Another Retirement Seminar

The first one filled up very quickly. So quickly, the people running it have scheduled an additional one. Here's the flyer:

One thing about these Retirement Seminars.

There will be someone there who will try to get you to enlist their financial advisor services. They (he of she) will offer a free one on one appointment to review your finances including your deferred compensation plan, IRAs and other holdings.

When I went to this appointment the advisor wanted me to fold everything into deferred comp. Then I asked about his fees, it was a annual percentage of what was in my deferred comp. At the time it would have been about $3,500.00 for the first year. WTF! No Thanks.

If Trump wins, and it looks like he might, there are a lot of coppers should consider retirement.

Lets hope he audits the pension board and city to look into the 60 million given away to the davis/vanecko dv urban realty. Lets hope Trumps federal court makes sure the pension for police who Trump supports is fully funded! Finally "America will be great again!"

I went to a seminar before I retired. The food wasn't bad but I learned more looking at the retirement advise on the Chicago lieutenants website! The part about getting your irocc application signed while in the process of retiring was priceless! Something I overlooked at the time I retired. They explain the entire process a whole lot better...

This is nothing but a sales pitch. As shown over and over again these guys cannot beat simple index fund investing. But their fees will set you back plenty. Note the "free" lunch at Gibson's. That is a typical device these guys use to suck you in. Also note the "bring the spouse" part. Is he going to sell you a time-share? This is as clear as a plate glass window, he is just sucking you in using the CFD and CPD come-on. "Retirement Seminar" ? I doubt it.

Why?

Whoa! Not bashing but it's not much of a "retirement seminar".
It's just a guy with a finance degree telling you he can make you money better than Nationwide (or any other investment house).
It's good to get another persons perspective on investing whether short or long term, tax advantages and income. These guys are good as the next, so the more you're informed and educated about finances the better.
But it can't be called Retirement Seminar by no means.
Just a firm who wasn't allowed to advertise up at the poorly run, overcrowded Don O'Nail Dept Retirement Seminar @ 35th & Mich.

(Of course heed the adage : past performance is not an indication of future results, fund are not guaranteed read your prospectus before investing.)
