- Rabbi Wolfe came out to the Garfield Park scene today, spent a whole lot of time with the officers working the scene today. Always with the candy and the kind words. Easily the nicest guy I've ever met.
Always good to see the chaplains, especially at a scene like this one. Thank you sir.

We need more folks like Rabbi Wolfe. Such a kind and gracious Gentleman. The gruesome scene had to have been tough on everyone's emotions and on every heart. Your presence Rabbi was warmly welcomed. Thank you.
The Offender is a Monster,Unreal.
Co-sign.
Rabbi Wolfe is good people, a bonafide mensch and
just a cool cat to "rappitate" with.
Knowatahmsayin'?
;^)
Thank You sir for all you've done.
Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers
in these hard, hateful and sorrowful times.
God Bless the Coppers working the recovery and
the follow-up.
A pox, the bloody flux and a jaundiced eye upon the houses
Of those seeking to make political hay out of this tragedy.
You know who you are and you stink of shamelessness
and hubris.
The Rabbi and Father Brandt are two of the nicest, most friendly people you could ever meet.
Rabbi Wolfe is wonderful & comforting ~ truly a class act. Thank you Rabbi Wolfe for always being there for the police when we need you.
The Rabbi is truly a great man and a man of God. It would have been nice to see all our chaplains there at the scene to show support for our officers and the child that died.
He is a class acct.
Rabbi Moshe Wolfe is a true gentleman, and he's extended himself to many Cops, whether they are of the Jewish faith or not, on several occasions. He is a good man.
And yet not a peep from the Murder mayor or his caped crusader. I thought that certain lives matter......
Rabbi Wolf is a class act! Helped me a few years ago with his kind words
Super nice guy
I have known the rabbi since I worked in 024 over 20 years ago.
He has seen it all, the good the bad and the blessed. This is a man that supports the working police.
What a family man too. Next time you see him buy him a cup of coffee or cold drink and soak up his wisdom
You never need his help until you realize you need to talk to someone. I still keep his cell number on my phone.
Great man.
Fyi, I was raised in the Catholic church.
We are fortunate to have caring and giving individuals like Rabbi Moshe and Fr. Dan, among others, doing God's work on our behalf.
Many a scene did Rabbi Wolfe and Father Nangle attend over the years. Hell, they even showed up at in-progress calls and wrestled with the natives. Good men, and they've helped a lot of good men and women with rough issues. May God bless them both.
Yes, I am glad someone realizes that work such as this takes it toll on a human being and they need comfort. The children and the old folks are the ones that stick with me , even now long after retirement.
I'm Catholic and I would rather have Rabbi Moshe preside at my funeral than most priests that I know.
We have been truly blessed having men such as Rabbi Wolf, Father Brandt and Father Nangle before him. I too was raised in the Catholic faith and a few years ago I was going through some terrible personal issues when I was working in 19. The Dep. Chief up there was a Jewish guy (don't remember his name)and he became aware of my issues. He called Fr. Nangle but he was out of town so he called Rabbi Wolf. The Rabbi met me outside of the district and talked to me for 3 hours. Based on this conversation, I didn't do something terrible I was thinking of doing and eventually got professional help. If I hadn't been put in touch with the Rabbi, I don't know if I'd be here writing this. I thank God everyday for the Rabbi's words which brought me back to life. A true hero to me.
Rabbi is a class act. I always enjoy seeing him. Thanks always for your support.

This is gonna be all kinds of fun -- giant turtle bowl that hasn't been cleaned in ages...
Police to drain Garfield Park Lagoon in search for remains of child
"Police plan to drain the west side of the Garfield Park Lagoon Monday as they continue their search for the remains of a child...
"City crews will pump the water into sewers on Hamlin Boulevard, which will be closed from Lake Street to Washington Boulevard.
"The east side of the lagoon will be dammed off at Central Park Avenue. Once the draining work and police investigation is complete, the temporary dam will be removed to allow water to flow to the west side of the lagoon..."

Agreed great guy, great wit and knowledgeable, had to talk to him about a difficult situation his kind words changed my perspective! May God bless him and all "Blue!"
I Worked at the Dominick's grocery store at Pratt and Kedzie, in the late '80's-'93. Rabbi Wolfe was a customer and always went out of his way to talk to the employee's and make their day better. I am always reminded of his kindness and generosity every month reading his essays in the F.O.P bulletin. The articles are a great pick-me-up after seeing the bile and hateful news. May G-d bless Rabbi Wolfe and all CPD.
Moshe top notch.
We are lucky to have Rabbi Wolfe, Father Dan and all the Chaplains who look out for us. Very down to Earth, loving, caring humans. While responding to a burglary in progress call on midnights in the fighting 016, I arrived on scene to find the rear of the location being secured by none other than Father Dan. I had to laugh. What a great guy! We talked for a little bit, exchanged stories and I waited for him to code out my job. Thanks for all that you guys do.
All the chaplains work very hard and have helped many officers, most of it behind the scenes. Consider making a donation!
"By his good works you shall know him."
Saw Rebbe Wolf and Father Brandt at the Kilroy/Hauser memorial last summer. So good of you both to come.
A hard business sometimes, this "justice;" giving a voice, a name, to the abandoned, the discarded, the forgotten who would otherwise have none.
Pray for peace.

