Special functions admin. Area north and area central deputy chiefs office. Academy. Major accidents. Public safety information technology. Traffic admin. Special events. Absolutely disgusting. In my nearly 30 years, I've never seen such a terrible first group off of a lieutenant's exam. And I made it off the list on both the sergeant's and lieutenant's exams. How pathetic.

Not sure if any from IAD are merit, but the long standing rule was no merit from the Superintendent's bureau because of the improprieties on its face. The merit process (nominations, interviews, etc.) becomes disingenuous when the person who works for the Superintendent is submitted (sometimes by someone who he really doesn't work for) and then is made. Remember Ray Ray. For all you Roussell supports, he turned out to be the least honorable in his final decisions than previous administrations.

Hello DOJ are you there? Still praying that this cheating is exposed!
All of the ones that made it (except one) from IAD were in the Super secret EW (the SME) study group. This is the group that was held in his conference room on company time. A CL number was pulled by a Sgt from iAd who then was told to back off. (He was the one from IAD made that didn't go to the study group). The Chief of IAd (Rivera) tipped off EW of the investigation and when the Sgt assigned the CL went there....viola....no study group going on and the CL was closed UNFOUNDED. And Btw, the Sht that closed the CL number's Son-in-law was just promoted to commander (SL). It doesn't take a genius to connect the dots. Just someone that dares to get the answers.
The IG was notified and they were going to request CL numbers regarding cheating on promotional tests. The Lt class was scheduled to be released Next week but if you read your Dept email, the DOJ requested a data dump of CL numbers which would include this one, so the Dept hurried the list and released it. This way if there is an injunction the revrends can scream racism.
So much for transparency and veil of secrecy and code of silence BS. When you try to out wrongdoing at the highest level nobody wants to hear about. They only want other officers to out fellow PO's. Nothing going on up here at the top, no need to lookie here.

The LSAT does not test whether you'll be a good lawyer and the MCAT doesn't test if you'd be a good doctor. Both test whether an individual has the critical thinking ability required of either profession. It does not matter if you want to be a lawyer or doctor in Chicago New York or Djibouti! The critical thinking skills and intellect are the same...it's the same test. Are you telling me that the world of police require specifically tailored promotional exams because each department is that unique? Those that have worked with her as a Sgt know that she is for her troops, smart, caring and will have your back. She's a rare force in this department where the leadership is severely lacking. Chris Gunnell? Seriously? A merit lieutenant? This man barely qualifies as a sergeant. He got promoted barely 2 years ago to sergeant and got sent to 007 where he couldn't do the job and had to be rescued by Calloway and swooped to the Academy where he couldn't hurt veteran coppers. In 007 he wrote reports saying that detectives assigned to 007 and the robbery mission team weren't doing their job because according to his "analysis" the clearance rate was too low. He had NO CLUE how to be a street supervisor. NONE. And now he's going to LEAD coppers? This little boy has been coddled his whole career, first by Wayne Milla as an office boy, then by Calloway as an office boy. He's a backstabber at the Academy who regularly stirs the pot then hides behind Calloway. He has NO CLUE how to lead and thinks it's done by intimidation. Just a terrible, terrible choice. All I can say is look the fuck out for this one. Way to go, Calloway. Way to go.
Sgt Papa you studied really hard for the Lt's exam. We believe you. You can stop trying to convince people that you didn't cheat. We believe you. Just because you were a merit Sgt under Keating doesn't mean anything. Just because you are a little challenged tying you're shoes, we believe you.

We get it guy, you didn't make it. Listen, study harder next time. Maybe inside guys got more time to study but they still studied. If you are too lazy to find time yourself then you have nobody but yourself to blame... I've been a Sgt on the watch for the past 12 years. I'm running here and there and very busy just like all sgts. Guess what, I'll be in the next class if they make at least 13 more. There were sgts on this list who were sector sgts, there will be sgts in the next class who were sector sgts.. They all found time to study and didn't just have the attitude of knowing it all and its owed to me because I work hard. Listen, try hards don't just get a spot because they work.. You need to study also. Stop complaining meathead

This list is such a joke. Bulnes- at home sleeping when one of her officers gets killed. Stevens- probably hasn't worked in patrol but for about 3 months in her entire career. Green- another one who barely has ever been in patrol. Fenner- never saw the street in 007 or 004 then to IAd. Gunnell - 4 months in 007 then hooked onto Calloway's tail, has been inside ever since. And these people will soon be in a district in charge of a watch. What exactly do they know about how to run a watch in patrol?? Never mind none of them will be there that long anyway. Only the best in CPD.

Yea, ok, ass sucker-----her making it in record time after making sergeant had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with her husband (ANOTHER MERIT HACK who made lieutenant with about 15 yoj) was one of the SMEs, right???!!!. Funny (in a super-sad way) how this list flips things--if you made it off the list from HQ, you pretty clearly had the answers. If you made it merit from HQ, you might actually be qualified but have messed up the terribly bizarre test. If it were me and I was from HQ on that list, I'd tell everyone who would listen that I tanked the test and got promoted merit. It's finally more "legit."
For all those police who arrest criminals, risk your life for people you don’t know, gamble with civil lawsuits through pro-active policing, risk court deviations, risk disciplinary action by actually doing police work, risk personal injuries, risk contracting some dreadful communicable disease, risk your mental well being dealing with irrational uncivilized people, the Chicago Police Department suggests you study harder (wink, wink) on these leveled playing field promotional exams. Police work for so many has been inside administrative duties not make believe police work such as enforcing laws or restoring order. Administrative people always seem to edge out over the dumbasses who risk everything.

