Police Shooting (UPDATE - 14 Year Old Assailant)
- A person was shot by Chicago Police late Thursday in the South Chicago neighborhood.
The shooting happened about 10:20 p.m. near the intersection of 91st Street and Commercial Avenue, according to Independent Police Review Authority spokesman Larry Merritt. The agency investigates all officer-involved shootings.
The police department’s News Affairs office did not immediately provide more information. No other details were available.
No officers injured, so that's good. Best to all involved.

South Chicago District tactical officers responded to the area of 89th and Escanaba at about 10:35 p.m. for a call about shots fired in the 8900 block of South Escanaba Avenue in the South Chicago neighborhood, according to police.
Witnesses told the officers the shooters were on bicycles. When police pulled up, they tried to stop a boy on a bicycle. The boy fled after telling officers that a bulge they noticed in his pocket was a cell phone, police said.

- Questioned kids (remember, no frisk at this point)
- Kid fled, chase ensues, gun comes out, BANG!

I hope this does not get turned into a Darren Wilson-esque scape-goating. That poor B@$tard did it all as well as he could. PO Wilson was attacked and HE was beaten, but the vicious 300# 6'4" man child was the victim.
We all know one of these police shooting incidents is going to be misrepresented by the race-baiters and the Black Lies Matter as an unprovoked police murder. It is just a matter of time. The Democrats need the hate and racism to keep their most loyal voting base fired up.

You know I'm 100 percent about using deadly force when warranted.... But in the same breath just because someone has a gun doesn't mean they have to be shot right away. Running away with the gun can be waited out to see how it's gonna go down. Turning and pointing is 100 percent game over. Too many guys who wanna play God out here who try to justify the shooting by using the law. The law, and life are two different things. I've had to kill 2 people during my career. When they happened and I was a young man I was fine about... I justified it in my mind because the law said it was a "good shoot"... But, now older, wiser and more in tune with my religion, family and community I realize it's just not that simple. Killing someone can never be justified by the law inside yourself. I'm grateful to be with my family and it was them or me... But could I have waited just a little longer??? Well after 26 years since my last shooting yes.. I could have waited. I could have held off to let it play out a little longer and probably could have still been safe.... But the law at that time when I shot said I could shoot.. But for me it stil doesn't justify it. Guys I'm not saying to give the asshole a chance to harm you but some guys out here just shoot to shoot and ask questions and justify it afterwards... At any cost. We are given a great power, a power we don't deserve but are given by politicians... Not the lord. It must be used wisely. Sorry for the religious talk I'm not a hardcore psycho bible thumper but I have gotten more close to it later in life... Don't take these shootings as a joke and just because the law says you can shoot doesn't mean you have to shoot. You can determin if you are able to let it play out a little bit to see what happens instead of being hot on the trigger at the first second the law says so.. Be safe and use your head. I am a conservative, by golly, I must HATE everyone and everything that's different than I.
I like firearms because they MIGHT equalize an old man to a group of roving menaces. Didja ever notice human predators almost always travel in at least a pair? They're also always younger or larger than their prey.
Maybe you should read that book that regulates your religious beliefs a little closer. You are allowed to take a life, period. MURDER is forbidden, that "thou shall not kill" is incorrect, it is, "thous shall not MURDER", big difference. I'm good with that, I am a typical, heartless man. Some people, usually men, are violent, thoughtless beasts that the only way to stop is to kill them.
I had a close friend who hesitated in combat and the little bastard that he thought was a kid, damn near killed him with the bomb he had. I guess he should have been OK with the bad eyesight, poor hearing and the damn prosthetic leg he wore after that, due to his hesitation that nearly got him killed.
If you have second thoughts about what you did, maybe you were wrong to pull the trigger.

You are not entitled to anything. I am sure your blood pressure rose every time someone armchair quarterbacked you on your shootings, and you probably were justifiably angry. They weren't there.
As long as you have opened your yap, though, let me analyze your shootings. Four shootings and two dead? That's a lot for one man. Sounds like you were quick on the trigger because you liked to be quick on the trigger. The rest of us, the ones you now feel a need to preach to, showed more restraint and used our heads. Can the news report how many victims / offenders of shootings , offenders selling drugs , rapists , armed robbers are the product of a single parent home . Many do not know who their father is . This is the problem of Chicago , Detroit , Gary etc.
They should report every person who gets arrested for a felony, list the charge(s), where it happened, offender name, race, gender. It would give people a better idea of what the police really do every day and what really is going on in this city.

To the veteran with two notches on your belt:
I disagree with you on the "waiting" a little bit to see how it plays out. That waiting can cost you your life. And it's not "being hot" on the trigger. It's saving your life or someone else's life that matters most.
Best of luck with fighting your demons about what you did, but your kids/family/loved ones still have you in their life, unlike all the police officers who have died in the line of duty in the past 20 years--may those officers rest in peace and may their families have strength as they cope with the loss of their loved ones.
