I'll finish my last 3 years here in the condo when we retire then we move to our house in orange beach Alabama. The writing was on the wall up in 015. It's not going to get better up there.. Its time for post shooting missions, Violence Reduction Initiative patrols, P.O.D. surveillance cameras on each corner, violence reduction zones/boxes, seat belt missions, outdoor roll calls, gang loitering enforcement missions, Cease Fire BBQs, Cease Fire anti-violence rallies, Cease Fire t-shirt pass outs and police misconduct themed community meetings blaming the police narrated by storefront reverends.
Its time to initiate a critical analysis of this “ community in need” assuring that adequate soup kitchens, homeless shelters, needle exchange facilities, drug rehab co-ops, transitional correctional facilities for recovering ex-cons and public assistance resources for disadvantaged resident from across the city. Its time to implement those progressive changes needed to be more inclusive and most welcoming for at risk residents. Such progressive sponsored programs have seen great successes reducing violence in impoverished communities on the south and west sides.
Now is the time for Sauganash to be more inclusive taking in disadvantaged residents from across the city. Imagine the amount of resources Sauganash offers making available for transfer to those who most need help. It would be in compliance with democrat marketed themes of “Together We Can” and “Hope and Change”. As nice as Sauganash is - you pay high property taxes & get no city services. When i retired i moved to Skokie, my snow is plowed curb to curb in 24 hours, alley and sidewalk plowed if it is more than 6 inches within 48 hours. Two trash collections a week. A good park system, there still are proactive police officers, a top notch fire dept. The property tax levied by the village have not gone up in 30 years. Glad i moved out. Not happy that some of our Section 8 residents are CHA transplants but many have moved once the PD became aware of their new "citizens." And the greedy real estate agents were given a hard time by residents who know that Section 8 can also be used by senior citizens who generally obey the law. Now if only the state & county could get their act together.

Uh, Sauganash is in 017. The nice parts of 017 are AT LEAST as nice as 016 and certainly better than your condo in Canaryville. The water out south must be tainted, makes memories bad. 015 was turning to shit when I was a preteen in the 60's, 025 has bad areas and some that are ok. It's a shame that the Republican or any other party will not support any candidates for the offices where the incumbent democrats are unopposed. Hard to vote the mutts out when there is no one else to vote for. It's not really a democracy and you get what you pay for!

Yes, we are 'all the same', born to die, one way or another, sooner or later, by design, intent and purpose.

Read the 16th district crime bulletin this week. Because no one is stopping the police is Weston Southsiders feel safe drive into our neighborhood. This would not have happened a few years ago as it would have been immediately stopped and queried as to why they were in our neighborhood

I was down at the Daley Center and noticed the American flag was not at lowered to morn the death of US Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. I have also noticed a few Police Stations have not lower the American flag as well. I guess Mayor Emanuel cant be decent in any capacity.

Nor should it be! Scalia wasn't the Mayor, or the President...he was a FEDERAL employee...a judge, albeit a Supreme Court judge, but one of nine. Pull your head out of your ass, Francis! All flags in front of FEDERAL buildings are at half staff. That's a befitting tribute to a man of his stature, but it's more than adequate.

A PROCLAMATION
As a mark of respect for Antonin Scalia, Associate Justice of the United States, I hereby order, by the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the United States of America, including section 7 of title 4, United States Code, that the flag of the United States shall be flown at half-staff at the White House and on all public buildings and grounds, at all military posts and naval stations, and on all naval vessels of the Federal Government in the District of Columbia and throughout the United States and its Territories and possessions until sunset, on the day of interment. I also direct that the flag shall be flown at half-staff for the same period at all United States embassies, legations, consular offices, and other facilities abroad, including all military facilities and naval vessels and stations.

This shooting has brought attention to this community in need. Its time for post shooting missions, Violence Reduction Initiative patrols, P.O.D. surveillance cameras on each corner, violence reduction zones/boxes, seat belt missions, outdoor roll calls, gang loitering enforcement missions, Cease Fire BBQs, Cease Fire anti-violence rallies, Cease Fire t-shirt pass outs and police misconduct themed community meetings blaming the police narrated by storefront reverends.
Its time to initiate a critical analysis of this “ community in need” assuring that adequate soup kitchens, homeless shelters, needle exchange facilities, drug rehab co-ops, transitional correctional facilities for recovering ex-cons and public assistance resources for disadvantaged resident from across the city. Its time to implement those progressive changes needed to be more inclusive and most welcoming for at risk residents. Such progressive sponsored programs have seen great successes reducing violence in impoverished communities on the south and west sides.
Now is the time for Sauganash to be more inclusive taking in disadvantaged residents from across the city. Imagine the amount of resources Sauganash offers making available for transfer to those who most need help. It would be in compliance with democrat marketed themes of “Together We Can” and “Hope and Change”. Imagine the good which can be integrated into this community making it most affluent in culture and diversity.

guess you havent been house hunting in mt greenwood recently. We just bought a 4 bed raised ranch... brick, not plywood for 225,000. finished basement. House was built in 1965 and needs updating thats about it.. not bad for that price. 435??? hahaha, yeah ok. Just by you throwing out that price shows youre a north sider. Trust me, we see how much the small box georgians go for up there. You guys should be embarrassed with the asking prices of houses, taxes you fools have to pay and obviously the increased crime.... good luck my northside friend.
