- How did the Ferguson effect affect Ferguson, Mo., last year? Precisely as you would expect.
The little city of 21,059 already had a disproportionately high crime rate, as anyone observing the behavior of Michael Brown before he was fatally shot by Ferguson officer Darren Wilson in August 2014 would have guessed. In 2014, Ferguson’s violent-crime rate was 545 violent crimes per 100,000 residents, considerably above the 2014 national average of 362.
But in 2015, the number of violent crimes in Ferguson surged 65 percent, from 115 to 190. Ferguson’s violent-crime rate in 2015 was 790 per 100,000 residents, over two times the national average of 373 in 2015. By comparison, the FBI estimates that the absolute number of the nation’s violent crimes rose nearly 4 percent in 2015, and the nation’s violent-crime rate rose 3 percent.
And in most large urban areas run by democrats and leftists, the same surge in violent crime is underway.

I have friends who either worked or are still working in Ferguson (they are just trying to get to their retirement in a couple years). The Ferguson effect can account for some of the increase, but a large part of the crime increase is also due to the restrictions that the DOJ put on the Ferguson Department per the Consent Decree. One of the restrictions is that pretext stops (you know, the ones allowed by the Supreme Court as long as the pretext reason is valid and did occur) are NOT ALLOWED unless it directly involves a felony. Back in the day, how many traffic stops or pedestrian stops for traffic violations/ordinance violations/misdemeanor stops ended up in illegal gun/dope arrest/serious felony arrests?
The other crap the DOJ has them doing is terrifying and does not permit any actual police work. The DOJ said they just want any excuse to go into any other departments in the region.
It's just part of democrat rule. Democrats are traditionally soft on crime and punishment, and only obey the rule of law when it suits their needs.
Well now, see, they fixed the problem! Now your dumb ass is in more danger than before! Fix it some more, you social justice warriors.
So the lady goes to me: We live in a "war zone" do something. I told her the military deals with war zones but ill ask your "neighbors" to keep it down....
Just get some positive community interaction event numbers and it will all even out.

When I see drivers around here with MO plates, I point in the general direction of Missouri and politely and respectfully say if your looking for Ferguson, its that way. It meets with mixed results but I always drive off smiling. They can enjoy their crime and the massive drop in their real estate investment. Couldn't happen to nicer people.
Damn racist white police committing all those violent crimes! Something has to be done! Nice job, Eric Holder. You saved Ferguson and the rest of the country. Those racist police won't be a problem anymore.

To True Story: It's not racist, it's just being stupid. Something stupid had to be said because that particular shoe wasn't available in their size at that store. If they were serious about the shoes without giving the sales associate any attitude, they could have asked if that size for that particular shoe was ever in stock at that store, and is it possible that they could place an order for it? A very good attitude can still seal the deal in getting the product that you want.
The DOJ is coming soon to a Police Department near you!!!
