Bona fide shots fired at and by the police ...611R heard loud reports coming from alley and were fired upon from a garage near 86/Bishop. Squad ended up crashing into a fence and both officers bailed while returning fire at three male black offenders who fled eastbound. Both officers just recently got off probation and neither one was physically injured but were shaken up. One officer's Glock 19 malfunctioned multiple times and he ended up going through 3 magazine changes. Good job by responding officers and too bad the offenders were able to get away
Confirmed.Coppers ok, one taken to the hospital with a minor injury (not a GSW). Great response by 004, 007, 022 A/S Gangs & Saturation, SWAT & K-9. Shell casings recovered,no one in custody yet.

If you read the reports in the media regarding his wedding, it looks like McCarthy isn't going anywhere. The wife's job and her entire family are here, and she has publicly stated that she has no desire to move. So he will be a resident of his "adopted hometown" long after this failed NY/NJ experiment with CPD is over.

This has happened several years in a row where a dui resulting in a death has caused argument if it counts as the first homicide... IT DOESNT! must be with a weapon or beating. If this hit and run did count, well, I would have won... There is still a chance.
As a sergeant and a career street cop, the most important principle lost to our leadership is a simple but absolute truth. Happy cops are productive cops. We do not need pointless missions and even more pointless "give me an event number" nonsense. Take care of your people and the job will get done. Congratulations to 011 for achieving a 10 year high for homicides and then starting the new year with a bang. We wish you better days ahead, hopefully without the empty uniform that the commander is now and a not so fond farewell to the XO, who is truly out of touch with police work. We shall not touch upon the fact that every lieutenant in 011 has less than a year. We'll be needing a Lt soon as Cline will depart to OCD as soon as he has his year. Unfortunately, Cline doesn't not have the clout that the former sergeant in 011 does so he is unable to go to a unit in less than a year. Oh, and be careful in the Tact office in 011, the year ended with a bang also. Stay safe and cherish your family.

Once again FLOP can't even put out a Holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanakua, Kwanza, and New Years) message wishing its members and their families a safe and blessed holiday. Something so simple, yet so complicated for the good ole boys and girls at FLOP HQ.
I'm sure they had a nice Ruth Chris holiday dinner on our dime. The thing that gets me so upset is FOP trustee Kenny "free for me" Hauser eating jumbo shrimp cocktails, bone in ribeye and a grand mariner soufflé with my union dues.
