Weekend Hours
So if you volunteered to work this weekend in 005, there seems to be a change that the bosses failed to mention until just yesterday:
- All the people who volunteered for the in house overtime in 005 got fucked...they changed their starts times from 1530 til 0200 to 1900 to 0530.

Good. I hope this is 100 percent true across the city. F all of you scabs. Live within your means and ban together. The people working elective OT this weekend are precisely why we are working under the crap conditions we have at the moment with skeleton crews. They should all be ashamed
You'll still have ever one of these scabs showing up for their money even with that change. Can't even ban together for one weekend. Complete embarrassments to you brothers in blue.

Just like they fucked the FOP and its members who were trying to spotlight the manpower shortage on the department. Good for them. :)

After the new commander changed the start times by 11 hours.....he apparently said that people couldn't back out either !!! HaHaHa.......Nice ! Great way to introduce yourself into a your new district boss !!! Way to rally the troops behind you ! Your first major interaction with them is to try and screw them ! Great leadership on this department ! That's what happens when you promote incompetent people...they then promote other incompetent people, and so on.... and so on....and so on. Til the place is such a mess.....that it needs a total gut job to fix.
NEVER VOLUNTEER dummies. You never volunteer for anything because you're garaunteed a good fucking, especially by the CPD.

Going to be great weather. First, everyone be safe, dont want to see any "one way" coppers getting hurt. Dont bitch about the hours. Everyone has the right to do want they want, just look at that POS Kaepernick. Anyways, to all you guys and gals that stuck together, enjoy your day with family. My biggest problem will be if im going to BBQ chicken or ribs and which nice cold beer i will be enjoying on my day off!

So they can't stand united with the union, and then the city fucks them. To me sounds like they have bigger problems in life, if $300 is that crucial to them. Oh but wait till contract time and they can't understand why we got it stuck in our ass. Then we can remind them its because the city sees we can't be United because they need $300 for a month.

I am the only person working in the house hold and three kids. I think its bull that when u work to help get a head ur called a scab or whatever. Its called self preservation and until the fop or anyone else pays my mortgage or bills they can keep there opinions to themself.

Nice to see most officers don't even know when you volunteer they can make the hours whatever they want. Here's an idea look into it before you sign up maybe even ask someone who's been on the job for a while or ask ur union rep. Good luck enjoy those hours.

It's funny some of the people that are working this weekend. Where I work, We've got a couple working it just for the hell of it, the CAPS office came out of the woodwork, a couple whores that work all the VRI/CTA/Parks/etc. they can. Mind you, the CAPS office and the others never do any other overtime; and the whores, well, they really don't need it - they're single, kids out of the house, etc. They just never met a dollar they didn't like, and have the time on to get it, so they took it.
What surprises me is that Officers think that the Department / Bosses WONT FUCK THEM!
Did you expect this to be an easy "Sit around and do nothing" day?
Can you cancel because the 0530 end interferes with your family's morning and lunch plans?
If I go to bed by 0300, I can be woke at 0900 and be semi coherent and friendly.
Not if I go to bed at 0630!
What would happen if everyone voluntarily called into the Medical Section due to fatigue symptoms the next day?

If the city was short manned they would force officers to work by reverse seniority. They may even figure out that it's actually less costly to get newer officers to work it. Yes the officers who signed up got screwed. But that is only because many refused to work voluntary employment for various reasons. Yes the changing of start times was nonsense but what is our FOP doing about it? Nothing. Wanna send a message to the city? Hire a good law firm and sue for everything under the sun. Keep doing it and they'll eventually get the message. Let's worry about the next contract and our pension. By the way I specifically remember dean telling us in roll call that he would lower his salary from FOP if elected president. Lying camel sack.

Would you be foreclosed on, your car repo'd, your kids thrown out of Catholic school, not able to make the cable bill, or I-phone bill if they hadn't offered OT for this weekend? I'll bet not.
If it would have, maybe stop at 1 or 2 kids, or get the old lady a job. Shit, ALDI's on Touhy pays $13/hr for cashiers, and happens to be hiring! Coppers constantly believe they are upper class. Sorry to burst your bubble, this is a middle class job, especially with the cost of living in this City; start living like it is! Just like we don't think the lower class should be walking around with i-phones or fubu's and a link card.

Aldi actually pays $16/hour with medical benefits. Hmmm not too bad
