Naperville?
We've been told for years on the blog that Naperville is a veritable paradise. A haven for law and order. A fed living on every single block. But then this:
- A Papa John's pizza store was robbed Saturday night by a man armed with a gun, Naperville police and store officials said Sunday.
The suspect, described as a white man wearing a gray hoody, entered the 1220 W. Ogden Ave. business at about 7:10 p.m., displayed a handgun and obtained an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing, police Cmdr. Jason Arres said in a news release.
The robbery marks the fifth to have taken place in Naperville since Jan. 18, when 7-Eleven stores at 351 E. Bailey Road and 1490 E. Chicago Ave. – about three miles apart – were held up between 3:55 and 4:15 a.m., according to Naperville police. The suspect in both cases is believed to be the same person, described as a white man in his mid-30s standing about 6-foot-2 and weighing about 200 pounds. He wore dark clothing and a hat, partially covered his face and carried a dark-colored handgun or weapon, police said.
Sounds like Naperville is a hell-hole of gun crime run amok....like Englewood, except that the media can't wait to tell you the description of Naperville's armed robbers.

A 6'2 200lb white male in Naperville... Should be easy to find. I am going to march in downtown Naperville, lay in the street, and block the doors of business if the Naperville police shoot him.

Naperville blows. Way overpriced.
Your best overall deal in the area is still in decent areas of Chicago. That can change real fast though. If the real estate taxes become prohibitive in Chicago and/or they start taxing pensions you have to leave the state.
Naperville isn't the answer unless you have a REALLY good job in the Chicago area and a young family. That said, I'd still prefer Glenview.

hey ssc before everybody starts beating on naperville,i have several friends who are the police there and yes they have their problems and yes dude is living there too alot of expensive homes a lot money but also section 8 housing too. also it doesnt help that it shares its borders with aurora, joliet and bolingbrook, but at least they dont have rahm as mayor and their police does its best to guard the home front

Ahh Naperville the land of fruits,nuts,section 8 and poorly built new construction. Kind of reminds you of Chicago, but thanks to all the section 8 dumping (thanks obama) over there hopefully we can share the peoples! Working at the airport I hear I am from Chicago, when pressed they live in towns like Naperville, i tell them it is not Chicago they wnat the Chicago cred, but are scared to live here! So that being said we are happy to give residents of Naperville their own "taste of Chicago" The residents like it there, clueless liberals,police without street knowledge perfect place to live we will send more!

That place has been robbed before. That last time it was one of your hood rats out here on a CHA furlough living with his momma in an apartment about a block or two away. Stick the place up and run home if I recall correctly. But I know it wasn't him on this job, he is still in the joint and has another five to do. But we have a lot of folks from the city that have relocated out here. Like Dillinger's reason for robbing the banks, they come out here because this is where the money is and where white guilt is alive and well. The problem is Du Page County juries once convicted a ham sandwich, they will lock the little hoodlum up for ten years in state prison for robbing a pizza place of a few hundred. You aren't out the door here like in Cook County. You are going to do long time so word that hoodies. Many of us are not as friendly as you may think.

50-60 years ago it was pumped up at one of the best places to live in the US. Today, you get people being beaten half to death on the "Riverwalk" by gangs of illegals from Aurora.
I agree with one of the prior posters. I think this could be, just maybe an inside job. But I predict it likely NPD will announce an arrest in the near future. They do a pretty good job and shitbird will likely pull more robberies decreasing his odds. Let us just see.

I talked to a rib place that was posted and the manager stated that the local PD was out asking owners to post and handing out those "Killing Zone" signs to place on their business doors.
Now that's a fine idea, strip to ability of the law abiding citizens to CC into your local businesses and then see how the crime rises in your communitys.
It's a full on shame the PD has this negative attitude toward the very citizens they want to move in here.
And then they wonder why visitors numbers are down last year to their precious downtown stores!

We went there a few years ago to walk the river walk and ended up at Rosebud restaurant. While walking along the river we saw some empty small clear plastic bags containing a white powder residue. Guess we weren't impressed because we haven't been back.
