Why All the Stabbings?
- The frightening wave of slashing attacks terrorizing New York since the year began has gripped both hardened city folks and tourists with fear and left experts searching for an explanation.
Through Sunday, the NYPD had recorded 567 slashing attacks, some 20 percent above the pace set in early 2015. Police and criminologists have identified no single pattern for the slashings, which have plagued the city’s subway system as well as both trendy and tough neighborhoods.
“New York has been shocked by a spate of stabbings and slashings in the subway system,” the Manhattan Institute noted in a new report. “After two decades of lower crime, New Yorkers have gotten used to safe subways, but riders are now being warned to exercise a level of caution that harks back to an earlier era.”
We're going to go out on a limb and blame it on some screw up by the delBlasio administration. New York is averaging 10 attacks a day. Hopefully, someone comes up with some form of knife-control or a knife registry to stop this madness.

Not just knife control...but "common sense" knife control.
Look on the bright side. These knife attacks are not as deadly as shootings are. This is the advantage of having strong anti-handgun laws in the city and strong anti-gun laws statewide. NYC can easily live with the stabbings and slashing.
Just catch one of these assholes , cut him open and see what makes him tick . Quite simple , actually .
Knives are smaller, lighter, and easier to hide than handguns and clubs,
NYPD loves to arrest normal people that they find with knives.

And now the NYC DaMayor Wilhelm is hiring 2000 new coppers.....thinking, I suppose, to outnumber the thugs? Put 6 coppers on each and every subway train? Walk man to man in the downtown area to keep visitors safe?
Amazing......and still NO thought of community responsibility, parental responsibility, from whence these NYC thugs come from? What values were instilled in them? Guess that stopping of Stop-N-Frisk, and the DOJ order they are under is having such a wonderful effect....

Once again, in an effort to Protect political correctness, we get less than half of the story! What are the racial stats on the victims and offenders? Somehow, I have a feeling that most of these offenders are NOT crazed White Guys running around slashing folks. As with so much of America, due to our almost Black President, Race is the elephant in the room that nobody dares to acknowledge. While for decades New York City has prided itself on the most repressive gun laws in the country, but they appear to failed in controlling hate. They actually regulate the size of knifes over in the UK. Since guns were banned, knife attacks increased. Those hell bent on mayhem will always find a way. I prefer a firearm to protect myself at a distance.

was in New York a few years ago, didn't want to go, but spouse insisted....saw some sights, including the 9/11 Memorial; as a then CPD member, was very impressed with the NYPD; officers and personnel seemingly everywhere, including the subway system, which appeared to be safe and very efficient. Now, since then, what, if anything, has changed?....is it the uber leftist Mayor deBlasio (who has no idea what law enforcement is about)?....whatever it is, I personally will never visit NY again

Just put up "No Knives" stickers in all windows. Register all knives, background checks on everyone before issuing the new Knife Owner Identification (KOID) cards. That will cure everything and make us all safe, just like it has with guns.

Same problem in Britain. Over there they call it "knife culture" and there are pd units dedicated to fighting "knife culture"
