Getting it Right the Second Time
- A man killed Friday outside a gas station previously had suffered multiple gunshot wounds in March while he was using Facebook Live, effectively broadcasting his own shooting on social media.
Brian Fields, 30, of the 7200 block of South Wolcott Avenue, was shot to death while sitting inside a white two-door vehicle in the 1900 block of West Garfield Boulevard after 10 p.m. Friday, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner's office. Fields was shot in the chest, and Chiquita Ford, 30, who also was killed in the shooting, was shot in the side.
He doesn't seem to have had the camera running this time though.

I got to admitt I'm going to miss that guy a little. My partner and I loved that video. We watched it a dozen times back in March and just watched it again tonight as kinda a memorial to him. We loved the part when he talks about "opening the store for the kids so he needs a place to duck and hide." We couldn't believe he lived but I guess not for very long. He died a proud gangster I'm sure.

I'm glad they got it right the second time. However, I was thinking about how many thousands of taxpayer dollars in medical expenses were wasted on this POS the first time they patched his sorry ass up back in March. I have a sneaking suspicion he did not have Blue Cross/Blue Shield coverage.
At least the taxpayers won't be on the hook for three hots and a cot while he is "rehabilitating" and turning his life around.
But, he will still vote (again).
comments by local citizens that were reported in a trib article, said that the two gas stations on that corner needed to be torn down because,...now get this...because there was always trouble near them.
Obviously, the police need to go arrest those damned gas stations.

It wouldn't have mattered, because in the end they always come back to the 'hood they "escaped" from, whether for a visit or permanently.

Foxx is the clone of Preckwinkle who constantly complains of two many black and brown bodies in county jail. Nothing ever said that the % of black and brown bodies in county jail just about match the crime rate in this county. Now, they have established , what they hope to be the first, a " restorative justice" court on the west side. The victim and offender will have to sit in prayer circles and make peace with each other. Any lost property will be reimbursed by the county. criminal records expunged and no jail time. this applies to all people 18-25 for non violent crimes. Should be interesting.
