Referendum Nonsense

  • Questions on the ballot in Chicago on March 8, 2018:

1: Do you love puppies? 2: How about kittens? 3. Isn’t Mom great?

So, okay, maybe the three referendum questions really on the ballot aren’t quite so soft as that, but they’re close.

And if you wonder why, it’s because the people who control what gets on the ballot are happy to make a mockery of the democratic process when it suits their purposes. As Fran Spielman of the Sun-Times reports, they have stuck three utterly uncontroversial questions on the ballot — the most allowed — to crowd out any embarrassingly controversial questions. For them, it’s a game.
We attempted, many years ago, to throw together a referendum to reduce Chicago aldercreatures to a more manageable and comparable in number to New York City and Los Angeles. Our meager (and failed) effort was undertaken in mere weeks and garnered about 10% of the required signatures for the question to appear on the ballot. But even if we had gathered the required total, the Board wouldn't have allowed it on the ballot, instead substituting in three nonsensical questions, as Fran discovered they are going to do this spring:
  • 1. Do you support a comprehensive strategy to address the opioid and heroin epidemic?

    2. Do you think the state’s insurance code should be changed to preserve health care benefits for people who have signed up for the Affordable Care Act?

    3. Do you favor stiffer penalties for gun traffickers and a statewide ban on “bump stocks?”
None of which will lead to leaner, economically responsible, more efficient Chicago governance. But that's the point in the People's Socialist Republic of Chicago.

Here is how your typical Aldertard will answer these questions:

1. Do you support a comprehensive strategy to address the opioid and heroin epidemic?

Answer: Unlike Donald Trump, who has ignored the epidemic, we will bring awareness to the opioid crisis by marching in the streets with Father Phleger.

2. Do you think the state’s insurance code should be changed to preserve health care benefits for people who have signed up for the Affordable Care Act?

Answer: As long as retired cops don't have coverage, we are all for it.

3. Do you favor stiffer penalties for gun traffickers and a statewide ban on “bump stocks?”

Answer: Wall Street has a history of using 'bump stocks,' to supply the NRA with dangerous fire arms and rocket launchers. I will put forth legislation to put restrictions on Wall Street to prevent further rocket launcher violence in the ghetto.

My answers to the ballot questions:

1. Do you support a comprehensive strategy to address the opioid and heroin epidemic?

Hell no! Any so-called "Comprehensive Strategy" will be an un-godly clusterfuck that does nothing to address the issue and only punishes the law-abiding (see any "common sense gun control measures" for a prime example). Let Darwin work his magic. Self cleaning oven.

2. Do you think the state’s insurance code should be changed to preserve health care benefits for people who have signed up for the Affordable Care Act?

Again, Hell no! Most, if not all, that have signed up or Oblabla care were either forced into it when the policy they had was canceled because of Oblabla care or, are getting large subsidies at the expense of others. Burn it ALL down. Get government the hell out of health insurance. They fuck up everything they get their slimy tentacles on.

3. Do you favor stiffer penalties for gun traffickers and a statewide ban on “bump stocks?”

And once again, Hell no! Enforce the laws and penalties already on the books! We all know where the so-called "Gun Violence" problem communities are. Fuck the race-baiters like Kimisha, Phather Phuckhead, Jessie Jackass, etc. If these "People of Color" don't want to be locked up, then maybe they should start acting like civilized people instead of feral savages.

Californians seem to do these populist ballot propositions a lot better than we do in Chicago.

I'd like this proposition.

Do you support banning three time convicted felons from ever setting foot in the city of Chicago under pain of death?

Do you support using Singapore and Malaysia style punishment for hard drug traffickers, rapists and murderers (flogging and execution)

Do you support anti Trust actions to break up the Lb Leftist media mafia monopolies.

Do you support enforcing existing immigration laws and pursing a pro American, America First foreign policy?

Do you support making fake Christian Reverands and Priests (Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton, Father Faker) do one week of honest physical labor every year?

Do you support allowing teachers, principals and retired military veterans to publicly beat the arses of teenagers who wear their paints below their butts.

How about

Do you support $1 million dollars of your property tax money being essentially stolen by Mayor Rahm Emanuel via some bureaucratic procedure bullshit to be place into an illegal immigrant defense fund to fight the federal taxes you've already paid to enforce illegal immigration laws??

The Fed taxes us to enforce illegal immigration and deportation and Rahm taxes us to defend against it. WTF why are people standing for this?

