It is not a quota. They are simply asking you to complete the required activity for VRI. I always do my 5 parkers, 5 movers and three arrests. If you do not want to work VRI and make about $340 net in one day sitting in a car then do not do the required activity. Stay home and bitch.

Earlier versions of vri or safe summer or whatever the hell they wanna call it, all did traffic missions during the tour. Big deal. The dumbest thing they did was restrict coppers to a 2x2 block box. Prior to that everyone roamed, got activity, and turned it into the Sgt at check off. Coppers who wanted to work and get activity, did. Coppers who didn't, didn't. But at least the opportunity to do something was there.

I do not agree with you. I don't think anyone in the position of superintendent could or would have any greater success. Things are a mess right now mainly because of the mayor. The hiring of McCarthy was not in of itself wrong, but denying McCarthy the assets necessary to do the job right forced him to do things that got the city into trouble. Look to the mayor and corporation counsel for the entire McDonald fiasco as well as the state's attorney. Johnson might or not be qualified for the job, but everyone knows he is there primarily because he is Afro-American and liked by the black alderman. Don't look for anything to get better anytime soon.
VRI traffic missions will be a tremendous success. I'm sure that the couple of extra tickets, or TSS cards written by each car will be well worth the effort. However, I do see a down side. The violators who have licenses will be ticketed, but they are few and far in between. Unfortunately, many of the stops will result in TVBs, and that will take time away from the car actually being in their assigned box to prevent shootings. So, the shootings will happen and the officers and their sergeant will have to explain their whereabouts, which will be simply explained as TVB in XXX District, generated from the mandated traffic mission. Enough TVBs and the missions will end.

You ever wonder when you right down a witness info and don't put a phone number(that works) how detectives interview them.

Not a quota here. The city can demand a certain amount of activity in order for you to work an OT initiative, because its federal money. Once you are working the initiative, if there is a demand for a pre-ordained number of tickets/blue cards, then that would be a quota. However, if you come in with zero, you lose, because its "Failure to Perform any Duty." Zero shows you didn't try. You either get a blue card or a ticket from someone when you pull them over. Not realistic that you don't see a mover in the ghetto over an 8 hour tour.

LESS OFFICERS no that was Rahm who said three times that he removed 1000 officers from desk duty and put them on the street even though we didn't have a 1000 desk officers. NO that was RAHM who promised to hire 1000 more police officers if he was to be elected mayor. And so and so all roads lead to RAHM
