Voter Registration Deadline

Sure we complain and give others a forum to complain. But have you taken the next step? Are you participating in the process?
Don't worry about jury duty - they go by Driver's Licenses in addition to voter rolls, so you're in the hopper regardless. And you get to vote against the Machine if you're so inclined.

Don't forget, ward boundaries were redrawn. Your polling place may not be the same.

Its the guys that barely made 2nd watch that cant stand this contract and yes...guys on their way to retire within the next year or so. The guys that barely made 2nd watch will have to give up their Summer furloughs and end up with a low furlough because it will be by watch. It makes sense because the entire 2nd watch city wide gets its manpower depleted due to the majority of 2nd watch being on furlough during July and August. Its safe to say if you have less than 20 years on days..you will not get the Summer furlough anymore. Hey..you dont like it? Come to 3rd watch..we can use you. You cant have every single thing your way. This contract will go thru. 10-15 years otj is the majority of this department and the majority will win.

Speaking of voting Monday August 6th 7pm @ Steve's lounge, That little neighborhood of Hegewisch is having the vote for the new board of directors of the baseball league the cop killer was coaching in.

Guess what the one remaining board member rigged the election and has the old board wives running.

He rejected the slate of police and firemen that wanted to run the league.

Babe Ruth international DID NOT change the background rules so guess who will be a coach next year yup and now they have legal defense to stop any attempt to remove him. Great turn out that night for nothing.

Remember, a vote for Rauner is a vote for Rahm.

Rauner will destroy the unions and gut the pensions.

I have voted Republican 90% of the time for the last 30 years. This is one of those times to hold your nose and vote for the Democrat.

Your Mayor really doesn't give two shits about 28000 retiree voters, that's just a drop in the bucket for his reelection campaign. He clearly showed us that in his decision to raise the medical insurance cost. But I didn't vote for this jackass last time and at least I can say I will get off my fat ass and vote again this time, and once again, not for this fucker.

Of the 28000 retirees affected, I would bet only 30% voted last time. And even more disappointing is the thought that a great percentage of the active officers may not be voting as well. So many people on your site SCC encourage all the others to vote and make a difference, but I am beginning to realize their intentions are there and they just don't follow through. We are our own worst enemy.

Let me take a stab at it. He imported the car directly from the plant in Germany (a very sweet deal you can arrange, if you want to drive your new car around Europe before bringing it here) and now has the legal grace period in which to title and plate it locally?

There are more referenda on the ballot this time than usual.

These are important.

One is to amend the state constitution to prohibit any law that has a disparate impact on minority voter registration.

Another is to require all prescription drug plans to cover birth control.

Another to raise the minimum wage.

Yet another is to funnel extra resources to schools where kids don't speak English.

The power drunk left is reaching big on this ballot. Pay attention and do the right thing. you can view your sample ballot at the Chicago Board of Elections website.

Thanks!

That vehicle can be found on 71 75 79 streets on the weekends. Don't try to stop it. It will not be a pleasant stop. There is a reason why that car has funny plates and tinted front windshield without a single comment from the bosses who work at 18th and state.

SCC, after cruising the "related websites" of our Blog, the Illinois State Police (ispeeved) has a post from Sept 29, stating the FOP is going to endorse Quinn. Just FYI.

Anyone can register to vote at a local library in Chicago. Regardless of your decision, if you are not registered to vote, please do so. This is not about Democrats, or Republicans, it is about you.

Also, please vote on the contract. Regardless which way you vote, please vote. Your vote exhibits at least FOP members care.

Please, everyone, make sure you vote. Get everyone who is eligible in your family registered and have them vote too. A politician can have all the money he wants in his war chest but a simple voter going against him is much more valuable.

So, because you think Rauner is friends with Rahm you will vote for the Democrat that you KNOW is friends with Rahm. The proven friend of Rahm that has put this state at the bottom. Interesting logic.

.....unless of course you are one of Rahm's trolls? That's my take because no one could be that stupid.
