. "He would rather focus on the well-to-do regions of the city. If one of his drivers plopped him at a South Side intersection, he would need Google Maps to get back home."

Jumping to Emanuel's defense, Axelrod blasts McQueary for omitting "the mayor's vigorous and successful efforts to bring new businesses and thousands of jobs to our city" and trivializing the "politically difficult steps he has taken" on pension reform.

As for her Google Maps quip, Axelrod states that "to suggest that the mayor has been indifferent belies his commitment of police and other resources to the neighborhoods that have become war zones."

He continues: "And if McQueary believes the mayor does not spend time in these neighborhoods, perhaps she should leave Tribune Tower from time to time and travel the city with him."

Meanwhile, McQueary is tweeting up a storm. She appeared on WGN Radio's Bill and Wendy show on Friday, posting beforehand: "I will try not to be snide or gratuitous. But no promises."

She also retweeted a missive from Trib columnist John Kass supporting her for "telling the truth."

There's the truth and then there's referring to someone as a "walking personality disorder" in the city's courtly and supposedly sophisticated newspaper of record.

That's a new level of bold.

Read the article "Psychopaths in Chief", James G. Long.
Americanthinker.com, 10 Aug 12

Today's corporate culture is based on rapid movement rather then stability. High energy, zero ethics, psychos are well suited to this modern environment in business/government because they can make the big scores and be gone by the time the organization crashes.

Dr. Clive Boddy makes the case that the financial collapse of 2008 was caused by these people.

Emanuel and Rod Blagojevich are cited as probable organizational psychopaths in the article.

The only way Emanuel can be defeated is through a broad left/right coalition because he is enriching the world's elites and has unlimited resources from the region itself, Hollywood, DC, and beyond.

He is angling to be POTUS nominee when the Hillary campaign implodes.

Rahm backs Hilary for Prez, hoping against hope that she will pick him for Vice Prez. He has persuaded the Democrat gumps in Springfield to pony up $100 mil for Obama's library - he could care less if the library is here - it was just a reminder to Valerie Jarrett that he can pull millions out of his ass whenever he wants to, because she is the real power in the White House. She is the one who will tell Hilary who the VP candidate will be.

As for the DePaul stadium, that was part of a deal with the Illinois Catholics. Their part: go along with converting their schools to charter schools. It is happening all over the country. When Catholic schools close and charters open in their places, they rent the property to the charter operators. All that remains is for Springfield to lift the limits on charter schools, and that's next.

Rahm is following the old school method for his regime and his campaign. Show up at 95th Red Line, kiss some black mothers, show up at Metra kiss the hands of the commuters, grab his cash from his brother's Hollywood friends, keep the unions at bay with his constant lies. What Chicago needs right now is a leader, there are tough choices to make but they are easier to swallow when you admit failure and fall on the sword. There are many people draining the pension fund, just as there are social programs that clearly should be eliminated. Put bodies back to work, there is a law on the book in Mass that allows ex offenders after 10 years with a clean record (depends on the offense of course and it is detailed) that puts people back to work, off the welfare, SSI and disability rolls, you then get insurance and are a productive citizen. Second, get rid of double and triple dipping. That hurts. Third, go after the illegal guns. California got it right, automatic time for discharge of a weapon, sorry, get mad all you want. But if Ray Ray has a pistol illegally and uses it, he pays the price. Stop the pork projects. CPS is a disaster but some schools have it right. Follow their plan system wide. CPS also tests too damn much. And for what? Kids are not being taught current skills. That is my rant.

Right now Prekwinkle can walk away with the election. If she chooses not to run or is promised something to not run then the dynamic changes. Can still be some competition out there maybe Rielly or Fioretti but Prekwinkle wins hands down. So here goes a possible scenario: Rahm gets Prekwinkle to stay out of race and if Hillary gets the nod to run for Prez then Rahm gets tapped for VP and the city has special election and Prekwinkle walks into the office with all the support that was prearranged, agreed to for her not running against Rahm. All the while the democrat party stays in power and all factions stay together.
The key for Rahm is re-election if he doesn't get it he's history, damaged goods, it would show he has no drawing power amongst his own party. But rest assured McCarthy is gone after summer .....

His numbers are tanking indeed.

A little anecdotal evidence for you.

Last week, I was at the City Colleges graduation ceremony at the UIC pavilion. About 10,000 people in attendance, over half were black.

