The democrats have put off funding our pensions to use the money elsewhere.
The democrats have let their cronies and family members invest the money that we have contributed to our pension funds. It doesn't matter if they're qualified to manage our money or not. Big commissions are handed out to these insiders. Big losses to our pension funds have ensued.
Senator Cullerton ( democrat) tries to tax pensions in the state of Illinois. He does this knowing that we won't get full social security payments due to our pensions.
Yet, people are worried about Rauner and the republicans. I'm voting republican. The democrats have beaten up on us enough.

I also called within the last couple weeks and was told in so many words that all the old desk Sgt. grievances are dead. Something along the lines that the wording their own ex-people (Aguliar) told us to use was too generic in scope and that an arbitrator already ruled against such language in the one case they brought forward and that bringing all these cases forward again would only be thrown out by an arbitrator. Seems the "performed the same tasks and duties normally assigned to a desk sergeant" - that FOP told us to use - isn't good enough. Was told to document the grievance with specificity from now on any time I might be assigned is acting desk sergeant. No bullshit. Call yourself and ask them if there's any truth to this and see what they tell you. Might be time for all of us involved to consult an attorney and see if it would fall under a class action against bought the department and possibly FOP.

Suggestions? Thoughts?

The Bears were actually supposed to play a late game scheduled for 2 November.
They took a vote and decided unanimously to watch Nik Wallenda instead.

Open thread so here goes. In roll call this week we were informed that aldermen have "security forces" that they control. They have uniforms "very similar" to ours. In addition, they have spanking new cars with light bars on them. And they're armed. The ones I've seen hang out in currency exchange parking lots along Madison and Chicago. My thoughts? Why isn't the money for ones own "brown shirts" being used to fund police hirings? Do they have arrest powers? Will this be the start of the dismantling of CPD? (Also revealed in roll call, a Sgt for this bunch allegedely committed an armed robbery of a....wait for it....reverend, at one of the said currency exchanges. You can't make this stuff up.) Can anyone confirm if this is being implemented citywide?

To our local dip shit media types who love to throw this word around (except when the police cars involved)...here's a much needed lesson on our language...

Alleged
(of an incident or a person) said, without proof, to have taken place or to have a specified illegal or undesirable quality.

Once someone admits to taking part in the incident (regardless of motive) IT IS NO LONGER ALLEGED!
In fact, there's no better proof than an admission by a party opponent. This one's on the house.

There's going to be 10 Second Delay in case he falls, which I sure hope he does not. He'll be up at approx 600 Feet and even if he hit the river, he'd be a goner -- water is like concrete at those heights (High Divers are at 125 ft).

Lisa Madigan has TV ads which portray minorities as ignorant and uneducated so as not to understand their mortgage contracts. The boogeymen preying only on minorities in her own words, with no mention of other groups, are the big mortgage companies. How about the lawyer who reviewed their contracts on the minority victim’s behalf? As an attorney general wouldn’t you want to work for the people and upset the legal profession’s monopolistic applecart and put the bar association’s membership on the proverbial hot seat vulnerable to civil litigation and ultimately civil redress?

Why are mortgage contracts in a language the average lay person cannot understand and more importantly, why do we sign something we cannot comprehend without a formal law education? Think about it, have you read the mortgage agreement in its entirety prior to signing?

So tell me how are people with elementary reading skills or who speak a language other than English held accountable after signing a law school level legal document which clearly they cannot understand? Maybe instead of making mortgage companies the bad guy, lets discipline the mortgage closing attorneys for providing substandard legal representation. And Lisa sue those mortgage companies for damages and fines so your father has more money to squander and provide him additional power to spend as he wishes via the state purse. And by the way Lisa, non- minorities have been victims of mortgage scams too. Lisa, stop insulting minorities portraying as uneducated and ignorant so the good liberal you are can atone for your party’s continuing sins.

Thank you for the information. Just because the supervisors are assigned to the academy does not mean that police officers are not scamming the system. The Inspector General needs to investigate and crack down on the "free days," "two hour days," and unqualified instructors. It is such a big scam that the recruits are getting cheated by not even learning the basics. I have been an FTO for about 10 years. The training is getting worse. The instructors pass the buck to the people on patrol, the burden of doing the training. Yes, many recruits tell the story of the three hour lunches, incompetent instructors, and the famous "read from the power point slides" training. If it continues this way, I am just going to give up my FTO spot.
_______

This is a legitimate outrage.

I have been an FTO for fifteen years. I signed up for the task because I wanted to do more than just patrol. I wanted to teach and train people. It was never about the money for me, the payoff is not there because the extra money does not justify the additional work. I remember the day that I officially became an FTO; I proudly began the day with a new recruit. The job is not easy. I did it because someone has to train these people.

The training from the academy is at its worse. It does not help that we are working with up to three recruits at a time.

I realized that the FTOs are just a tool to get the job done. We are used to pick up the slack from the academy. I am giving up my FTO spot. The instructors at the academy can take on the responsibility to train the recruits for the three cycles.
