There it is Again!

The front door of the Hyatt where an individual was executed in the lobby this past weekend:

Can you see it? Maybe if we zoom in a little bit?

Maybe if we circle it? And point big green arrows at it?

You know what? We think these signs must be attracting guns! That's the only explanation:

Quick! Take down the signs! They're shooting where the SIGNS are at!!!

Clearly, if zooming is required, the signs just need to be larger. Then we'll achieve a utopia where only gun-free murders and maimings occur in gun-free zones.

Hate to break it to you, but it is illegal to carry concealed at that hotel (and most others) because it has multiple liquor licenses. The sticker on the door is irrelevant and overkill.

Just this past weekend, the pointy head liberals in Highland Park were protesting in front of stores who REFUSE to display the anti-gun signs. These goofs have the support of the Highland Park mayor, who is anti-gun and is running for Congress with the backing of billionaire former NYC Mayor Bloomberg. What's sad is that HPark had an officer involved shooting at the HPark Hospital ER last year and these residents think that they're insulated from crime. The mayor has Section 8 rats (not Senior citizens) moving in while the liberals welcome them with open arms. They may as well open their front doors and let the animals take what they want. These anti-gun signs are like a beacon which says please victimize us.

Thanks for noting the sign. I guess Hyatt is so overbooked the firm can afford to alienate rather large numbers of potential customers by posting that sign.

Add another crappy firm run by people who disgust me to the list of organizations with whom I'll do no business whatsoever.

o/t: Tennessee state legislator offers a law that would hold a business owner liable for injury to someone who was otherwise a legal concealed carry permit holder, if the business set up a gun free zone, and the CCP holder was injured on the property because he/she was not able to carry because of the gun free zone on the premises....
anyway, at the services for the guy that was killed at the downtown hotel, maybe they should put up posters of the gun free zone that were at the hotel....

1/25/2016 10:15:00 AM....... Hate to break it to you but... If the hyatts'revenue is more then 50% due to alcohol beverage sales, consumed on the premise, your correct.I'm just guessing but I doubt that is the case. The city ran around forcing business to place these signs when concealed carry started.I went into a gas station in a suburb across the street (Harlem) from Chicago, been buying gas, smokes etc. for a few years, told the manager his new "no firearms" sign lost my biz. I was told, he didn't know exactly what the sign meant, the owner was visited by "the guy from the city"and pushed into signing his gas stations in the city and suburbs. He called the owner after asking me to wait and explained the situation. He was instructed by the owner to remove the sign from ALL the properties.Yes there is sh*t in the game just like anything the elected ones do. The sign is still down a year later and the manager has since told me all the stores have a firearm in the biz and the owner has a CCL. No I will not risk arrest and carry into any biz.with a sign,I will politely explain why they lost me and never go back,I have had four places remove the sign after speaking with the owner and at a car dealer at Grand and Oak Park was followed out by the manager begging me to return after returning my daughters lease and letting them know I don't buy new Accords from people who violate my rights. Fight back and explain (like a gentleman) to these shop keepers the revenue they will loose and you might be surprised to see the sign come down. P.S.If you google Illinois State Police, the website has the CORRECT answers on who, what, when etc. concerning CCL.Stop taking advice from internet lawyers, most of what I read here is wrong and will get you jammed.

Rejoice in this new era of the wholly unintended consequences

By this summer.

It will be a glorious day when everybody who fancies

Don't mock the Liberals. They know what they want and how to get it.

Their goal is a failed state. Like Iraq most of the time and Mexico a couple of years ago.

Between going police going fetal [the objective], a military justly shy of wasting anymore men in fights bounded by lawyers with ROE and sufficient numbers of gun free zones we're well on our way to the desired failed state in the inner city.

The goal of BLM and their managing directors at DOJ is exactly the failed inner city. It worked before from the 1960s to the 1990s and it never stopped working in Detroit. Your end state is Detroit or Camden.

Remember that when you get your orders. You have been betrayed as we all have.

Something could change: You.

With respect and regard: Wake TF up.

That applies to concealed carry holders, not LEOSA qualified active/retired peace officers. Look at the fine print on the sign, pursuant to 430 ILCS, 66/65.

I REALLY hate to break it to you but unless the Hyatt earns more than half of its gross income from booze you're wrong. Neither hotels nor establishments that serve alcohol are automatically prohibited concealed carry areas.

According to 430 ILCS 66/65 which lists prohibited areas...

(9) Any building, real property, and parking area
under the control of an establishment that serves alcohol on its premises, if more than 50% of the establishment's gross receipts within the prior 3 months is from the sale of alcohol.

With what the rooms cost there I would doubt that they earn half their income from alcohol.

That argument would mean you can't carry in the Hancock because there is a bar on the 95th floor. Wrong.

Maybe those people in charge of Government, can pass another Law that will make for even a stiffer penalty if you shoot or kill someone inside an establishment that posted a Gun Free Zone sticker. Then we can track how the Judges in Cook County fail to enforce it. They'll dismiss the Felony Charge, but charge you with violating the sticker. MCC Charge. Reduced to a fine. They'll send Tom Dart and his minions after you, for failure to comply.

To the people that called me out for saying the sign is redundant because the hotel has multiple liquor licenses and is already off limits for CCL holders, I am a lawyer. Sorry guys.

And you are misreading and not understanding exactly what the CCL Act says. The hotel itself does not have to derive 50% of its income from any of the liquor licenses, rather each liquor license itself is the trigger for the 50% number. In other words, a hotel bar (or its catering unit, or its in-room delivery unit, or it's restaurant, etc. etc.) can qualify the hotel property itself as each of those will derive 50% of income from liquor sales.

Most hotels in Chicago will have at least 1 dozen liquor licenses for all sorts of uses, including special use, etc.

Good grief. Next time, don't be so quick to rely on what you read on IllinoisCarry.com.

To the genius claiming to be a lawyer......

The law states that the establishment MUST post if they meet the criteria that the law specific outlines.

Otherwise how the hell is the general public supposed to know if an establishment makes 50% or more of their revenue from the sale of liquor? Ask to see their books before coming in?

If you'd bothered reading the law and had a third grade level of reading comprehension you'd see that there are certain places where by statute, it's illegal to carry and bars are not one of them. It's perfectly legal to enter a bar carry concealed with you license if you are not drinking and the bar failed to post the required sign.

I'd write the Cracker Jacks company and ask for a refund on your license to practice law.

Sorry guys. ......So your a lawyer, that would mean you understand that you just stated your opinion on a law...as lawyers will do. Please list all case law and decisions showing the court agreed with your opinion and that those decisions have been upheld on appeal.Until then, your opinion is just that, only an opinion counsel, even with that 3 year all knowing J.D. that makes you an expert in All laws and the location of the clean mens' room at John Marshall. Not for nothing pal,but your on the wrong web site with the "I'm a lawyer" line, most Coppers have heard that enough times during a domestic,D.U.I.,P.C.S.and other tender moments that they are not impressed. No hard feelings I hope, they say that only 99% of lawyers are bottom feeders and arrogant and it makes the rest look bad....sorry counsel.
