Homicide Discrepancy
- Since late Friday afternoon, two people were killed and at least 17 others have been wounded in shootings across the city in what is already shaping up to be a violent year in Chicago.
There have been 95 homicides in Chicago since the start of the year, according to Chicago Police Director of News Affairs Anthony Gugliemi. The number is almost double the 48 reported at this time last year.

Quite frankly, we trust HeyJackass.com more than the Department (which has every reason to lie) and certainly more than Channel 7 (who wants "access" and has proven time and again that they'll toe Rahm's line to get it).

HeyJackass lists the race, gender, location and time of the homicide. This is something the tribune and sun times doesn't do so their homicide numbers can't be tracked. When they say 95 nobody has anything on them to call them on.

The department doesn't count murders from people shot years prior on to the current years total. They also don't count justifiable homicides as murders, i.e. the police shooting in 007 and the trash that got killed by the store keeper that were trying to rob the joint.

What about the Medical Examiner's stat of 103, and that was reported by Sneed earlier in the week? Not that it make much difference, the homicide rate is rising rapidly,and none of the policies or strategies are working to stop it, that is the bottom line. Why were two female Officers stripped of their police powers in 019? Something about a shooting where nobody was hit, but the story did not match the video? If cops are going to be held to strict expectations regarding the difference between a video and their oral or written report; then a whole new protocol must be developed, allowing the officer to review the tape before he/she commits to a report. Witnessing violence has varying impact on people, so what an officer experiences is remembered differently, by different officers. What an officer states immediately following a traumatic situation, may not be accurate. Remember, the Feds wait 48 hrs. to interview their people following an OIS. Baby"G"

Been awful quiet was it a cartel hit? With all the "cameras" and they did not catch a criminal! Thought rahms solution to letting police manpower go dangerously low was the "cameras"! Release the video rahm, there must be video correct?

They also determine on their own what is a homicide even if the dics are still classifying it as a death investigation. So true! Rahm thinks he is royalty but the reality is nothing but a terrible manager a liar in the democratic mold! Really he lies and says his family should be treated like everyone else, does everyone else have a fleet of overpaid so called bodyguards? Then again not 1 of them can hold anything except for hangers for rahms clothes perhaps moving around the wedding dress! The lemmings getting killed everyday police are how many down? Pension stolen from how about the 500 million paid yet Mike Lappe?

The Mayor thinks a justified homicide does not count in stats! If robbers are shot committing robberies then what should that be?
May be a new stat, we can call it goofs who think they deserve more than 1 warning!
We should count it separate so the media can keep track of how many people were saved by carried concealed.
