Expressway Shootings
So it wasn't our imagination - expressway shootings are skyrocketing:
- Expressway shootings have become a major problem. They not only threaten the lives of motorists, but they have also caused frequent traffic jams as police shut down the expressways to investigate them.
In 2010, there were six shootings on Chicago-area expressways.
Last year, there were 18.
And so far this year, there have been 25.
And why would there be so many?
- Most of the shootings don’t appear to stem from road rage, said Sgt. Clare Pfotenhauer, a spokeswoman for the state police. Usually, they involve gang conflicts, she said.
A law enforcement source said gang members follow their targets onto the Dan Ryan and Eisenhower expressways because they believe it’s easier to get away from police on the expressways than on neighborhood streets.
Gee, what would give them that idea? Oh yeah....right.

I wonder where they would get the idea that they can get away on the expressway. Keep terminating the chases as soon as it hits the expressway.
So, gang dispute resolution may be inconvenient for other motorist on the expressways. Just think how inconvenient it is for the ones coming out on the losing side of the dispute. This is all because society does not provide a private closed off area where gangs can settle their differences and disputes.
We are entering the age of the 'Road Warrior'. Freeway and highway shooting are only going to increase. People thought the Mad Max films were science fiction, but a modification of that day is approaching.
armored vehicles required....no safe passage.... stear clear of chicago.....the feds should foot the bill to armor all police personal cars and police cars, to properly protect for domestic terrorism unchecked. ....If I was in charge?

A State Police Trooper and Another Man are Arrested In Danville

Danville- Two men, including a state police officer are arrested in Danville, after an incident Sunday morning. Danville police say they were called to the Steak N' Shake on South Gilbert Street around 4 in the morning Sunday. When officers arrived, they say they found an off-duty Illinois State Police Trooper. He said he was disarmed during a "physical confrontation."
A short time later, Casey Mason, 27, turned himself in at the public safety building in Danville, with the officer's weapon. Mason was arrested for aggravated battery and disarming of a police officer.
The State Police Trooper was also arrested for reckless discharge of a firearm.

But how can this Sheriff's Officer also fend off bullets while driving at 55 mph? And tommy, since your such a seasoned law man you'll be able to return fire since you recently started carrying a firearm. If a nine year old boy can be shot while thugs try to kill dad ( who should have stayed incarcerated on a gun charge ) what's going to stop another Xpressway shooting? Maybe keeping violent offenders in jail?? We know your mantra is only "non-violent" offenders but the prior case shows that you clowns release VIOLENT arrestees. When will you wake up & realize that your policies are wrong??

As long as Rahm has all this money lying around, maybe he could provide the choir boys an arena to resolve their differences. Take care of business the old fashioned way. No guns allowed, only spears, swords or knives. Give Phather Pfleger a striped shirt and a whistle. Honor students either call ahead to reserve a time slot, or else the arena provides open hours Friday and Saturday nights for drive-up conflict resolution. Closed circuit TV and pay per view. Proceeds to the city. Have the aldershits rotate duty of HMFIC to give the thumbs up or thumbs down if needed. Friday and Saturday are Bring-a-Homie nights for a little extra tag team excitement.
Jeez, the sports bars would be jammed.

In D-Chicago we are down to critical staffing on the expressways. Sometimes only two Troopers to cover the entire Ryan from 18th St. all the way to 95th. Two Troopers for all of 290 out to 294. Troopers are still retiring, and no classes in sight. Heck, some downstate Districts only have two Troopers covering the entire District, like D-21 or D-10 (Kankakee and Champaign areas). So unless these shooters get on and happen to do their deed by the Polk AIS, their chances of getting caught are slim. Plus, we can't usually chase either. Good luck to us all, this city is going to keep getting much worse before it gets better.

Gentlemen, you joke, but there is an element of truth. Black ghetto culture is an 'honor culture'. They shoot each other mainly because they are 'dissed' somehow. So did many Americans back in the days of duelling. The problem for ghetto blacks is that they do not have a 'Code Duello'. There are no 'pistols at dawn' and 'choice of weapons' arrangements, by which they can arrange to meet at some later time and shoot it out away from the women and children. Without a Code Duello, there is no dishonor in instantly blazing away at a backyard barbecue, grade school graduation, or funeral because 'someone looked at my beotch funny'.
Rather than try to change them, we should accept them and their honor culture, but help them regulate it. Set up safe places for shootouts. Provide a way to decline a challenge (which would come with a loss of face, of course, but at least you would keep your life).
Hell, they love their mamas, brothers and sisters, too. I expect more than a few would rest easier "fighting for their honor" if they knew that their kin would not be shot up accidentally (or on purpose) in response.
What is "No Snitching" after all, but a heartfelt plea to let them settle matters of honor man-to-man, without police intervention. We should respect that ... and make it more safe for bystanders. Who knows? They may eventually outgrow it as white folks did.
Just where the fuck are the State Police? We pay big money yearly to drive on these Illinois Tollways, and on top of it have to worry about some assholes not only driving like assholes but also firing a stray bullet into us or one of our family ? Get someone competent to do the job, Rauner. This is a joke.
