Make Up Your Minds
You'd think that after Orlando, the alternative lifestyle types would be happy about more police:
- The stepped-up security surrounding San Francisco's LGBT pride celebration has caused two honorary grand marshals and a health clinic that serves sex workers to withdraw from the event's signature parade.
The executive director of the Transgender, Gender Variant, and Intersex Justice Project, Black Lives Matter and the St. James Infirmary said Friday that they are pulling out of Sunday's parade to protest the heavy police presence and metal detectors that will be present weekend.
The security measures were put in place following the massacre of 49 people at a gay nightclub in Orlando two weeks ago.
And in Houston, Texas of all places, the parade organizers have declared the entire route "gun free!" That'll stop moose-limb terrorists!

Everyone has the right to defend themselves.
If I had a company that trained people to get a CCW permit I'd be out there passing out pamphlets saying get yours DON'T BE A VICTIM.
I'd have them printed in every color of the rainbow.
This country is a hot mess.
And if something happens, they'll be yelling and screaming that they weren't protected. I better end my comment here. I don't think the rest will clear the censors. Stay safe, everyone at our shit show. It's not worth it.
Fucking metal detectors????? Fuck you! Aren't people tired of living in fear and letting the government take advantage of it? And a big fuck you to all the police hating assholes.
Forget it SCC! It is Chinatown.
They can declare it that an area is Unicorn Rainbow Land.
Makes NO Difference.
Until you fence it off and control access, all you do is disarm the law abiding.
GUN FREE zones don't work.
Declare anything you want.
The ONLY declaration that works - and works well, is WAR.
Wait a minute! So, BLM is one of the honorary grand marshals of the San Fran gay pride parade? What the F is wrong with this f ing country? Has everyone lost their damn minds?
Again, whatever.
Liberals are insane
Civilian here - How can concealed carry be banned on a public street? I thought that was just about the only place one could carry in Chicago since almost every business owner has the dreaded sticker on the door?
It's San Francisco what do you expect? It's a city that allows illegals to hide there, criticizes everything the police do and they are never happy period. What is the big loss with the BLM folks pulling out? That's a bonus
Phuq'em.....They don't want to go????.....Just less Idiots to deal with.....
So, give them what they want. Zero police coverage. Let them hire or farm out private security units.
People different than us.
The San Fran police are using metal detectors which is overkill as how do you funnel all those attendees through checkpoints and accurately scan them? That would be a nightmare for everyone, police and attendees. Now the gun-free zone is a brilliant idea, of course. That should solve the problem, right.
Brexit... How long before we start seeing it here within the states? Texas has been on the brink several times. 4 years of Hillary might just open up some of these cracks in the USA.
That is perfect! Make sure all attendees are disarmed and in very close proximity to each other with baracades on three sides and metal detectors on the other side. The the gunmen, whoes bullets should be stopped by the metal dtectors, remain well outside the metal detection area and walla! Perfect scenario for how disarming does not work. Either way I really can't picture many attending to carry anything other than lipstick.
"Civilian here - How can concealed carry be banned on a public street? I thought that was just about the only place one could carry in Chicago since almost every business owner has the dreaded sticker on the door"
You cant carry at a permitted event.
I went on duty to a small vigil for the Orlando victims. People were very happy I was there, some even said it made them feel safe. The BLM crossover with LGBT issues is annoying. They have very different goals. In the case of Orlando they overlap a bit (Pulse wasn't just gay, it was gay and brown). I hope this isn't a trend because the LGBTQ community (I'm a straight white male for the record) seems much more rational than the BLM movement. BLM has some legitimate grievances, but they overstep them and there rhetoric is divisive and inflamnatory.
How about a fart free zone.
Gun free zones = mass shooting areas
If only the guns understood that they aren't allowed in gun-free zones. Shit, maybe we could even teach them that it's illegal to just go around shooting people. Stupid guns! Why can't you learn?!?!
If someone doesn't want a heavy police presence at their pretty little parade, give them what they want. Get all of your police away from their parade and let them call when they realize they need you. This country needs to realize that police are necessary, there to help, and not the enemy. If you don't want us around, fix your phones that keep dialing 911 for all your petty bullshit.
If they want to be slaughtered so be it. How did we get to this level of disregard for law enforcement. I know I know, Obama and his little pet Holder.
This country is doomed

They did something right. They declined the Lucas Museum. Must not care about the brown and black children there.
I'm sure the Kissing Bandit will have someting to add once he returns from the parade and freshens up!

