Concealed Carrier Shoots Assailant
- A Gresham man is charged with attempted murder after he fired on a group of people leaving a party Friday night, only to be shot himself by one of the victims, a military service member with a concealed carry permit, authorities said Sunday.
The military member and three others were leaving a party Friday night in the 11700 block of South Union Avenue in West Pullman, Assistant State’s Attorney [...] said in Cook County Bond Court.
One of the victims noticed a cup of liquor on top of her vehicle and asked attendees of a party next door who it belonged to.... When she removed it, Denzel A. Mickiel approached her, shouting obscenities and threatening her and her friends, according to[...] court records.
Mickiel, 22, went into the residence, returned with a gun and began firing at the group.... As Mickiel fired shots at the victims’ vehicle, the military member retrieved his gun and took cover near the vehicle’s front fender.... Two unidentified males also shot at the group....
The service member fired two shots and struck Mickiel twice....
Any bets on the assailant's criminal record and how many legal guns he owned? Or if any he owned were lawfully obtained? The silence from Rahm and McCarthy is deafening.

Oh no, ban military personnel from walking among sheeple and actually aim properly. They are only trained to kill effectively and aim properly. How on earth are criminals supposed to shoot their firearm sideways and hit something when a person with proper training can hit them easily with only two shots? It's not fair.

If the military service member who is a LAWFUL carrier of a firearm and a LAWFUL possessor of a concealed carry permit happens to be black, does the fact that he's a lawful carrier and possessor make him "racist against his own people" as the catered to constituents like to say?

While celebrating our nation's independence which his service helped to preserve, some felon POS tried to kill him and numerous other people. He responded courageously and appropriately. Please let me be the first to by him a beer.
They'll still try to hang this poor bastard because his CC permit was issued in Ohio. Won't matter that he was stone sober, a veteran and acting in self defense if Rahm and McCloggedPipes have their way.
And no mention of how the female was shot twice (once in the chest) by the piece of shit Mickiel.
And for the record, this asshole got whacked with four (4) counts of Attempted Murder. Too bad he'll probably plea and walk after 3 years in the joint.
Even without a backlog of jobs, it takes responding police minutes to come to our aid. Properly trained concealed carry cardholder armed with a .45 ACP service ammo (hardball, fires a .45in (11.5mm) diameter, 230 grain (14.9 g) bullet of 800 fps. Do the math. Concealed Carry works.
On a lighter note, a diner in Rifle, Colorado [an open carry state] has a sign that reads:
“Please keep all weapons holstered unless need arises, In such case, judicious marksmanship is appreciated.”

This guy's actions may have saved more than just himself and his party. I know it's expecting a lot from the thugs but maybe they'll hear about this and think twice before firing on innocents next time.

We have police officers living in the highest gang and narcotics infested neighborhoods in the city. What makes you think a military guy would do any different? He was a victim of usual circumstances in a usual neighborhood where crime is usual.
give a gang banger 10-15 years minimum when caught with an illegal weapon and we might see reduction in the shootings.

Perhaps we should just suspend the Constitution? Not just 2A, but how about 4A - so the government can enter your house and search for guns without a warrant? I don't like the sound of that any more than I like being outmatched by thugs. Good people should be able to protect themselves from bad people, and a gun is only one tool.
What if there were no alcoholic beverages? Then we'd have no alcohol-induced DUI deaths... And a lot of people making moonshine...

You do know the history how that worked out for the U.S.A and Chicago? We're still living with the strength it afforded organized crime.

Ukraine gave up their ability to protect themselves and look how that worked out for them.
