- A woman was fatally shot and at least nine other people, including a 16-year-old boy, have been wounded in separate shootings since Friday afternoon on the city's South and West sides, Chicago police said.
The woman, Shari Graham, 30, of the 7700 block of South Paulina Street, was pronounced dead at 10:31 p.m. Friday at Stroger Hospital of Cook County, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Graham is at least the 101st person to be killed in 2016 with the second month of the year not over yet, according to data kept by the Chicago Tribune.

- 1997 was the last time Chicago put up 100+ homicides in the first two months of the year, and that year wrapped up with 761. Nothing to see here folks…
With medical advances and the speed of notification via cell phone, we thing 761 is a high bar to shoot for (literally). However, we'll bet on at least 600.

One guy who was 100 percent against VRI because it was a "scarecrow" detail that did nothing because of constant zero activity is McNaughton who now runs compstat. He is already Angelina for vri to be done and to pressure the units and teams to work in the boxes instead

I am sick and tired of hearing about the murder count. This statistic is probably being used by the city because it is the most favorable. The statistical comparison I want to see is the total people injured or killed by violence year to year. Medical technology has improved greatly since the 90's and most certainly since the 60's. The treatments and techniques developed on the battlefields of Iraq are being utilized in ER's here. They literally can raise the dead in trauma surgery. This city should be exposed for the fraud they have perpetuated by continually using the murder count as a measure of violence reduction. Where can we get a hold of the total number of people injured or killed by the violence in Chicago?

Why do politicians from local to Feds , news media , radio , television , newspaper always describe only the race when a White Police Officer is forced to use deadly force against a black . The recent murder by a black army sgt. Ambushing a female White Police Officer is not reported . Also the everyday murders of our citizens never report black gang members execute6 year old black child , or 72 year old black woman murdered by black teens.
Maybe because that white police officer was most likely forced to use deadly force after being attacked with a gun , knife or a black thug was fleeing a felony and tried to disarm the white police officer .
It is a way to divide the citizens and make more exciting news of black criminals looting , committing arson , beating innocent people .
That is why , does anyone believe that politicians believe black lives matter , none would allow any of the recent black thugs within a mile of their families , homes or schools .