When the speaker first mentioned Rahm's name, it drew a round of boos, predominantly from the black audience. The speaker then went on to explain that Rahm could not attend, and that they had a pre-recorded message from the 9 digit midget that they would play on the jumbo-tron. Another round of boos from the black audience.

Reports say that Rahm's popularity is really tanking in the black community. Sure seemed to be true that day.

He raises oodles of out of town money as he sell us off Chicago piece by piece. He has lined his pockets in public service and we all have higher bills to show for it. His ambitions are to return to D.C. and he only ran for mayor because Obama was going to kick him out of the White House at the behest of Valerie Jarrett.

It doesn't matter how low Herr Rahmeister's ratings tank. He will be re-annoited.

That is because there is NO democracy in Chicago. There is/was more in the Soviet Union.

What will happen is that there will be a few token challengers that will either be bought off or threatened with expulsion if they challenge. One may be allowed to make "credible" effort to make it appear that democracy still occurs in Chicago.

Since most Chicago voters say "Why bother?" the turnout will be very low. But Rahm will get enough sheeple to vote for him to get another term. He will get 70 of the vote....of the 20% that turns out.

Consider this. Rahm emmanuel sold us that red light cameras and speed cameras are for the safety of the children. A noble notion which is hard to counter. His security entourage blatantly disregarded the laws the common masses must abide by or face fines. And on rahm’s orders, he denied penalty payments or much needed revenue for the schools and the urban children on his executive orders. He has lots of personal wealth and campaign money at his disposal. You think he would do the right thing?

On the other hand the average middle class Joe six pack would have his personal property, his vehicle, seized by the city for non payments in a kind of a search and seizure type thing. Remember this is permissible under civil law not criminal law. Then if Joe six pack couldn’t pay the fines on time in this worst economy, the rate of return with fines and penalties puts the best efforts of the financial gurus on Wall Street to shame. The collection agencies then get involved and threaten negative reports to credit agencies for the city’s residents who are one check away from bankruptcy. Revenue generation is job #1 for the city by any means necessary.

How about property taxes which provide much needed revenue to operate the efficient, successful public school system. Rahm’s wife, the lovely miss lady Amy Rule, sets up a charitable trust with her now Congressman husband making their home in the 4200 block of North Hermitage property tax exempt denying much needed school tax funding “for the Children”. Kind of like tax evasion. This trust was spawned as rahm joined Congress in 1992 concocting more tax law while dodging his own property taxes. Rahm and his out of touch democrat comrades led an endless tax jihad against the middle class and the evil businesses. Amy Rule paid herself as head of the charitable organization, The rahm emmanuel and Amy Rule Charitable Trust. The remainder went to her synagogue as she is a recent convert to Orthodox Judaism. And lets not forget rahm is a multi-millionaire or the 1 %, so paying his fair share or sacrificing will not set him back. And he wants to run for president?

For the average Joe, don’t pay those property taxes and your property is sold for the outstanding taxes at auctions to select brokers and select connected law firms. Extremely profitable endeavors for these insiders. The county clerks collection efforts show no mercy. The average Joe is not connected and does not have access to scheister lawyers who know how to make property taxes go away through legal tricks and legal gimmicks. The same middle class that pays more for government obligations than food, shelter and basic necessities combined. The middle class wants CHANGE! Not coins in their pocket but a redirection of this out of touch government. One set of rules for the unwashed masses and another set for political elite. Hey rahm, we’ll do as you say, not as you do. No wonder why he is so unpopular.

Stick a fork in Rahm - he's done.

Let's be totally (and brutally) honest.

Rahm did NOT impress me (or others) with his arrogant style of management.

I see Axelrod came to his defense.

Well, Axelrod was always good at trying to build something out of nothing and the same praise should go to him when it comes to trying to make Rahm sound like more of a success than what he is.

Rahm likes to pass judgement on others, but cannot stand to be measured himself.

He has not shown me any "great ideas" and to keep banging the same old songs out about gun control and skirting around the real issues, my conclusion is we cannot afford to give him another 4 years to polish up his act - because his act does NOT help a major city that is in trouble, let alone a country.

Time to find another candidate.

These twisted from the womb fucks must be fulfilling a childhood pact to bring the world down in flames as revenge for their strange childhoods.

One is a fucking eugenicist ala Josef Mengele, one is a Hollywood illusion weaver, and one is a political corporatist bag man...

What's not to love about these rotten m/fers?

This city and nation are going to reap bitter sorrows at the hands of these twisted, hateful, malignant little manlings.

