Those Pesky Homicides
Seems that the Johnson brothers are leading the city in homicides again this year....and 011 keeps increasing its lead, adding homicides from three months ago:
- The death of a 72-year-old West Side man, who died after a domestic fight nearly three months ago, has been ruled a homicide.
About 9:50 p.m. July 17, James L. Jefferies was involved in a fight in the 3900 block of West Arthington. A 61-year-old man struck Jefferies in the left eye and face, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

An autopsy at the time didn’t rule on cause and manner of death, with results pending further studies, but has since found he died of heart disease, according to the medical examiner’s office. Asthma and physical stress from the struggle were listed as contributing factors, and his death was ruled a homicide.
Even the senior citizens are whacking each other on the west side. Must be the youngsters rubbing off on them.

How can you expect to be protected when the mayor can not hire enough police to protect his own homeland? His family with the college counselor? I think the Johnson brothers deserve another Merit promotion for the great work they’ve been doing! (Cough, Cough, rolling my eyes.) Maybe that Situation Room Female Sgt. should step up her game?
The young and elderly are always the first culled from a herd by predators. Seems two legged predators do it too.
It's not really funny how some politicians want to disarm the herd.

Looking like my start of the year guesstimate of 650 murders is on track. Rahm is gonna be doing handstands at his end of the year presser.
The 21 year old girl killed on Hutchison by her boyfriend isn't being ruled a homicide because the boyfriend claimed it was an accident. He was released because the state's attorneys office wouldn't charge him even though there was a history of domestic abuse. looks like we might see a whole lot more accidental domestic killings if all you have to do is say "Oops it was an accident"

I'm seeing somewhat conflicting reports from news reports though. Was he 5 years old or 5 months old?
State doesn't want to charge because both momma and yes boyfriend said they didn't do anything. Very sad, child didn't have a chance. With either the "parents" or the state.

Remember once you have fulfilled your minimum obligation, you can move to another department. Chicago Police are not Serfs tied to the land of Chicago, although Rahm may treat you that way.
The Brothers Johnson must be bucking to be the Next Right Men for the Right Time™ with those numbers.

1: Keep you non police friends and life. Don't get walled in
2: Continue your outside interests
3: Continue your education. Get schooled in an adult way of making a living
4: Take nothing personal.
5: Enjoy and savor your time off. Furlo is always too short. And don't worry about missing some exciting action. The nonsense is never ending and limitless.
6: Caring causes stress. Avoid it. Take care of your body and mind.
7: It is never too early to start planning for your retirement. You really don't need a new car every few years.

If you want to be a police officer in Chicago, just go for it. Enjoy it and start with a good attitude and ignore all the negative comments. You are an adult and can make your own choices and decisions. Don't be jaded by all the negativity.
I'm retired now and had a great time on the job and made a lot of friends. Believe it or not when I came on the job in 1965 O.O. Wilson just entered the scene as a reformer suit. Guys said it's all over, he won't let you be a policeman, he's going to try and fire you and you won't get a pension. Guess what 52 years later I was a working police officer and retired with a pension
Will they inclufe those two in the count?

Why not be a patrolman in another city? My dad left Chicago and moved us to work at the California Highway Patrol way back in the 90's. No place is perfect but my dad said the writing was on the wall years ago for Chicago. Have you considered the departments in the suburbs?
The ME's default cause of death for most people over the age of 25 is atherosclerosis unless blatant evidence or circumstances otherwise....

Di Leo: The Modern Left and the New Death Penalty

It is well known that the modern Democratic party does not believe in the concept of capital punishment for crimes, even for the crimes long regarded as of a “capital” nature, such as murder, violent robbery, violent rape, and treason. They advocate jail time, preferably brief, in cozy, comfortable cells, of regulation size… and if there isn’t enough room, the Left mandates that the prisons be opened so the overflow can walk free, rather than be incarcerated for their crimes in harsh, uncomfortable surroundings.
But this isn’t to say that the modern Left opposes the death penalty completely. In fact, there are many whom the modern Left condemns to death, every day, though not in so many words.
Consider, for example, the children in the inner cities, shot in their yards or on their porches by the drive-by killers of the street gangs who rule their neighborhoods. Since it is the American Left who has redrawn the criminal justice system to invite in foreign villains, or to enable homegrown ones, by ensuring that even caught-and-convicted criminals run free, is it not the American Left who condemned these innocent children – sometimes hundreds per year – to a violent death, the tragic targets of the gang violence of Chicago, New York, Detroit, Milwaukee, and Los Angeles?
And what of their brothers and sisters, who survive their yards, their porches, and their neighborhood parks, but are endangered every day in the halls and classrooms of the public grammar schools, junior highs, and high schools of those same cities? No, not the magnet schools, or the charter schools, that win awards and save the lucky few who win the lotteries or have the right connections… but the regular schools, the taxpayer funded gang recruiting stations with names like “PS-101”… where they are beaten, or threatened, perhaps forced into a gang, or pushed into drug consumption or prostitution, or punished for refusing. Even those who physically survive all this are still likely to receive a substandard education, condemning them to lives in poverty, in public housing, in these dens of welfare checks and despair, and the early death of life in a crime zone.

Deferred Comp & Tuition Reimbursement.
Johnson bros are a poster children of exactly what is wrong with the bloated, clout based management of the CPD. If it wasn’t for this job many of the upper management would be pushing a broom somewhere.
Doing more with less may be a good concept for corporate America, but if the experiment goes terribly wrong like it has in shitcago, at least nobody looses their property, lifer limb.
