Now he saying all of this AFTER he stripped the officers so soon afterwards the incident. What he should have done is sit them down for the 30 days as required then use that time to make a decision on what to do after that.
If it's determined they violated policy then relive them of their police powers and continue the investigation then make a decision. Johnson made a knee jerk decision too soon now he's trying to explain his actions....it's too late, he lost confidence with the department members and he will never get it back.

This was a set up for this goof to get some camera time and for eddie to look like the police are giving in to calm the savage. Every press conference we have is inside and suddenly this one is outside with #1 goof present. The whole thing was orchestrated. Eddie is the pawn.

EJ didn't get "punked out" as has been suggested here. EJ has been placed in a horrible position as executive of the 3rd largest police dept. in the country as a result of two very damaging incidents in which young men were shot down needlessly. I don't envy his position at all. It's extremely difficult to defend the indefensible.
Having said that, Johnson should have given his remarks inside of headquarters, and barred access to the protest group while doing so. They could do their thing outside, while Johnson conducted his business inside. It's going to be some rough going for awhile out there. Johnson did the best thing he could, which was to walk away from an unwinnable situation with those very vocal protesters outside of headquarters.

Just think, if the little Rhodes Scholar wasn't out steeling cars, he'd still be alive today.
If you're not all jacked up on PCP, breaking into cars, and hacking away at squad cars with a knife, that too may increase the chances of survival.

Anita will be dropping Jamal's charges because Rahm wants her to. Then he will promise her something that he won't deliver like the lying back stabbing fuck he is. He has promised before and went back on it. Rahm needs the criminal south and west side votes, he needs the preachers and activists who condone this bullshit.