It's not just $1 million dollars being wasted by the mayor. What's the multiplier the fed has to spend as Rahm floods the fed courts to protect the lawbreakers from deportation?

This Sanctuary City culture is not as virtuous as the Chicago liberal politicians make it sound.

They're not about 'the families" NO. They are about creating a slave wage culture like that Chicago bakery that makes buns for McDonalds that got busted. 800 employees one-third of their workforce unable to provide citizenship paperwork to legally work here.

The MSM putting the negative spin on it all. Oh it's hurting the company. Oh it's hurting jobs as the illegal immigrants are now out of a job.

How about the exploitation of these people with the substandard wages that make them live two, three, families in a small two bedroom apartment. The lost tax revenue from the slave wages. The depression of wages across businesses because "We support the Sanctuary City" culture.

They don't care about the families. This Sanctuary City bullshit is about corporate profits, depressing wages, creating poverty centers and victims for not only corporations to exploit but the street gangs as well.

" As Illinois muni debt continues to hover around all-time highs, the number of watchdog groups offering warnings about Chicago's deteriorating finances continues to grow. The latest such warning comes from Truth In Accounting which provided the Windy City an 'F' on their latest fiscal report card citing a staggering debt burden that amounts to $41,700 per Chicago resident. To put that figure in perspective, the median household income in Chicago is roughly $48,500.

ELMHURST, IL — Elmhurst Police have charged three suspects following an investigation of burglary and auto theft that occurred on Monday morning. The three suspects were found Monday after a manhunt involving several area police departments.

Through an investigation, police said they discovered that over 20 unlocked cars and several unlocked garages were entered in north Elmhurst to steal items of value and look for cars with keys in the ignition. One of the suspects apprehended was on parole and each of the suspects has prior criminal arrests.

Hey,Shannon from WBEZ, here's a clue. It's not gun violence. That term is straight out of the democrat playbook. Try something that more accurately described what's going on. Maybe lack of criminal accountability or punishment for a start. Do an expose on how many parolees continue the county wide catch and release program. Thug life rules in cook county because it's allowed!!! Anything for votes, including letting a superintendent continue in a job when he's let the murder rate double two years running. That's only partly his fault, as gmac signed the cpd death warrant with the aclu agreement and rahm and his old boss piled on with their "in depth studies" based on statistically insignificant incidents. Somebody's hurt feelings don't equate to all of the nonsense both "studies" "found."

The illusion of citizen participation in the actions taken by those empowered with the authority to impose taxations must be maintained.

Thus, elections are held, albeit with only ruling cabal candidates to choose from, and, from time to time, opinion poll type questions, coated with a thin veneer of fake authority, are presented.

Questions akin to: Do you like kittens or puppies?

Our city and county populace consists of 3 basic, essential to the continuation of the status quo, motivatives.......

Those who are employed by, and, thus, earn their income, nominally for some, and are motivated to avoid significant changes in those who rule.

Those who are provided with income, sans any work whatsoever, and are motivated to keep the free from working income flowing.

Those who use their control of tax expenditures to skim, scam and otherwise line their pockets.

Whoever is not described in the above 3 classifications is, by effective definition, the chump who pays......

The undesirable paying too much for too little experience is what could fuel a MAGA type effort here, were the quantity of the populace fitting the above three classifications not so large.

We tolerated the cheating until the quantity of cheaters, much like roaches, became too big to counteract.....

Time to call in the fumigation brigade.

Can retired police officers tell us/me if the Chicago Crime Commission is still in operation? I'm looking for some civilian organization that supports sensible, time tested law enforcement and opposes the agendas of BlackLiesMatter, the ACLU, Chicago's open criminal street gang organizations (LBJ era Lib Dems gave the Blackstone Rangers Gang $1 million in federal funding).

I remember when ex Chicago Police Chief Jody Weiss was briefly the head of the Chicago Crime Commission and then he stepped down for some reason.

The Chicago Crime Commission's "The Gang Book" ~ 2013 is excellent.

I want so much to be a part of something positive in Chicago that works to clean up Chicago the same way things were cleaned up until Mayor Guliani and the NYPD in the mid 1990s. Yeah, yeah the NYPD did the work, but they had overwhelming private citizen support to take back the streets of NYC from the punks, rapists, squeegee men and the race hustlers like Al (Not a Reverend) Sharpton?