Wysinger's wife doesn't use his last name. She is Maryet (pronounced Mi-Yet) Hall. And I am sure she was ranked #1 because of her smarts. Well, Maurer and his pals pulled off the same scam years ago when he was a Senior Subject Matter Expert, and now it is Eugene Williams and his black cohorts turn. The Senior SME's get to review every line of the test before it is administered, and they can use that information to run their own personal merit promotion program.
Also, one of the Subject Matter Experts (not a Senior Subject Matter Expert, but one who does provide input into test development) was none other than Lucy Moy-Bartosik, who NEVER passed a single promotional exam in her entire career.
Lastly, I pity any Caucasian member (or Hispanic, for that matter) who is supervised by Lt. Nakia F. She is a "hater" of the highest order. And there are those of us who still remember her as the CAPS sergeant in the 004th District. She was the least-senior sergeant and therefore she was picked to go on details. When this happened, she would protest that she had a personal day request in which was approved by the commander, and when another sergeant was sent in her place she would pull the slip and work her CAPS spot that day. She pulled that nonsense countless times, And then-Commander Carter let her get away with it every time.
Isn't there a meritorious sergeant in Area South who changed his last name prior to his meritorious selection as not to connect the dots to his father who was a captain in the Marquette District he was promoted from? Wysinger's female is not the only one playing the name game.

I'm cannot believe how Calloway used his merit pick to select Chris Gunnell? He has a staff of experienced and hard working Sgts but he picked the do nothing Gunnell. Gunnell had every assignment taken away from him because of his incompetence. He hides in his office and has nothing to do with the staff. Gunnell lacks any people skills and will stab anyone in the back to make himself look good. I cannot imagine him as a LT working with working street officers. Funny how that goes. I thought Prieto was her juice from the first "merit" promotion. I guess I was wrong. I'd hate to think that if she were on time for work that day Nate would still be alive and she'd still be a Sgt.

Why do you congratulate someone on a promotion that was handed to them because of family relations, ties to a gold star/politician/reverend, exceptionally good oral skills, their race/sex/sexual orientation/etc, or political donations?

18 out of 36 came from one singular building - 35th street! Half of a class out of one building - the other half scattered throughout the entire city. That's a statistical impossibility - if things were done fairly. The 600+ sergeants that had to study for the test now know why the CL about the study group was killed so fast - 5 from IAD alone! God help anyone that gets MB as a lieutenant. IAD hack that documented lied to jam cops up, but rule 14's don't apply to them. You're a fool if you do any work for him or trust him with anything.

The old detectives list is up and active and will be until the new list is approved by the city council.

That list is beyond fucked up but I have to agree that Moravec is a stand up guy who will look out for the blue shirts. Probably one of the only decent names on that entire list.
Gunnel is the worst merit hack on that list. Talk about a guy who hasn't seen the street since his PPO cycles. This guy has been an inside house mouse since before he got off his probation. What a joke. Good save whoever gets stuck working under that clout baby pencil pusher.

And there are those of us who still remember her as the CAPS sergeant in the 004th District. She was the least-senior sergeant and therefore she was picked to go on details. When this happened, she would protest that she had a personal day request in which was approved by the commander, and when another sergeant was sent in her place she would pull the slip and work her CAPS spot that day. She pulled that nonsense countless times, And then-Commander Carter let her get away with it every time.

If you are too lazy to find time yourself then you have nobody but yourself to blame... I've been a Sgt on the watch for the past 12 years. I'm running here and there and very busy just like all sgts. Guess what, I'll be in the next class if they make at least 13 more. There were sgts on this list who were sector sgts, there will be sgts in the next class who were sector sgts.. They all found time to study and didn't just have the attitude of knowing it all and its owed to me because I work hard. Listen, try hards don't just get a spot because they work.. You have a valid point. Unfortunately, there are a few who hid in a office for months and studied while other Sgts worked, actual work. I respect hard workers who find time to study. But those that hide and let others do his work is just wrong. The clouted are taken cared of. When they are promoted, then they demand hard work. I have known several sgts who had the privilege of hiding in a office for months at work and study for exams. They make horrible supervisors. How can they hide a LT? For example, can Calloway hide Gunnell again? Maybe put Gunnell in charge of inservice training and work with DOJ? He is smart! Just ask him. It will be interesting watching Gunnell's new assignment. Will daddy help him again?
It would seem pretty blatantly obvious how that test went!! My God this department is an absolute laughing stock. There might be a couple descent people on that list but it doesn't even matter the whole thing stinks.
Mark S. might very well be a very nice guy but he has been inside for 90% of his Sgt time, he hasn't had to lead anything other than a press conference.
Shame for some actual working Sgt.'s who are out doing police work everyday. On the plus side I guess we get to keep them if you got them.
