My daughter spent three of her high-school years in a Jewish-run school which had a security system at least as elaborate, if not more so, than the Fifth Third bank. Nobody minded. With the number of crazies out there, you do what you can to protect yourself.
What I don't understand is why the Archdiocese puts up with him.
So how is this enhanced security impeding people from patronizing these establishments? Clearly someone can still go into the bank, fast food restaurant, convenience store during business hours and do business. I don't live there, but I know that a lot of banks will have an electronic lock on the outside door that you can access with your ATM card to get into the vestibule to use the ATM more safely. This doesn't impede customers, just criminals.
Not too long ago, wasn't that very bank the scene of a take-over robbery and shootout from some phlock members?

If you actually travel to other countries you would see those types of doors all over banks in Europe. Those are common practice and very safe and deter any problems. YES you are correct. There is a requirement for double doors. But what 53rd had done is have separate door.
One set is for entry into the bank. Only 1 of the entry doors can be open at a time. Also the is a double exit door
that is separate from the entry doors. That too can only have 1 door open at a time. The separation is to prevent
someone from trying to start the exit out the exit door and then continue out the entry door. Only being able to
have 1 exit door open at a time will allow them to trap the robber in between the sets of doors.
BTW I think that it is a very very good idea.

The cardinal is never around and could care less about the people that built parish's since the 1800'. The phony ass priest is a Satanist following the rules from the Vatican. Whether it's an armed guard, double locking doors, teller barriers. Plus when a bank gets robbed, depositors often go elsewhere which also affects the bank negatively financially. This is just total b.s.
the 5/3 in oak park has had those double doors for about 2 years now. the bank got robbed while the security guard did nothing. havent been robbed since.

Having more police patrols in black neighborhoods is racist. It implies that black people commit more crime than white people and that their neighborhoods are not safe.
The Fifth Third branch in Evanston has that same door configuration. I believe it's a corporate standard. Though the downtown branch has regular doors.
