I'm on furlough. This is a joke, right? Use them sparingly? Is this an episode of Seinfeld?! Sponge-worthy? What a Mickey Mouse operation this place has become. Did Lil Kim sabotage the movers so she didn't have to prosecute as many Suspended/Revoked? What happens if you have a DUI and there's no movers available?!! The comedy about this is endless. Maybe make photocopies, like we did when we ran out of time due slips?!!! I can't wait to see the first grievance filed because someone couldn't get VRI because there's no movers. Well, the judges in T/C will be happy.
It's not like officers have been making a lot of traffic stops anyway. The ongoing 'fetal syndrome' may have contributed to this issue.

Recently, I had the pleasure of dropping some paper work off at the pension board.
Two things you should know/remember:
1. The lobby is in the midst of a construction project, and resembles a war zone.
2. We pay their salaries.
I sat there for a half hour.
Various employees passed back and forth, to and fro.
Not ONE OF THEM acknowledged me, said hello, or apologized for the fact I was sitting in a construction zone.
Fine.
Fast forward to today.
Took the same paperwork to my tax guy.
Large office, lot of individual tax guys/businesses.
While I waited, several of the office tenants passed through.
All said hello.
One asked if I was being helped.
All of them very pleasant.
Memo to the employees of the Pension board......
Say hello.
Be polite.
Will not kill you.
Even the credit union does it.
You can't make this shit up. Third world city, third world police department.

The city is unbelievable they only pay bills twice a year. So if your a vendor that supplies goods or services to the city you may have to wait months to get payed. Bet they have to pay their suppliers and their employees. But if you want to do business with the city then get in line and wait. It's been like this for years. If you a week late on your city sticker water bill etc your fined and have to go to court and pay double.
I was on IOD once and I received a medical bill for ER services I called billing and inquired why the city didn't cover the bill. Nice lady said I understand your going to keep getting an ill every month until the city decides to pay but I'll document your file not to put you into collections. That's how we're treated getting hurt on the job. Ridiculous.

Copper (RIP) told me once he was writing a Parker on some shitbag's car in englewood while the owner was m-fing the copper. The copper politely continued writing the ticket. When finished, he peeled back the paper off the sticky strip and slapped it on the guy's forehead! Best use of a ticket in a long time.
No surprise here. As a previous post stated - this is the same as all the copy machines broke, no paper in the entire district, no inventory bags to inventory prisoner's property, no toner for the copy machines - the list goes on and on. It's because NO ONE GETS PAID when doing business with the city.

The graduates that try to find other jobs that pay decent wages. Never had an interest in being the police till I tried to find a real job after graduating college. If you have the average liberal arts degree and are not a competitive candidate for a private industry job (i.e. engineering, finance, accounting, IT)...you'll make far more money in the military, trades or public safety than otherwise.
People outside of this Department have no idea how poorly things are run here. The only way things have gotten by for so long is because officers make it happen with nothing. No leadership, no training, no supplies and usually without having a current contract. Sergeants haven't had one for a year now. As of today, Police Officer's are now working without one.........

if you are planning on going to Paris and have dreams that this is a really great city, the City of Lights, well, you have a surprise coming to you. I went there on the train from Belgium two years ago. Yes, the same train that the shooters took a few months later. By the way, it seems most of Belgium if muslim. The train station in Paris is surrounded by thousands of people living in tents, most of the residents of these tents african muslims. The area surrounding my hotel, right in the center of Paris, their famous revolutionary plaza, was surrounded by slummy buildings and people lying on the sidewalks. The residents surrounding the plaza did not look prosperous or friendly. We did not do much walking around at night. It is a mostly dirty unsafe city.

I've been out of the game since I retired in 08, and have been west of the Rockies since.
One thing that I've noticed out here is that the PoPo doesn't hand write tickets, but they print them up from the car and gives the violator a 8"x11" sheet of paper.
Two things come to mind with that system.
1st; it's probably cheaper then paying a vendor to print carbon tickets.
2nd; The departments and coppers here seriously believe that everything is legit and computer generated tickets make it hard if not impossible to make things vanish & disappear.
A ticket vanishing and falling into the Abyss ? Nahh, never would happen in Chicago or the Circus Court of Crook County!

I'm really sorry, but there is a reason for this problem. The federal government says that everybody must be included in municipal business contracts and people from all walks of life have the right to bid,advantage is given to women and minorities and when they are awarded the contracts some are simply Ill equipped to deliver the product. PS. Don't know if you know this but they can even charge more money because of them being disadvantaged. I sure wish I could get this contract.

if you are planning on going to Paris and have dreams that this is a really great city, the City of Lights, well, you have a surprise coming to you. I went there on the train from Belgium two years ago. Yes, the same train that the shooters took a few months later. By the way, it seems most of Belgium if muslim. The train station in Paris is surrounded by thousands of people living in tents, most of the residents of these tents african muslims. The area surrounding my hotel, right in the center of Paris, their famous revolutionary plaza, was surrounded by slummy buildings and people lying on the sidewalks. The residents surrounding the plaza did not look prosperous or friendly. We did not do much walking around at night. It is a mostly dirty unsafe city.
Nope, no desire to goto that liberal slummy refugee loving dirt hole of a city. Just wanted to talk about the app and how fucked up things have gotten all around everywhere.

Did a few small stops during a cruise in Europe. My observation is that most of the europeans were not happy to see Americans, and were for the most part unfriendly and subtly annoyed with our presence. They would conduct business with you, take your money, then just wanted to out of their store, restaurant, etc. In Venice, there were shady Somalian refugees hanging on every other corner at the break of dawn. I wouldn't waste time or money going back because these countries are letting themselves go to shit. If it weren't for American soldiers, they'd all be speaking Russian. Soon they'll all be speaking arabic because they're too stupid to recognize an invasion when it is bombing them right in the ass.

I would be willing to bet that your increase will be the smallest that you will see in the coming years. I am in south burbs and was just reassessed and I expect an increase somewhere between $1500 and $2000. And, you will have to pay for the pensions in the coming few years, billions.
