First Tour LOD Death
- The Prince William County Police Department swore in Officer Ashley Guindon on Friday, tweeting a photo of her and another new recruit and including a message: "Be safe!"
Twenty-four hours later, on her first day on the street, Guindon, 28, was one of three officers called to respond to a domestic-violence incident in Woodbridge, Virginia.
As they approached the front door of the single-family home on a quiet residential street, Ronald Williams Hamilton, 32, an Army staff sergeant stationed at the Pentagon, started shooting, officials said. Police do not yet know why. But all three officers were shot.
Guindon's wounds were fatal.
We read somewhere that this is the 10th Line of Duty Death by gunfire already this year.

In 2007 I went on vacation in Latin America, the place I was at... Nearby a local cop was beheaded... When I left that country, 2 more cops were beheaded... This is the kinda shit that is heading our way. And just to make it clear... The country I was at, those cops did not mind kicking your asshole in and throwing you in jail on trumped up charges.....20 years from now, look back at the post on the blog... U will be surprised.

It must be said that the "Ferguson effect" is a term that reflects the inept, late, inaccurate characterization of our predicament by people that don't know the build-up of a weakened and hampered police stance pre-dates Ferguson... It should more accurately be called the "obama effect."
Keep in mind that it was one of the the Obama administration's first orders of business in 2009 to lower the budget for LOD benefits and sought to publicly let us be aware of his lack of regard for police nationwide. He then made it even more perfectly clear by not appearing at any of the Memorial week commemorations unlike his predecessor, who personally would see to it that survivor's families were guests of honor in D.C. and embraced families at times in tears.

Reports state that she was previously an intern at Prince William County PD and was liked by the rank & file - which makes her death even harder to take for that agency.
In 1982, Forest Park PD lost an officer working his first tour of duty. A homeless person shot PO Mike Caufield after grabbing the FTO's gun while they were processing the arrestee in the station.

There are a handful out there who still support law enforcement. Not necessarily germane to this specific LODD, but the general discussion here made me think of it. At the funeral for Seaside, OR Sgt. Jason Goodding several weeks ago State Sen. Betsy Johnson ripped fellow legislators, the judicial system, etc. for the fact the multi-time convicted felon who murdered Goodding was even out on the street. There was no media coverage of her speech after the fact, you only knew if you saw it live. This is easily the angriest, most heartfelt speech in support of law enforcement that I've ever seen from an elected official. And a democrat at that.

The next protest they repeat and add throwing words, pushing, shoving and spitting, again no one is held accountable. Then the escalate to all of the above and throwing bottles, & rocks. they trash property, start fires and loot. The Police are still held back from doing what needs to be done. NOW they are shooting.
