I just have to wonder where all that data was farmed from; did they scour all the trial materials from all the cases where there was a guilty verdict against this giant conspiracy of evil police officers? There are all kinds of specific "facts" used in the curriculum that I don't ever recall being proven in a court of law or even charges brought for that matter.
I'm not suggesting this is ALL bullshit, but accusations don't always equal truths.

With a 50% graduation rate (or less), they need to work on a LOT of things. This Burge thing is NOT a priority.
The FOP and the parents of the school children have a right
to all copies of materials to be presented in the Chicago School System.
That includes facts, dates, sworn testimony, all references for said
material and the names of the teachers formulating and composing this
"course."
What are the qualifications of the teachers? The material to be presented:
is it merely old newspaper clippings and "oral histories" obtained from people
with axes to grind?
Is it even legal to present an impromptu course written by local teachers and
not approved or reviewed by the State of Illinois?
The educational system was not designed to be hijacked by rogue teachers to
present personal points of view and opinions, package them as coursework, and then
pass that material on to impressionable young students as proven facts.
Most of these CPS teachers are pulling down 6-figure salaries
along with benefits. But they have no right to collude and dream
up a new course to essentially advance their own agendas, whatever
they may be. They may be qualified to teach proven material and
subjects, but they are absolutely NOT qualified to compile and present
new coursework which boils down to propaganda and amounts to the
brainwashing of children.
These teachers work for the taxpayers, at the pleasure of the taxpayers,
and under the supervision of the taxpayers.
The teachers are NOT qualified to teach at the college or university level,
let alone formulate new and unproven coursework for presentation.
Fine, Daley better be in the lesson plan as states attorney at the time. Btw, why is the company who got the parking meter deal paying him 300k a year for life?

Just own the Burge problem. They already hate you this is not going to make any difference. The FOP response is to little and way to late. Where were they on a hundred other issues over the last several years. You guys need to get smart and elect a real in their face spokesperson. Hire a public relation expert and go on the offensive against the BLM crowd. Call out the alder-creatures ion any deserving public safety issues. Get on national news shows and tell the true story. If more people nationally knew about SCC and Heyjackass the city fathers would be quaking in their boots. The real truth about the risks of visiting the city would definitely begin to affect tourism. Then and only then will you see some real positive change.

This is exactly why over the course of my last nineteen years I never applied for nor accepted any of the several connected offers I was given to get into CPS. My family has certainly suffered for my choice as after 19 years of teaching in a Catholic school my 45K a year salary is less than half of what my CPS counterparts are getting for the same time and I have no retirement aside from the 9 Grand lump sum I will be getting for my 20 years of service, but I refused to sell my soul and I stand by that decision today. Roughly 80% of the students I teach are the sons and daughters of a city worker, as they are the only ones who can afford a private school tuition these days and there is always room for more so when you don't like the fact that your kid is being sent off every day to be told what a scumbag you (the police) are, please keep us in mind. As a Protestant in a Catholic school (says something right there) and the son of a 27 year CPD veteran I will attest In God and Police we still trust, the American flag still flies in our classroom and we never strike for "the good of the children". Please consider us when the bullshit gets nose high.

The enrollment is overwhelming with children of Chicago police officers. Speaking as a parent of a child at the school I plan on removing my child on the day/S those classes are to take place. Also, I'm aware of many others who plan on doing the same. The plan, is to remove the children at the strt of said class and then return the child to school after said class. Imagine several hundred kids being pulled at the same time daily for the course of a week.

If you want to teach students about their rights, focus on the Constitution, Bill of Rights and the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and subsequent Civil Rights statutes. Keep the propaganda out of it.

Was it Marty who penned an article in the Reader years ago that gave a bio on Burge I recall as interesting and informative? I kind of understood how Burge thinks from that piece. I would not condone beating people and forcing them to confess to things they did not do but I understood to some extent how Burge became what you may call a crusader against evil people in the city. He followed the rules, the law and saw the law fail to administer justice. He morphed over his career into someone who may have handled things his own way to compensate for the systematic failure of the system. Stay safe and thank you for all you police do every day.

Prieb is the best spokesperson for that the FOP has had in years. However, is he being held back. I used to work with Prieb. Believe me he is a bull in a china shop when it comes to the various issues involving the men and woman of the department. Get your facts straight, this WAS NOT mandated by any court. This was the idea of the chicago city council when they came up with the 5.5
million dollar reparation give away.

Why don't they teach that our government has allowed drugs to cross our borders for years, so that the poor have some sort of income coming in, there are no jobs. How about an average of 200 black on black killings the last 30 years that the government hasn't stopped. How about black politicians and teachers doing nothing to help the plight of the black community etc....

Of course not, so done with dealing with teachers, now anytime the pos kid is "causing trouble" inside cps the teacher will be named and sign a complaint, if a juvenile the teacher can take their ass to the station and meet with the detective, no more taking any chances this was the last straw!
