- After insisting for three months that there was no need for a federal judge to oversee reforms at the Chicago Police Department sparked by the fatal shooting of Laquan McDonald, Mayor Rahm Emanuel reversed course Tuesday morning.
While denying that he had experienced a change of heart, Emanuel said he would "partner" with Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan who filed suit against the city Tuesday demanding that a federal judge oversee the reform effort.
The reforms were prompted by a U.S Justice Department finding that Chicago police officers routinely violated the civil rights of residents by using excessive force. It also found that officers were poorly trained and lacked supervision.
Never have so many demanded so much with so little evidence.
In any event, Rahm is proving once again what a fickle and spineless dwarf he truly is. All this "reform" is so much smoke and mirrors, and Lisa pushing this is someone else's agenda - she hasn't found a single instance of Machine corruption in how many years, yet she's pushing a consent decree that, from all reports, the Department of Justice has no intention of funding.
So where is the money for this "outside" overseer coming from? And more importantly, where is all the money going to go? We're betting it's going to be a connected "insider" who will hire all sorts of staff at six-figure salaries and have an open ended mission to railroad any/everyone they can. Remember where you heard it.

If the mayor's action don't wake some of you non-voters up, I'm not sure what will. You all need to be registered to vote. You all need to make sure that all of your friends and family members are registered to vote. At election time you and they need to show up at the polls and cast a ballot.
We need to form a strong voting bloc and elect those that are allies and not enemies. At the very least, even if unsuccessful at the polls, it will send a message to those in power that we are a force to be reckoned with.

Isn't he a fleeing felon, or did intentionally running over people somehow become a misdemeanor. Was the person teaching the class a Lawyer or an ASA trained in the use of deadly force? It contradicts the Illinois Law, so therefore, this is just another department policy and not a change in the law.

How come there is never a finding, heck never even the questions posed, about the "training" and "supervision" regarding the "routine: ummm VIOLENCE that the umm :community: is committing regularly to the tune of hundred of murders and thousands upon thousands of shooting wounded?

I am sorry to inform you but your contract was voided when the POS 9.5 took away the insurance from the retired officers! When that happened two things were clear to me...
1) The FOP is useless and no one has any balls or brains because you are all going to retire someday and you let them take that away from some people who were/are cripples...SHAME SHAME!! HAVE SOME BALLS AND FIGHT BACK!!!
2) That POS 9.5 should be impeached, recalled, no confidence voted, removed from office, censured, hit up side his head for his arrogance, and definitely not a man or able to be trusted to negotiate a ham sandwich never mind any contract or promises...promises, a word not in the POS 9.5 vocabulary...OH AND DON'T FORGET RAHM YOU ARE AN AAAHOLE!!!!

Isn't he a fleeing felon, or did intentionally running over people somehow become a misdemeanor. Was the person teaching the class a Lawyer or an ASA trained in the use of deadly force? It contradicts the Illinois Law, so therefore, this is just another department policy and not a change in the law.

What happens when EAP fails to respond to your call even though you leave multiple messages and call multiple times? They really need to straighten themselves out over there in terms of responsiveness. Responsiveness in a timely manner when dealing with a person in crisis is critical. Who knows if EAP WAS called? There is no reason to wait for a response from EAP. My husband is a retired policeman and has PTSD and we found a wonderful psychotherapist on our own that was covered by our city insurance plan. It made a huge difference in our lives. There are many psychotherapists out there, but we went to https://www.psychotherapychicago.com/ located at Irving Park, Lincoln Ave, and Damen. They also have a downtown location. We saw Michael Vernon who we highly recommend. Your visits are also confidental. You can also find a list of therapists on the BCBS insurance web sight. If you don't have BCBS, most insurance companies do cover mental health. Don't wait! It does make a difference!!!

Maybe it would stop these phony political merit promotions and give everyone a fair chance at promotion and assignment? Who knows. I could not get any worse at this point. Tell me anywhere where they demand that management picks for supervisors be removed and they institute only testing to ensure adequate supervisors. There are departments all over the U.S. that are 100% Meritorious. Read any other consent decree and see if part of the consent decree involves moving people to elite units and allowing bids to elite units. The whole purpose of the consent decree is about constitutional policing, patterns and practice, excessive force, etc, a review of policies and procedures, training, technology, and discipline. Pick up a book. The people involved in obtaining these consent decrees give a rat's ass whether you get promoted to Sergeant (they care about ratio of supervision) or can get moved to a clout heavy unit.

Brain washed poolice, during an escape officer, you do not always need a deadly weapon to be justified using deadly force. There's that thingy call preventing an escape. Don't worry about me, I'm not shooting anyone, but learn the full extent of your authority.
