Bugs? Again?
Last time it was HQ. This time, 018:
- OT, I have not seen anyone on the blog comment about the bedbug infestation in the 018 District. A few weeks ago, the CAPS/Detective Office was infected. As of 30 Oct, exterminators were out and found the desk area, and non-public bathrooms also infected. Officers have filed exposure reports. On 01 Nov the infected areas will be closed for 12-18 hrs due to extreme extermination. Formal Winter Uniform inspection has been cancelled on the 2ND of Nov, so no one brings clean Uniforms into the infested area (good call by the Commander by the way). Once again only the best for CPD and our working environment.
Didn't Rahm just make some proposal to increase spending on pest control? Looks like a big portion is going to 018.

Don’t worry, 001 has that beat. Lost track of the number of times Central D has been closed, the work out room too, not too mention the sewers are fucked. Bathrooms and showers shut down. Definitely rather be on the street than stuck in that rats nest.

Thanks to the dumb ass , hair gel , caps kids , the entire district was covered in bedbugs . All because wonderboy wanted to drive a homeless pissbumb from the street to the shelter . Way to go there all- star. They’ve been In the station since Oct 19th.

In the old time ghetto there were no bed bugs, just roaches falling from ceiling on copper'. Many a copper caught a few if mamam Roaches age on their clothing and went home. A week later their homes were infested with babies and baby started to breed in the copper' clean ass homes. Many a copper' had to live with them for months before they got them all out.
Bedbugs are mother fucker' to kill. You really have to gas the fucks out of them for 24 hours. They stay dormant and when the heat goes on, there are millions.
If you seen them, then they are hiding in your clothing and shoes waiting for a new home. you will wake up, and find they bit the shit out of you, You will look like a welted prune. Get treated asap by a MD.
Make an IOD and hit the medical. If the bug man kills them all, they will be back soon. The bums are coming back into the districts to sleep again. The cycle repeats and the best bet is to close the station and from walk ins and leave the bums to the elements.
The squads are a happy bed bug place in the filth bio-hazard cars you guys drive. They love the vents and sleep it off until you put the heat on, and then the blowing air places them in your hair and uniform.
There is really no escaping them, your best to spray you cars with bad shit that kills them but you health might take a hit with these toxic insecticide's.
Garbage men don't have to deal with this shit like copper' in CPD do. Very sad. Smart copper' will not want to work the desk no more !!
Wash you cloths at the local lauder math and go home in a plastic bag.

Actually the city's plan is to install speed cameras in the alleys to ticket rats running fast in the hopes that the rats will be fed up with tickets and fees and leave the city.

Several years ago one of the desk sgt's had a bug zapper that would get moved around the desk, Stevie G would get pissed but he never did anything about the infestation.
018 has had problems since it opened between the Greens & homeless it started out as a hazmat.
You can thank the liberals who years ago eliminated the use of certain insecticides. That's why bed bugs are a national problem. The libs will tell you, like terrorism, bugs are something we just have to live with.

Most of the 1st Dist coppers are decent and don't lock up the infested homeless. Amtrak, UIC, Cook County Hospital Police, and the 12th Dist morons who drop their prisoners for processing in 001, couldn't care less. The processing room and Central D are a veritable zoo of pathogen carrying critters. It's bad enough that the sally port in 001 has to get the raw sewage vacuumed out of the sewer every morning.

Tell me, they roped off the front desk and closed the door to spray a few areas but the rest of the station is open. Is this safe? Closed to the public but not officers.

Just so we all know, cousin is an exterminator told me if they are using the heavy duty stuff you need to stay away from buildings for at least 24 hours!This stuff is poison as we all know and can get into air ducts, hopefully these people are certified! Dam who I am kidding friend of what politically connected "fill my pockets" goof! Call OSHA if you have to, so many coppers in older facilities got cancer and various other medical problems due to the lack of city maintenance, whose next??

Extreme exterminating should include CAPS.
There are rats in the 008th District CAPS office. In December of 2016 a woman crashed through the community room and where a window should be now, a board is mounted. Not 100% sure if it's to blame for the rat infestation it but sure doesn't help. Going on a year now and the City still hasn't fixed the window. McCarthy is gone but "broken windows" remain...at least in 008 it does.
I own some small apartment buildings. Bedbugs are a pain in the ass, but easy enough to kill if everyone cooperates.
Cimexa. Google it. Basically the stuff they put in packaging to keep it dry. Same for pill bottles. Same toxicity as table salt. Might make you sneeze. Bugs walk thru it and essentially cut themselves and dry out.

Heat is actually the best way to kill them, but try heating an entire apartment building up to 140 degrees plus for hours. Not easy and expensive.
