CPS Teacher Charged
- A Chicago Public School Teacher was charged with illegally dealing ammunition and gun accessories on Chicago's South Side, according to a complaint filed Thursday by the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Prosecutors said Brent Turpin, a teacher at Kershaw Magnet School, supplied a convicted felon who was working with the FBI with a handgun magazine, a laser sight and two boxes of ammunition.
Turpin, 53, is charged with one count of conspiracy to dispose of a firearm and ammunition to a known felon, and one count of disposing ammunition to a known felon. He was due in court for a detention hearing at 3 p.m.
Karen Lewis was unavailable for comment.

So does this mean all CPS teachers are bad, kind of like how all CPD officers are now bad because of the actions of few? Will this make national news? Doubtful.

Going by the slap on the wrist the serial straw buyers get for multiple guns, proportionately he should be released at his arraignment and his record expunged.

Apparently the lndiana gun seller asked him to show an lD in order to buy and he refused.
This must be fake news because the democrats have said time and time again that you don't have to show ANY form of identification to buy a gun in lndiana.
Later, Lewis said "See, this is why our teachers need a pay increase. They are forced to seek a 2nd job to help make ends meet. And in this case, all he was doing was helping someone who has been oppressed by the system, because that's what we do."
They'll probably end up sentencing him to community service like Simone Mousheh.

So the crime is talking about buying the sights, magazine, and accessories? Since it was Indiana, you're allowed to buy the ammunition anyway...which he didn't buy. Seems like attempted entrapment...Now I saw a kid go into Chucks Dolton Gun Shop and get a couple of 30 round banana clips for an AK, when the owner asked the kid,,,think his name was Louie or Goodie, it was 06..the kid said.."I needs it...I can't hit shit."

Since when is a magazine or laser sight illegal, even for a felon.? The ammunition is a big no-no.

What does it matter that he is a cps teacher and why is that info supposed to be made public. and why did the cfd lt shooting have anything to do with him being a fireman, NOTHING and why was that told to the public who now want to shoot any cfd member. building the trust of the community is bs. now fireman are targets because they are people who are forced to live in a city plagued by gun violence and therefore choose to protect themselves with conceal carry law and then this city has to make him the bad guy for protecting himself because he is a fireman and then now put other fireman in danger for their lives.

With all the hype about the gun task force with the feds investigating illegal gun, this is what they come up with, a magazine, a gun sight and couple of boxes of ammo. This is liken to fighting the drug war with a one nickel bag of weed. This is what the feds do, they get some low level idiot for some bullshit, then turn him into an informant. This is a thin line case of entrapment and an embarrassment to law enforcement. I can't help thinking of an old TASK FORCE AREA #1 guy telling me, we are eagles and we don't hunt flies. Hey feds, I hope your not stating another fast and furious program; there's a lot of obama hold overs in the FBI. Don't trust any of these FBI Agents working in these groups.

To me the most interesting part is that he attempted to buy a gun but was REFUSED when he wouldn't produce a valid DL.
And iirc that DL has to be an Indiana DL if the seller is a private party. And if its from a Licensed FFL Dealer, the gun must be shipped (you don't walk out with a gun) to a Licensed FFL Dealer, in Illinois in the case. That FFL Dealer then does the whole background check thing. And then after a state's mandatory waiting period you pick up the weapon.
One thing is for sure, this whole 'Indiana has Lax Gun Laws' is total bullshit. You do not just go into an Indiana Gun Store and waltz out with an M-60 on a bi-pod, 5,000 rounds of ammo, and Kevlar body armor. And you sure as hell don't come out with a Full Auto M-16 or AK-47 as democrats love to say.
All this 'State "X" has Lax Gun Laws' only only 'true' when those state's Pro 2A Laws are compared to the draconian, anti 2A Laws, in states like IL, NY, and California, aka Liberal Utopias.
Annnnd, last I checked all Federal Firearm Laws are valid in every state -- like Illinois and Indiana -- contrary to what democrat politicians infer when giving their anti gun screeds.
It a bigger news story to molest students than supply them with guns and ammo.
Besides, at 53 years old and turning his life around he will be released on bond.
The pistol was for protection and this charge is bogus man.
Lenient Chicago North District Federal judge will toss the case for lack of public interest.
Clear all the courts, JVD case is coming and they want to wrap things up before Thanksgiving.

True true, but let me just say it again and again, you new police, the FBI are not your friend, they will jack you up in a NY minute. I speak from much experience in dealing with the fed and all of this got its start with the 1968 Dem Convention and evolved to its present form. Never trust any of these cocksuckers, they look upon you as inferior and beneath them in all aspects of law enforcement. Lastly, don't give them any information,especially giving up an informant. When they try to pick your brain, dummy up. Believe me, its that bad, the FBI is a oneway street, use and fuck the local police.
Maybe the teacher was going to start a Gunsmithing class. ♠️