Obviously, you have avoided Andy Thayer to this point.
"The executive director of the Transgender, Gender Variant, and Intersex Justice Project, Black Lives Matter and the St. James Infirmary..."
Excuse please, but no one used to much care what the hell the grownups did next door. Really.
It would seem that the old fallback of "live and let live" no longer applies.
As a homosexual friend whom I dearly love agreed with me today, some people are pushing SO HARD these days that they are making terrible enemies, not friends.
Get your LEMAT kit and your Narcan and sweat in the hot summer in your duty gear -- which you are not allowed to actually use anymore -- to try to protect people in the middle of a terrifying worldwide religious war, and you hear this.
I wonder what the Orlando officer who took a 5.56mm round dead center in his forehead and only lived because of his good helmet thinks about this.
I know, I know -- "De-fund the police and we will patrol our own communities."
You had better, huh? This I have to see.
There is no better way to put this than the unvarnished, simple truth. The people the police are there looking out for routinely throw alleged homosexuals from the top of ten-story buildings, and just slaughtered 50 or so in a bar.
Am I missing something here? WTF. Unbelievable.
I'm sure that an awful lot of people were glad to see the massive protection that turned out so that they could safely enjoy their big summer event. Will we hear a decent word from any one of them? Somehow, I have my doubts.
"No greater love hath a man than he lay down his life for his brother. Not for millions, not for glory, not for fame. For one person. In the dark, where no one will ever know or see."
Stay safe. God bless all here.
That's the problem. They can't make up their minds! Flip a coin to decide?

The folks in Texas may have figured out that they receive more federal money than any state in the union. Huge military bases. They would be shit-out-of-luck without the federal government.
What a rank hypocrite Rahm Emanuel is!
He was boasting of the progress made in terms of "marriage equality" and repealing the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy.
For those of us who do not suffer from amnesia, it was Rahm's former boss, Bill Clinton, who signed the Defense of Marriage Act into law and who promulgated "Don't Ask, Don't Tell."
Who is Rahm kidding?
To the unpublished:
The NRA convention is not a "gun free zone." However, if certain portions of the convention area are listed as "gun free" by the local governing body, then the NRA abides by that rule (concert venues, convention hall, etc). Otherwise, law abiding gun owners are pretty much in evidence everywhere - but you would have known that if you attended instead of regurgitating leftist talking points.
"The executive director of the Transgender, Gender Variant, and Intersex Justice Project, Black Lives Matter and the St. James Infirmary said Friday that they are pulling out of Sunday's parade..."
Getting to be more and more of a mishmosh, a giant agglomeration of the perpetually aggrieved -- people constantly seeking to be outraged, to be offended. It's exhausting to hear about 24 hours a day.
From what we get hammered with -- suddenly, constantly -- you'd think that every other person in the country had really complex problems of some kind.
The reality?
Transgender folks comprise 0.03 percent of the U.S. population...
"We all know that disagreeing with someone does not mean hating them. It means that an issue is open for discussion.
"Americans will disagree. So they have to be barred from discussion with smears of “bigotry” and “hate.” But we all know that disagreeing with someone does not mean hating them. It means that an issue is open for discussion, that’s all. If it cannot be open for discussion, we have now entered a totalitarian state in which people’s private thoughts and actions are now grounds for political control."

Very good article.
So what is anyone doing for the quiet, lonely, isolated elderly who comprise a much greater -- and increasing -- part of our population? What, join that AARP? They charge everyone money to send them a useless magazine filled with discount offers on trips and ocean cruises and excursions that people will never take. Absolutely nothing to do with the way many have to get through their day, tired and ill and worried constantly about how to get somewhere, how to keep some clean clothes on, what medication they have to remember to take. Making something to eat or even doing the dishes is a major accomplishment when you have to sit down and rest four times before it's done. Arguing with the doctor you can hardly get 15 minutes with anymore, fighting his office staff who won't help you because they are "busy with their work," wrangling with insurance companies.
As Ezekiel Emanuel says, no one should get health care after age 60. They have "lived a full life" and can be discarded, and money should instead be spent on people "who are vigorous and active members of the body politic" -- i.e., Democratic voters.
Anyway, I'm sure that the San Francisco parade was better for the absence of BLM. Thank you for staying away. Make it a habit, huh?

Those critical, active-duty military bases stuffed with functional, within-expiration ordnance of all kinds (general rule -- if it's painted green and has yellow nomenclature stenciled on, it's a "war shot") -- are being used as housing for UACs -- the "unaccompanied 23-year-old children" with MS-13 tats, who eventually are given a piece of paper with an immigration court date on it. About 85% of them accept the piece of paper and then "vanish into the interior," as it were, never to be seen again.
The federal Department of Human Services runs our military bases. They are the ones empowered to "make a determination if the bases are suited for alien housing," and that is that. Look this up on the web and you'll see that it's true.
Why even have a guard at the gate?
This country is being gutted -- at the worst possible time. Obama likes it that way.
Oh -- where is the Orlando shooter's wife? "There is one rather large problem with one key person in the investigation, it appears that Noor Salman is missing and may not even be in the state of Florida anymore. In an interview the Sun Sentinel conducted with Seddique Mateen, the shooter's father, Seddique said that Salman was "not around here."

Last I heard, the FBI had talked to her for at least four days, and charges of 49 counts of accessory to murder were being considered. Disappeared under a burqua back in Syria, or working at a convenience store five miles away? Who knows...silence in the conventional press.

A coin limits them to two outcomes . . . what they really want is some 20-sided fuzzy dice.