Crazy shit-flingers...
Or is it everybody else whose feverish brain started their hair on fire?

Chicago's version of "The Krays."

Sheer Desperation Department -- Reverse racism to become instrument of policy in Illinois schools

Different standards for different students --
State gets permission from the feds to ditch No Child Left Behind rules

May 11, 2014

"Under a dramatic new approach to rating public schools, Illinois students of different backgrounds no longer will be held to the same standards — with Latinos and blacks, low-income children and other groups having lower targets than whites for passing state exams, the Tribune has found.

"In reading, for example, 85 percent of white third- through eighth-grade students statewide will be expected to pass state tests by 2019, compared with about 73 percent for Latinos and 70 percent for black students, an analysis of state and federal records shows..."

What was that about 1 out of 5 Illinoisans leaving within the next year?

Oh -- Cicero Avenue is going to be renamed Nelson Mandela Road. That'll help too.

"Rep. LaShawn Ford, whose district includes the stretch of road, [said that] “There will be a big sign or plaque at every stop light, serving as a tribute to the inspirational leader’s memory.”

"Ford, who faces a federal bank fraud charge, said he decided to sponsor the resolution because “Mandela is all about education, reform and freedom.”

Well what the fuck do you expect?

Rahm has easily, since he's been in office, announced plans, initiatives, muni-private partnerships and in general pissed away about three to four times the amount of money due to be paid to our pension fund in the guise of the $600+ Million balloon payment that he constantly cries broke about...

Local media?
Any time you toothless bust-outs are ready to address this instead of energetically looking the other way.

>Pfffft!<

Series of biased, anti police hit pieces being lined up to go on Rahm's order in 3...2...1...

"Chicago Cop Leaves Drawers On Floor "Sunny-Side Up! "

Meanwhile... Rahm hears the sound of a $25K plate being slid across a table somewhere on the North Shore or the Gold Coast.

He steps over these poor poor minority children, (whom he is on record as saying "...Won't amount to much." Unlike his freshly scrubbed and no doubt precious to HIM children) "greedy" policemen and firemen and THEIR undeserving of anything (but the taste of Rahm's back-hand slap across their mouths) wives and children...

"I'm gonna stick it in the cops ear..."
"You guys are gonna have to learn to bleed..."

Hey Rahm... Coppers and Firemen bleed in this city every day.

We of course, will never see YOU charge a burning house with people hanging out the windows screaming... Or you're too late but just in time to hear their final screams and see them burn to blackened skeletons hanging on to the burglar bars.

We CERTAINLY won't see you delivering law and order to your hard head, iron-legged, death worshipping constituency in Harrison, Austin, Englewood, Gresham etc... Right?

Perhaps because you're a typical left wing corporate money conjurer North Shore, classist and elitist in addition to being the nasty deeply closeted bigot and hater in denial of the worst sort... A left winger who is "down for the cause."

Your "Conquer Chicago, Then The Nation" plan was flawed... You blew into town and picked very unnecessary fights with union member muni employees while giving shielding, comfort and distance to the immediate past regime that is SOLELY RESPONSIBLE for financially destroying this city.

You cry like a whore and intentionally point the finger of blame at the wrong people in hope the public buys into your misdirection.

That's very telling... Did your survey people tell you that all Chicagoans are as dumb as you wished they were?

The biggest pothole that needs to be filled in Chicago is Rahm's foul mouth. People see through the faker. He is an absentee mayor gone two to three weeks per month.

The prick mayor was at the Blackhawks game on Sunday. Right on the glass. He must have bought them on Stubhub or something. TV had cameras on him.

Nelson Mandela was a self comfessed terrorist who plead guilty to 150 terrorist crimes including bombings that killed and maimed women and children and policmen and soldiers. An avowed communist he left South Africa is economic shambles and record unemployment and inflation through the roof. He was offered early release many times but had to renounce terrorism which he would not do. In fact whenhe plead guilty of the crimes he committed in 1964 the world was shocked he did not get the death penalty for if those crime he committed were in the USA or England it would have been a capital punishment finding. Funny how people see what they want to see and believe what they want to believe in the face of facts.

Thank you. The internet has been scrubbed clean of most references to his crimes and only talks about what a 'peaceful' man he was. The truth doesn't enter into the conversation anymore.

Agreed. 29% might win the day. No one has the cash or a name to compete with Rahm.

And thank God Lewis doesn't. Jesus that woman is a walking tax and spend nightmare.
