Juvenile Charged

  • A boy was arrested and charged as a juvenile Saturday in connection with the December robbery of Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s teenage son, police said.

The male juvenile, whose age was not immediately released by police, was arrested Saturday in the Dec. 19 attack in 4200 block of North Hermitage Avenue, police spokesman Martin Maloney said in an email.

The boy confessed to the robbery and was cited as a juvenile with robbery and aggravated battery in the public way, Maloney said. No information on when he might be in court was released.
A juvenile, so the law forbids the release of most of the arrest information. A confession, negating the need for any appearances by the mayor's family. No court info released, so the media won't be over by Juvie staking it out for pictures, statements, etc. An awfully convenient way for the whole incident to die and be buried in the memory hole.

A statement of mayoral thanks:
  • Emanuel spokesman Adam Collins issued a statement following the arrest.

“The Mayor and Amy (Rule, Emanuel’s wife) are grateful to the dedicated men and women of the Chicago Police Department for their hard work, and they would like to thank everyone who shared kind thoughts and wishes for their son’s well-being,” Collins said in the statement. "But he's still going to bend you over a barrel and fuck you on your pensions."
We might have added that last part.

How are pensions Rahm's fault when he was not the one who promised early retirement ages and huge payouts that were impossible to achieve. Blame the crooked politicians and union leaders for screwing over the public and the workers. Now if Rahm does not do something about pensions, e.g. new hires get 401k type plans, later retirement ages and reasonable benefits, then he does deserve blame.

They just got the kid so he can get probation and elections won't paint Rahm like the unproductive candidate he is. Rahm will say there is an arrest and streets are safer. If that was true you would of got a real confession like my kid was not talking to a school counselor at 10 pm And let's get the other thief. I don't mean Rahm I meant the other thief that chip teeth in.

More talk from the double-tongued.

Why would this juvenile confess?

Who else is he sheltering?

Now Rahm can point that an "arrest" was made when he was being criticized for not pressing charges before.

So what is it? Before no crime.

Now, an anonymous "juvenile" takes the rap, so that Rahm can say "case closed".

As Josey would say, "Don't piss down my back and tell me it's rainin'."

In this land chiefed by the double-tongued Tiny Dancer, justice has not been served.

Maybe you missed the press conference a couple of years ago, when Rahm Emanuel flat out stated he WOULD NOT FUND our pension until there was pension reform.

Refusing to put the money in, thereby forcing our pension fund to underperform, isn't anybody's fault but Emanuel's.

I don't care HOW you City Hall interns try to spin it. It's immoral. It's dishonest. It says everything I need to know about Rahm Emanuel.

Were you harmed? If so do something more than spout off about it on the blog. If not you, then encourage those harmed to get the grievances going. And call your useless "union" and ask what's what with the committee they and the city were supposed to form to hammer out this very collective bargaining agreement/issue. And speaking of 011, ask FLOP where all the cars are that you assholes voted for in the contract. Cmdr. West is having to down early 3/w so there's cars available to get some of the 1/w on the street. 6 cars to be precise. And then ask FLOP about them changing the start times for late card cuz of not having enuf cars. Hint - they can swing you 2 hours each way so don't cry too much about it. Not everyone on the security detail gets D3 pay. You need to be working full time assigned to the protection detail and be officially a security specialist or whatever the title code it in order to be paid D3. The FOP has been sounding the alarm on the pension deficit for years. Daley refused to make payments claiming investments were doing well and payments weren't needed. Rahm also doesn't want to make payments or at least the ballon payment due in the near future. He'd rather change the pension plan. How about our elected officials spend the tax payer money on obligations such pensions instead of inside contracts on new schools we don't need or more parks we don't need to line the pockets of their friends and campaign contributors. That's the problem. Stop blaming the pension employees.

This is what I heard from a friend downtown. There was no arrestee. It's all paperwork. And since it's a juvenile, no information goes out, not even with an foi. On paper he's arrested, and he gets a pass on paper no one appears in court. It's all made up and they never will have to present evidence to the contrary.

Your friend is wrong!!

Tell your friend downtown he doesn't know what he is talking about. Offender was ordered held in custody today at Juvenile Court.
Unless the judge ordered a ghost to the Audy Home.

I was part of the investigation and I hate to tell u guys it was actually all a random incident. He wasn't meeting the "weed man" or doing shady stuff. He got robbed and rolled by a little wannabe thug. I know everyone wanted to make it into something else but it is what it is. And on a side note... The mayors kid and the mayors people including his wife Amy were pretty cooperative and helpful during this whole thing. I've been part of much bigger clusters of capers. Pretty smooth on this one.
