- Gunfire erupted in Ferguson, Missouri, late Sunday, setting off a chaotic chain of events that ended with police shooting an 18-year-old man on the anniversary of the death of Michael Brown.
The events unfolded following a day of peaceful demonstrations remembering Brown, the unarmed black teen shot and killed by white police officer Darren Wilson, sparking protests across the country, and shining a spotlight on police tactics.
Give us a fucking break. We're getting damn sick and tired of this "unarmed teen" bullshit. Here, for comparison purposes, are the heights and weights of some individuals that no one would want pounding on them:

Although all of these men operated in arenas governed by strict rules of the sport they played, we wouldn't want to be on their bad side.
Michael Brown, a known felon, strong armed robber and scourge of the neighborhood, was 6'04...as big as any of these guys, and was in excess of 300 pounds. He was going up against unarmed shopkeepers, not fellow athletes in a stadium. He was also operating in an arena where there are no rules. And while we wouldn't be too worried if he was chasing us, if he was trying to get in an open window of our car and actively disarm us, knowing that we had a gun, we'd be a bit worried.
This is the "hero" of the Ferguson community - an individual so guilty, that Obama's Justice Department, after a months long investigation, couldn't find a single charge that would stick under any law at the local, state and federal levels.
Welcome to the new normal.

I had a friend, now former friend, who started quoting the liberal party line to me about unarmed black people. Fuck him, friend of 35 years but no more. I never got a call or card from him when my co-workers got killed during my 30 year career. I did hear from the asshole once when his drunken son got a DUI in my district. I know the guy who wrote his son, fair officer, if he wrote up the kid, he deserved it, and I said the best thing would be to plead guilty first time up, take the best deal with supervision and move on quickly. He didn't, tried to fight it, lost the kid's DL and the kid lost his CDL and job and he felt like a victim. I told him the police did the right thing. That was beginning of the end of that friendship.
The only people who know what is going on out there work in law enforcement and a few enlightened individuals, and very damn few of them are in Chicago.
Gradually I have very damn few non-law enforcement friends left.
When the holidays approach, all these buzzards will have their hands out. They'll be asking you to give to charity for these poor people. Don't buy into this nonsense anymore. They hate you and only want to take from you. Let them fend for themselves.

No one is confirming it yet, but the picture show a civilian in black and white shorts standing next to the pig they roasted sporting a police crown cap and the words "#DarrenWilson written on the pig's body. Then another picture shows him again standing next to a black police officer in a white shirt eating something out of tin foil.
"Black Lives Matter" wants the portrait of "the Gentle Giant" on the center of the new $10 bill as well as a commemorative "Forever" U.S. postage stamp.

Minneapolis has been lost to the good people for years, as has most urban areas. The very vocal left has made victims out of those that contribute the least to society, but vote Democratic. I honestly don't see how even the simplest person cannot see the problems ahead if we continue down this road.
The media controls what the masses believe. The ultra left controls the media. Many are just misguided. Several have some nefarious ideas that they are trying to implement. Educate yourselves. Pass that knowledge along to anyone smart enough to listen. It is that important.

I think he was given some sort of severance package but here's food for thought: although he wasn't permanently injured, he did suffer an " administrative duty disability". IOD/ Workman's comp doesn't address this type of action, but the disability the copper suffered is very real- through no fault of his own; his termination was at the City's hands not disciplinary related. Unless he's got good private sector skills ( and I don't mean being a Wal-Mart greeter) he's going to have a hard time finding a job. My point is that in cases such as his, a duty disability pension should be an option. I'm sure he's mentally anguished, but it's after the fact and probably can't apply for a duty disability on emotional grounds because he was let go already.

OT...This morning, was a recruit graduation at Navy Pier. Approx. 150 new police officers from the 15-1 & 15-2 classes. Congrats to all of the new officers. I wish I could tell you that everything will be rosey and fine...I can not. You will have some great times and laughs and some frustrating experiences (I do not want to scare them off too much).You will soon forget the messages of the mayor and the supt (and you should). However, as the Chaplain mentioned today, you are doing God's work. Someone has to stand between the good people and the bad. For we can not let the bad take over. Being the Police used to be a meaningful job, I came on in the late 70's and there was still some respect for the police, however this goes away quickly when you have police brass that are ball less wonders who are only into the job for the title and big bucks that it brings. very few bosses now have the backs of the police, and many gangbangers have infiltrated our ranks. Our politicians are pure scum. so the bottom line for todays police is to watch your back. do your job, even thou some ays will be more demanding than other days, but last and the most important is that you take care ofyour family at home, never ever let this job consume your life so much as to cause personal problems, yes you can stop for a beer with your fellow officers, but don't drive drunk, go home and then have family problems, I spent 35 yrs on the job and retired awhile back but still I have to be reminded that I AM NOT THE POLICE ANYMORE and need to enjoy life. I spent many years running around the city in specialized units and I'm grateful thatmy wife stuck it out with me and that my kids are great adults now. SO IN CLOSING, WATCH YOUR BACKS AND GO HOME SAFE.!!!!!!!!! SOME PEOPLE ARE NOT YOUR FRIENDS

Agreed retiring next month, you said it all my feelings exactly! May God above please bless CPD officers and officers throughout this country, its getting to be a rough ride but the honest taxpaying citizens still support us the best they can! Worked it all patrol,tac,gangs,vice,airports,building security nice run good luck to all of you!!

Amen.
But those who hate and seek the destruction of Policing and The Police have
little to no love for the law either.
Especially a thing of lofty beauty like the above passage.
The law isn't "their" law.
They have done everything to twist and subvert it's meaning
and intent.
Policemen can no longer take refuge in the law.
Powers that be are re-booting Policing so that they
won't have to go through the mess and expense of
wholesale rewriting the law. Just destroy Policing to
render The Law ineffective.
And people are scratching their heads wondering why
Policemen are finally in nigh near headlong flight trying to
put as much distance between themselves and a job they

Ignore the laws you don't like and forcefully enforce the laws on people you don't like, like obama and holder. Make "laws" up when convenient, like executive rules. Although you are responsible, blame the guys under you, too many examples to write. Hope you're not the guy at the bottom. When you get caught violating the law, go on the medical like the president of the DuPage College. When facing a serious situation, notify the cc of the events and ask for a supervisor (Lt or above, maybe a street deputy), states attorney, community leaders and media coverage. Take no action unless directed. Let the victims fend for themselves or take time, get fired or go to jail.
or, the city can provide all officers with a few thousand dollars at the beginning of each watch to be given to everyone being stopped or arrested (record payouts on stop cards), Pay offenders up-front and cut out the lawyers.
now go out, write a mover, a parker, get a bus check and go home with no worries.
