Demotions? Dismissals?

Word that a Commander of a Detective Area got launched?

And Rousell was invited to commit seppuku in the lobby of 35th Street?

Anything else going on? It's been a while since a shake-up and with Special Ed on the mend, certain powers might be getting their people in place for a long rumored "transition."

Just 9.5 practicing his philosophy of "You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that it's an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before." It seems the kidney transfer created a crisis serious enough to conjure an opportunity. Or, whatever else is about to break would create a serious crisis if our own little Kim Jong Un did not make some preemptive demotions.

We saw this.

It's maddening, and offensive to boot.

This hard-on was alleged to be a "Police Phlebotomist?"

WTF is up with THAT?

Or is it symptomatic of so much in the social service
and medical realm being intentionally dismantled and
shoved down the slippery slope to come crashing down
on the heads of The Police under the guise of "cost savings."

Translation:
This is the kind of silly shit that can happen
when The Police are made to wear too many hats.

Nary a living ass in that Officer's hierarchy
had the damned foresight and mental acuity to
to maintain the "separation of powers" so to speak.

This was also an eye-watering failure by that department
to keep that Officer trained, that Officer failed to keep
himself abreast of the law and failed the basic Police
tenets of professionalism and courtesy.

Why the hard-headed push to do a draw on the VICTIM
as the actual offender was killed in the collision?

"The boss said i gotta get my numbers up..."

Bet you a fat man on Friday that is what will come out
behind this silliness.

Some bosshole had been buzzing in that Officer's
ear about "activity."

When you talk about Barb West and incompetence.

All you need to know is how when she was in IAD as a Sgt.
They wrote her and another Sgt an Honorable Mention for closing
a Not Sustained CR number.

That's correct a Not Sustained CR closing gets her an Honorable Mention.
For the same thing any other Sgt on street does every day.

If you read it it sounds like West was first investigator ever to prove the accused was not involved in any ALLEGATION.

9/01/2017 01:47:00 PM

The only way that can happen is if that Lt Schloss is demoted or promoted depending on her current lawsuit that her friend and highly regarded friend/advisor/confident Sgt. Sackofshit has told everybody that he prepared her response to IAD because he is so good at it. This guy is the biggest know it all on the police department, yet he has not been promoted pass sgt.

And then talking about area north is a cesspool, stop by major accident any day and watch the 'Schlneen' show, its embarrassing to see an adult woman, nevertheless a Lt. behave in such an UNPROFESSIONAL manner. Now this guy walks around so arrogantly like he is a Lt. No discretion just open and notorious. She spends her tour at his desk, at lunch, or on the phone with this guy. It is sickening. The entire building is talking about it. Since she has been there she has single handily run half the unit into retirement and several of the new guys to consider leaving. She ruins every unit and district she has ever been assigned to. The department always talks about building community relations, how about start at home and help build some relations by putting respectful bosses in key positions. It's sickening to see this woman go from unit to unit and screw morale up.

It is a very toxic unit and because Sgt sackofshit is such good friends with Staples nobody wants to say anything, not to mention he and Schloss are so vindictive. They are both downright bullies!

Georgas and the marine unit guys were 100% right about this woman!

Saw the video about the nurse.......doesn't look good.......and the MSM is going to crucify him...

However, what is Utah law on the issue? Not hospital policy, what is the law regarding a driver who is involved in a fatal accident
In terms of what can be done? From reading, it appears that this driver of a fuel truck was struck by a car being chased by officers, and the fuel ignited...burning him.....fleeing driver was killed in crash......still, as a driver in a crash involving a fatality, what does the law say? I know some states have laws that state a driver must submit to the blood test......refusal means automatic suspension......that's how Illinois law is.....a license is a privilege, not a right.....again, so where does Utah law go on the issue?

Now, not defending the detective, just trying to "see clearly" his state of mind in doing what he did....

Would tell people to charge people when there was no probable cause. Once I had a case where I told McMahon I was not going to charge someone due to lack of evidence and the fact they her "offender" was not the proximate cause of the crash. She got pissed at me and tried to mess with me, until I called FOP and they contacted Management and Labor Affairs. Schloss is just a little control freak who has no idea what she is doing. After her EEOC complaint at Marine Unit they had no where else to put her, because nobody wants her. She should retire like McMahon. Nobody from MAIS, except for the bosses went to her retirement.

Regarding Lt (now commander) with no college:

Shame on those in personnel who are supposed to vet all this data, or, who "ordered" the promotion. If merit promoted, another reason why it's such a scam .

