Carnage Continues
- A 16-year-old boy was shot Monday morning in the Lawndale neighborhood on the Southwest Side.
He was shot in the back at 11:38 a.m. in the 1600 block of South Drake, according to Chicago Police. Details on the circumstances of the shooting were unknown.
Expect more during this warm week.

Maybe the unsupervised youth could have had some oversight by a parental or guardian figure. The same person who collects free monthly checks for the well being of this youth including accepting the responsibility ensuring this youth attends school.
Back in the day, police could intervene with youths hanging out on the coners making themselves targets. But along comes those pesky aclu agreements requiring officers to follow ambiguous investigatory stop "reasonable suspicion" protocols to just stop this youth for truancy.
Officers are best to turn a blind eye with all the prohibitions to do common sense law enforcement. Blue shirts are fools to be proactive given all the bad things that could arise from the once simple act of intervenning in a child who has failed to attend school. ISRs, body cam footage, dash cam video, oversight by units to review reports are just a few examples of the nonsense that accompanies a simple act of reporting a truant. No thanks. The carnage will continue. The associated risks far outweigh the simple task of attempting to do even the simplest things.
Was he in a schoolyard? On his way to class? There was school yesterday, right?

LOL this will not happen for a generation at least, if ever. Not in Chicago at least. And, now with the democratic machine throwing retired cops to the wolves as far as health insurance is concerned, if you become or are an aggressive police officer you are a foolish person.
First question is why is a 16 year old out at 11:30 on a school night? Any question this might be gang related? Just asking?

Maybe he was a student with off-campus lunch privileges? Nah... the Grievance Patrol would have been out to remind the media that this budding young scholar was turning his life around, etc..
Best part of my night was hearing everyone talk about the blog, rock and my advice to who ever wrote it. We all know its true. Dont waste anytime posting about it. Nothing will change. That is how the department works.
