Public Safety Injuries
- Two Chicago police officers were hurt in a traffic crash Tuesday evening in the South Side's Englewood neighborhood, authorities said.
The officers were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where they were reported in good condition.
Another copper got bitten downtown, but we can't find any media coverage of that.
Firefighters had a rough weekend, too:
Firefighters had a rough weekend, too:
- Four people were injured, including three firefighters, in a three-alarm fire Wednesday morning in the Logan Square neighborhood on the Northwest Side
Firefighters were on the scene at 10:06 a.m. battling the fire in the 1800 block of North Kimball, according to a Chicago Fire Department spokesperson.
Fighting fires isn't a profession we ever desired. Fighting fires in near 90 degree heat in bunker gear isn't anything we'd do on purpose.
A speedy recovery wished to all of the injured.

Firefighters are some tough hombres. No doubt about it.
Best wishes to our fellow First Responders for a full recovery.
As far as the firefighters I don't care what they do when there's not a fire but I'll tell you this when there is a fire it is a tough job not for me being the police is one thing it is also extremely dangerous but I'm not gonna going to a fire! In these turbulent times may God please bless the Chicago Police Department and the Chicago fire department law-enforcement and firefighters everywhere and may God also bless our president Donald Trump!
There is no crime downtown. Ask Rahm.
Hey SCC.
As we become numb to the carnage and destruction that drones on in Chiraq......could you image a single weekend WITHOUT any
Public Safety servants??? One weekend with NO police, NO firefighters, NO paramedics.
Chiraq left in the hands of its own inhabitants? Left to protect each other? THAT would be some interesting social experiment!!
In all seriousness, this city would rival the worst the entire world has to offer.
Prayers to the Officers for a speedy recovery.
I can take hot weather better than cold weather, but firefighters... I'm glad they're everywhere.
J.J.
Hats off to Firefighters, yes...not to "folks" who were given the job and masquarade in firefighter uniforms -- people hired and then passed through the CFD academy because of race, gender, politics and affrmative action -- all sideways hires thanks to the idiot liberal federal judges here who ruled these people be hired...like the 111 from 1995 and the 20 females and so on and so on...this is why 2-11s are elevated to 3-11s and more...Quality of force is decimated...inmates running the asylum. Sickening.
And the kicker with the firefighters....the CFD chief ruled their conditions as "non duty" injuries....
No, I'm not bullshitting...