I too met Rabbi Wolf when I worked in 024 over 29 years ago. Good man, always with the candy and those jokes. I too was raised a Catholic, on the west side in Austin. Back when those Catholic Churches were, well, Catholic. Now they are Make Believe Churches. I swear, if I met Rabbi Wolf then I would be Jewish now. He is the only man of faith who inspired me to anything.
Rabbi Wolfe is a great guy. I was fortunate to meet him many many years ago.

That's a racist remark! You are assumimg that because this body was recovered in an African-American neighborhood that there was actually an "offender". Perhaps this was just the result of a tragic boating accident, wherein the child fell beneath the blades of a 500 HP Briggs & Stratton engine.... multiple times.... severing each limb cleanly at the joint! It's this kind of presumtative, judgemental thinking that makes us AA distrust the police! Ya'll BEOTCHES!
The church u go to doesn't matter.....the way we treat each other does

So glad you got the assistance you needed. Perhaps Bruce Rottner was the Dep Chief who called Rabbi Wolf? Now retired.

That is so truthful, it hurts...
We're at the end of our run.
Been talking to some older retirees on how to
cope with the transition.
How do you manage to walk amongst "normal" people
after spending a sizeable fraction of your life doing this
Chicago Police thingy?
And don't get us started about the nightmares...
The one where you wake up fighting.
Or is it the one where you replay a moment of
truth and your weapon doesn't work no matter
how hard/how fast you pull the trigger?
Or is it the one where you see dead people?
The answer we get a lot of is to basically let things
come to you... Decompress. Travel. Spend more time with family.
Acquire a hobby. And for cryin' out loud, resist the urge to haunt
the station!
Now.
Is a.
Good time.
To go.
The young guys have our sympathy.
They're in for a hard slog.
What's telling is the upper echelon has turned most
adversarial in order to safeguard their positions.
It's not like many of them have actually done any real Policing...
...In the name of the LAW!
Now Policing seems to center around
keeping bosses happy by
bringing in a pocket full of
Comp-stat driven nonsense
just to keep your spot on the
VRI sled team...
"Mush!"
>Crack!<
"Yip! Yip!"
;^)
No 'Reverends' couldn't make it over to the lagoon?
Rabbi Wolfe has a black belt in martial arts, also. You'd never know it unless you worked out with him...class act/gentleman.
Over the years I have had numerous contacts with Rabi Wolfe, and Father Nagle. I have never met two finer individuals in my life. I have enjoyed our conversations, and both men were always available for counsel and help to any officer or officer's family at any time. Thanks for so many positive memories, and your wonderful service through out my 37 years with the CPD. Rabi Wolfe even contacted my wife when he learned that I was about to retire and thanked her for my years of service to the city and the personal sacrifices that he knew all police families make over a life time of service. I remember the card that Father Nagle sent to me after a serious injury that happened during an arrest that kept me on the medical for a month. Your kind words have never been forgotten. Thank you both for everything you do for your flock.

I can think of no reason whatsoever to make light of this situation. This is incredibly tasteless, and you are a moron.
"I swear, if I met Rabbi Wolf then I would be Jewish now. He is the only man of faith who inspired me to anything.

No truer words spoken.
When I hear the phrase a Humble Man of G-d, Moshe comes to mind immediately.
My Heart goes out to Rabbi Wolfe for the compassionate act he exihibited when visiting the lagoon where the remains of the young child were discovered the other day. I can imagine if this were a another incident like Fergerson there would be untold number of activists & the usual horde of media parading around the park demanding justice. However since this was not newsworthy to the likes of Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson nor Michael Pfleger they of course didn't want to be bothered. This is an unbelievable act of inhuman carnage upon the life of a child. Where are the BLACK LIVES MATTER demonstrators now parading around the lagoon in front of the cameras......Oh yeah this is one life that doesn't matter to THEM !
The Rabbi should be superintendent, then we'd have a set of balls in the office. A STAND UP GUY♠️

RELAX FRANCIS! IT'S POLICE-WORK!
Knowing the great Rabbi well, he would stop reading all the good things said about him after reading few words.
As a detective I served the Jewish community in Rogers park many a time. I met Rabbi' of all sec' and they would give you their shirts off their backs. After meeting a few, and when I got back into my squad, tears swelled my eyes. I made certain the children of the chosen people were safe.
I learned much from the good Jewish people. Moshe and the people of Rogers Park live in a part of the Holy Land. The High Holidays are coming and pay a visit to the Temple' and keep a watch as the good Jews celebrate the Hebrew New Year. You will be blessed by the Good Lord.
I first met Rabbi Wolfe in 024 almost 35 years ago. Since then I have encounter him many times as various scenes around the city.
Remember the time someone tried to rob/assault him on the street in 024? Suspect got his butt kicked!! Rabbi probably prayed for him afterwoards.
Never have encounter a warmer human being in my life. His mere presence and a few words are uplifting to anyone. He emits an aura of compassion and warmth to all.
Many times he has made the job worthwhile.
Over the years I have had numerous contacts with Rabi Wolfe, and Father Nagle. I have never met two finer individuals in my life. Nice post. Father Nangle spoke at my dad's funeral service and his kindness made a huge impact on me during that very bleak period of my life. (ps: Nangle, not Nagle.)
The Rabbi is such a gentleman. God bless!