If that is true he has to be demoted if he took the test without the requirements. Happened to McCarthy' driver

rumbles in HQ...a certain southside commander is said NOT to have his 4 yr degree -- and it was an issue when he was promoted to Lt. , but the McCarthy driver promoted to sergeant got more attention and some bosses tried to make it go away...now he is being looked at for some type of money beefs...it's gonna get interesting

Who?

Nothing will happen. Clout wins. If they reduce his rank to Sgt which I take he had the requirements, they can still make him a commander. Bryzak, wrong spelling I know, made a police officer a commander and so have a few other superintendents

Please please bring back Georgas, carter doesn't know anything about running events or controlling people.

Agree, Carter is lost. He hasn't realized that the #2 was never a TL. He was demoted because he's clueless. Carter must think he was ex-military with that divot for a haircut. Wrong.

So so true. Numer 2 is a cancer for the team. ML is a bigger cancer who embarrasses the team with his domestic whacked out behavior. Very unstable, should have never been allowed back on the team.

The coordinator only cares about making Captain. His head is in the cloud about how bad the team is. He should have stayed in the district. He has no control over JH or ML that are using this team for their own personal gain.

http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2017/09/01/547840028/-somebody-help-me-utah-nurse-cried-as-police-detective-roughly-arrested-her

Not a smart move by detective, but if the nurse would have checked the chart she would have seen the blood already had been drawn during his treatment and that would have been the end of it

9/02/2017 01:45:00 PM

Was it clear that she knew the blood had been drawn yet refused to cooperate? That changes everything but doesn't excuse the cop's actions.

When blood is drawn from a patient it is charted. If she was treating the patient she would have know that and if she was not treating the patient she should have read the chart before getting into this situation. The whole thing could have been avoided if she read the chart and said "detective, the blood has already been drawn"

It was on the chart. That's what they are there for. Anytime you ask a nurse or doctor any info about a patient and they are not sure, they refer to the chart

Schloss is just like Lt. McMahon. She chased all the people away also. Neither one of them has any investigative experience, but act like they know it all.

9/02/2017 03:53:00 PM

Believe it or not, Schloss is waaaaay worse then McMahon. We would prefer neither, but if we were forced to choose most guys would rather have McMahon back over this nut. She looks down on everybody and we are the ones with the investigate skills. She tries to make herself look like she knows this stuff, but she hasn't a clue. She tried fucking with the newer guys, but kudos to them for putting an end to her madness before it got any worse. Has us all working 12 hours shifts, as if we don't have families, but she adjust her hours to make overtime 'fit' for her.

The way this Lt behaves is so deplorable, she should never be the highest ranking person wherever she works. She needs supervision

ML is scaring a lot of people at the academy where his ex works. Lots of folks go the other way when they see him. Bosses have no balls to telll whacko to stop harassing his ex wife. Lifetime will be making a movie about this psycho.

Harvey Rubin was a good boss in major accidents, but the best we had was Gerry Carroll. He bent over backwards to take care of his people to the extent that one year he totally disregarded furlough percentages in the selection process and gave everyone
what they wanted. Cmdr Sutor was in disbelief when she found out but went along with it as she knew Carroll would make it work.
Don't make bosses like Ruben and Carroll anymore!

I'm not jumping to conclusions no one know who initiated the argument. She may not like the police and have had an attitude. Feel there is more to it and there might be blame on both sides. Of course in the current climate the first thing everyone blamed was the police
According to the article the nurse contacted her supervisor. Why wasn't the supervisor down there explaining the situation. Happens everyday on COD where you contact a supervisor he comes and explains to the citizen

Police should not "argue" with citizens, there is nothing to debate about. Either the police was following law, policy, best practices, or he was not. "Blame" is opinion and has no merit in the damage that this situation has caused. As police, it is our duty not to react emotionally, but to outthink these people, at all times. The supervisor may not have been there for a myriad of reasons, we don't know their policies, and it is a red herring. The Detective overreacted, even if the nurse was being a bitch, which she wasn't. The nurse was just explaining her interpretation of the policy. This officer's behavior has given credence to the opinion that police are out of control bullies.

You're an academy instructor? Oh, that's rich. One must violate the law to justify an arrest, just like the above poster stated. "Starting and argument" does not cut it.

Wow. Thanks for the laugh.

As a phlebotomist, you would think this Det. would have been trained on the law also. SCOTUS case clearly states, even for an arrestee (which this guy was not), cops need a warrant for a blood draw. It is more invasive than a 'blow.' (for ablow you don't need a warrant BTW) Of course, consent and exigent circumstances still apply, but generally, we now need a warrant.
