- Mayor Rahm Emanuel is out for a three-mile run this morning with some Chicago police recruits.
This comes just after he delivered a major policy speech Thursday evening with his plan to combat Chicago’s growing problem with street violence.

But you can tell he cares. That's why he's going to hire how many new bodies? with how many promoted? And how many retiring? Until we see solid numbers, the Department is still facing reduction by attrition.

It is so comforting to know that our mayor is fit, healthy, slim and trim. Now if we could only convince many of our fellow officers to follow the Mayor's example and loose some excess poundage.
1st District is short well over 100 officers. Add that to the shortage in 018 and you wonder why the central business district has become such a shit hole with people getting shot and robbed at all of the city's iconic tourist attractions.

I saw the recruits running with him. It looked dark out. What time does the academy start these days? Did they adjust the hours to run with this douchebag?

Could his Hollywood talent agent brother, Ari, be coaching him to receive the Screen Actor's Guild Award for outstanding performance by a male actor? There is a good cartoon at americanpolicenews.com which shows Rahm with George Soros, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama. Check it out, it's funny!

001 is not short. With all the made up foot and bike posts that don't do any work unless there is a protest they have plenty of officers. Maybe the 10 useless tac teams can stop sitting at the hotels eating all night and actually lock someone up besides a piss bum every couple days.

Well, fucktard...it's been quite a while since I went to the academy, so that's why I was inquiring about the start time for the recruits. I guess that eliminates me being a millennial too. Also, I worked in 019, so I know that Rahm would be up and about pretty early. In case you missed it, Rahm lives in 019. I also saw the story on tv, where it looked quite dark out as they were running, and even afterwards when they interviewed him, which brought me to my question as to the start time and did they adjust their hours just for that run. Sunrise this time of year is near 6:40am, so just what time did the recruits have to be there for this photo op?! Since you seem to have all the answers, you can share some more of your expertise with the rest of us. In retrospect, I was wrong. You're the douchebag.

As much as I can't stand Rahm I'll give credit where it's due and say the guy is in great shape. He runs triathlons if fired every recruit and instructor that couldn't keep up the academy would be a ghost town. Good luck getting those extra bodies to replace the retiring then.

That guy walked by the gym and waved as we were working out. None of the CPD recruits waved back, people turned their backs to him. It was quite funny. Rahm isnt well liked by the new coppers on the job. Metro guy here.
