Another CCL Shooting?
- Around 6:15 p.m. Sunday, a 31-year-old man was leaving a store in the 1200 block of South Jefferson Street when he was confronted by a 34-year-old man who pulled out a weapon and demanded his belongings, police said. Once the robber swiped the property, the 31-year-old victim pulled out a gun and fired shots, hitting the would-be robber in the chest.
The 34-year-old was rushed to Stroger Hospital in critical condition. As of Sunday night, he was being held in police custody pending criminal charges.
This would put Concealed Carriers exactly one single shooting behind the Chicago Police Department, with a week left in the year. That should be a national headline. And we can only imagine the Maalox being chugged on the 5th floors of City Hall and HQ.

Happened in 001. The victim was handcuffed, no bs, the victim was treated like the offender. While the offender is recovering peacefully under police protection at Mercy. The world we live in.
Goofy Garr predicted the poleece would be shooting the honest, law abiding citizens exercising their constitutional rights. Goof!
We should have an award for this type of action by CCL persons shooting the bad guy's. Never mind, I spoke out of turn, I'm sorry.
l'm happy the victim of this heinous crime was a survivor. The Police can't be everywhere and crime is way out of control. If the political leadership and the department leadership would stop some of these factors that helped the growth of crime in Chicago these incidents wouldn't happen. To bad in the 1960's crime was far less and more people lived here. :(

Interesting event in 018 today. A woman goes to an atm and returns to her car where she is confronted by a west side shithead who promptly rips her out of the vehicle, jumps in and takes off . . . IN FULL VIEW OF 1820! Sgt puts out an emergency flash and gives chase after the asshole who is now playing catch me if you can while blowing stop signs at a high rate of speed. A short time later the urban mutant decides to ditch the vehicle and try his luck on foot but is taken into custody pretty quickly. Gotta say the Sgt did a remarkable job as well as responding officers but just one question; why wasn’t the car chase called off? Hmmm, now if that was a blue shirt instead of white . . . But really, see what competent, aggressive police work can do. Open your eyes all you stupid liberal fucks. Things are only going to get worse unless you take the cuffs off the police and put them on the bad guys where they belong.
No one wants to have to shoot these scumbag criminals.

Encourage your friends, family, and neighbors to get a FOID, a good handgun, training and a carry permit.
Next time - make sure the scene is CLEAR before calling anyone - robber coulda had friends. Clearing things can usually take about 10 minutes.... if the robber happened to expire during that time, oh well too bad for the robber. Gotta protect yourself against the packs of jackals running loose.

Way to go CCL holder. If the politicians had there way Illinois would still be the only state where you couldn't protect yourself. But then Illinois has been bringing up the rear for a long time. Except for crime stats and population loss. Could one possibly have some effect on the other?
The NRA needs to start giving out Straight Shooter awards for incidents like this. How about a reality reenactment TV show, called Sorry Please Don't Shoot or Bad Choices. Would be must watch TV.

The trib is now reporting that the offender has died, and that the victim has a "valid license to carry a concealed weapon from Indiana."
Uh Oh. Illinois recognizes no permits from other states, unless the CCL holder is in the car. Still, he's better off alive.

Tribune is currently saying his CCL is from Indiana. If that is correct it is no good in Illinois. Maybe he is a CCL holder of an ILLINOIS license who lives in Indiana. That story does not make that clear. Can we get some clarification since the Tribune cannot write a story that makes sense

Correct, but let me add my humble opinion, after seeing the scene is clear, think about leaving. Look what happened to this CCL guy, the police put him in cuffs and will take his gun. Catch me if you can, color me gone.
With a little more range practice, the criminal could have been a statistic on the quest for 700.

1:33, I have a couple questions for you.
Why encourage people to do all that, when the reality is all they have to do is exercise their Second Amendment RIGHTS?
What is with the begging for permission slips from government attitude?
What does that attitude serve except for a deterrent to so many, leaving them absent the tools they need when the many robbery examples we witness daily happens to them?
Would you apply those same ideas to someone you "encourage" to speak or worship or possess books?
When states can not, indeed shall not, make or enforce laws that abridge rights belonging tot he people, why support complying with those violations of our rights placed in code, much less urge others to do so?
If it was a Bible at issue, would you urge others to get the Bible ownership ID and their Bible Carry permission slip and then get "training" (every Sunday) that is required as a precondition to permission granted? Why or why why not?

Any supv can call off a chase. If no others did, ask them.
The city being the way that it is - I'm genuinely concerned that if I have to draw and pull my gun to defend myself, I'll do more time in jail than someone who is a repeat felon and lose my job in the process.

the fact that the citizen possibly illegally carried a concealed weapon in Illinois should not be confused with his act of self defense. He might possibly be charged with felony UUW but that does not make this a manslaughter or murder case. And, I doubt any court would convict him of UUW
The Rahm loving commander of 01 will hang the ccw holder out to dry. I’m sure Rahm and Bruce dold from the tribune are already working a story on increased gun control.
