Champaign?
- A Mundelein man on the verge of starting a career as a registered nurse was killed in an early Sunday morning shooting near the University of Illinois in Champaign that left three others wounded, authorities said.
George Korchev, of Mundelein, was a bystander who was shot and killed after an argument at a Champaign apartment party carried into the street and turned violent, authorities said. Korchev was supposed to start work as a registered nurse Monday at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, according to a hospital statement.

- Four people were shot, none of whom were involved in the fight, police said.
Hopefully, no Chicago connection.

Obviously not University students doing the shooting. There are a lot of "teens" and "youths" who live in the outskirts of Champaign.
Another example of poor marksmanship. Shooting innocent bystanders by the bucket full. Is this a statewide problem, or the result of watching to many gangsta movies.

I'd guess a St Louis connection. Read something about St Louis gangs fighting over drug sales in Champaign recently.
I visited Champaign not too long ago. A huge chunk of the city has that ghetto look. Nothing that happens there would surprise me.
The connection will be that it was one of the same groups of shitheads that cause all of your problems.
There is a direct Chicago connection to much downstate crime. I live about 50 miles away U of I and our projects are full of shitheads that used to live in your projects. Some do gooder sent them down here with a bus ticket and a HUD application.
We had an apartment not far from my house turned in to some sort of halfway house for drug convicts. Not for our drug convicts mind you. The people were all from Chicago. It was just cheaper to keep them down here. The head of the project said we didn't have to worry, if any of them misbehaved they would be kicked out. Not sent back to jail, just turned out in our neighborhood. She couldn't understand how we could be against her great program to help people.
We also have a prison that serves as our direct connection to Chicago. A large amount of the population decide to stick around when they get let out. They don't give up the life style that got them in joint mind you.
There was another shooting later that morning.
Possibly related, so far nobody seen nuffin.
Considering their past behavior they need to question the U of I sports teams.
Big surge in welfare, Section 8 babies fleeing Chicago because of rising costs and ending up in college towns like Champaign and Charleston, IL to reek havoc on their towns. They're moving to these college town, not working, and crimes rates are way up there.

And why should Champaign be immune from the nonsense that's going on in the rest of the country? It's time these young liberals in training got a dose of the real world where the usual suspects play with real guns. Next case.
Champaign is being affected by the savage too. One of the big problems is the state's attorney who seems to be a thug hugger, very soft on crime. It's like a little version of cook county.

The shooter will be caught, we however will still be holding the bag. I would like to know how much public money does the shooter receive, welfare , tuition, food stamps, housing, it should all be transparent if they are receiving public funds, the Mellinium park shooters also.

It's all those free ride scholarships and of course their ghetto families gotta follow the money...
Carbondale has turned into a ghetto also. Murders, shootings, and other violent crimes are rampant down there. Home grown dogs and Chicago dogs are to blame.
There's parts of Urbana that resemble Englewood. Total rats nest.
Gosh if they only had jobs.

I grew up in Lasalle County, approximately 80 miles Southwest of Chicago. Italians, Irish, and Polacks. As stated above, some Democrat do-gooder sent the cockroaches downstate with their HUD vouchers. When Cabrini Green and other projects were closed in the '90's, all the shitheads were bused to small town Illinois. Now the Polish, Irish and Italian neighborhoods, with their once-beautifully manicured lawns and Virgin Mary statues in the back yard have transformed into run-down tenement looking hovels. Peeling paint, graffiti, weeds, shitloads of kids, loud savage music, and of course the sharp uptick in crime. Thank you Democrats! You turned the small towns of my parents and grandparents, which were straight out of a Norman Rockwell painting, into mini versions of the South side of Shitcago! Awesome! Democrats just love spreading the misery to everyone.
All you Chicago coppers who want to retire and move you families to a small town, keep looking. Go to a different state. The Democrats have completely ruined our once-beautiful state. Those bastards. May they burn in hell.

The town turned into a shithole along time ago. The endless doling out of scholarships, the ease of the I-55/57 Inmate Highway to Hell and the towns acceptance of Democrats Grant Money for Chicago's Section 8 overflow it and surrounding areas are laced with carpetbaggers from all walks of life sucking up every last Entitlement the state has.
Half way from Chicago to Saint Louie (for another quick check that awaits at the courtesy exchange) Champaigne-Urbana is the welfare epicenter.
Carbondale is a real ghetto now. It's a shame because the campus use to be nice. Too many free scholarships to the underprivileged have ruined Siu.
Having a solid U of I student murdered in stray bullets from Section 8 House party - that has to have some political ramifications.

Years ago Chicago Magazine wrote and article titled "Burned out in Carbondale."
EIU was giving away 100K worth of scholarships the year after I graduated. It wasn't for me or anyone I knew. The scholarships were for "others" that deserved it. My friends all walked out with student loans, but apparently the Federal Government is a child that's afraid of the dark.
Those student loans are gonna be really bad for the millennials. I don't think a lot of really believe that loan is for LIFE. Those kids that receive EIU Type scholarships, don't worry cuz dat shiiiiiiiiiit on da ma'fuK'in Gov't, Yo
