Up to 31 Shot
- Three people were killed and 28 others have been wounded in shootings across the city since Thursday night.
The most recent fatal shooting happened around 10:20 a.m. Saturday in South Chicago. Deandre Brown, 23, was in the 8700 block of South Houston Avenue when he was shot in a leg and the abdomen, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Brown, of the 9000 block of South Mackinaw Avenue, was pronounced dead at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
We might be mistaken, but this could be the first 30+ weekend of the year, though you should put an asterisk by it due to the three day weekend.

This made page two in today's Seattle Times' Newsline column: "Chicago shootings: Chicago was hit by a burst of Fourth of July holiday violence, with at least 40 people shot between Thursday afternoon and Saturday night, including twenty-one people shot in an 11-hour stretch starting late Friday, police said. At least two people died. Four of the shootings were police-involved, including one in which officers fatally shot a 16-year-old boy, the Chicago Tribune reported."

50 yes I said 50 people shot so far this holiday weekend. What are we going to have for the week? 100 people shot? It's actually laughable. But the city according to the Sun Times and Fox News say homicides are down. What about all those open death investigations? McCarthy should just shut the f××k up and resign like a man. He has been a complete failure and is going to go down as the worst superintendent in Chicago Police history.

During a press conference officials representing Trauma Team Workers local 69, says these are just young disgruntled misunderstood youth and then ended the press conference when the question of the cost and overtime involved came up. Well, not exactly, but close. The guy was shot on the 4400 block of Malden, drove away, and flagged down a car at Montrose and Paulina. He died not too long after that. Still, it's about 6 blocks or so between the original scene and rahm's hse.

50 shot and only 7 killed so far. Very poor marksmanship. It makes me wonder how many would be killers completely missed their target. Even if such victimless shootings were reported I doubt such stats would be announced to the public. The Rahm Regime certainly wouldn't want the public to think about those armed wanna-be killers with murderous intent and bad aim roaming loose on the street.
Ballerina erased over 2,000 sworn positions from cpd , not counting retirements and the house cats hiding inside doing clerical work . Your damn right the sworn officers doing clerical work have to hit the street. Start on Jackson and then move to 35th street and every commanders office. It's ridiculous all these inside people. And they usually work straight days with weekends off!
