Nice Campus Rahm
- DePaul University and Chicago police sent out safety alerts after six students were mugged within minutes early Thursday on or near the North Side campus and another victim was robbed on the Near West Side, apparently by the same robbers.
Four or five young men committed at least three robberies on or near the DePaul campus and another not long after on the Near West Side between about midnight and 12:40 a.m., according to police. The group used a white Audi SUV to get around, took out handguns and robbed the victims at gunpoint, according to a Chicago police alert.
Perhaps DePaul University ought to look into opening the city's first shooting range and start training students not to be victims.

DePaul does not have a police force... at 25 grand a quarter-- the students are not getting their money's worth.

College, being, for many, an extended version of high school, with much less parental scrutiny and much, much more sex, booze and sundries, along with the added benefit of believing this is what being an adult is, is the least likely place to find anyone, students, faculty, or neighborhood denizens, who have the slightest inclination to fight or flee.
Cooperation is their default choice of inaction.
The quicker they give it up, the sooner they can resume believing they are all grown up and living their dream.....

In 1968 while I attended Loyola University on the north campus they had a men's rifle team and a women's rifle team as part of their extra curricular activities. I would imagine they have been replaced by social justice warrior and snowflake clubs. Later working in that area we would get jobs with students being robbed or raped. The predators came up on the el and got off at the Loyala stop. Then they started moving into the Kenmore/Winthrop corridor where some students shared apartments. The young naive and idealistic students were an easy mark for the predators.

Let's also recognize the libs at DePaul who utterly refuse to allow their campus security to be armed. Loyola, the University of Chicago and every state school recognizes the need to have an armed security or police force and these are no bastions of conservatism.
End the bogus permission slip drama, end the ewually bogus gun free zone, and reward people who make citizens arrests, with double payouts for delivering room temperature muggers, rapists, thieves and murderers.

These may have not been robbies but rather retaliation. Recent budget cuts have slashed b-ball paid in full tuition scholarship and guaranteed affordable campus housing. Many aspiring scholar athletes want an equal opportunity under color of law and access to equal, fair athletics and free education.
Students have been pre-programmed to blame President Trump and are encouraged to join in like lemmings to seek social justice for those accused who have led lives of current and past discriminations. Students should rise up in a grass roots fashion for those "denied" their rights to eligible educational assistance for all prospective Blue AcaDemons. These are not crimes but rather protests seeking to equal the playing field and provide accesss to those who have been historically denied.
It’s just a property crime. No biggie. The kids can get a new cell phone, nickel bag, and shorts. They should be given a class on how to give up their stuff to get them used to the idea of being sheep.
The bad guys won't try that at Chicago State because:
The students there have no money.
The students there are better armed than the bad guys.
A good part of the student body lives in 19 and there are several campus facilities north of Fullerton. Yet no relationship with the 19th district. OK, 18 will solve all of their problems. Here’s your RD# kid.

The same problem exists at UCF in Orlando. The local news is reporting students are taking self defense classes. Concealed carry on college campuses should stem this problem.

Years back I purchased a Smith/Wesson model 681 that used to be an issued college police pistol. Many schools have disarmed their police for appearance purposes.
The impressionable students are conditioned to eat from their leftist professor's hand like a wobbly legged doe in a petting zoo. They make excuses for the violent offender and blame some xenophobic, patriarchal boogeyman system which is protected by racist thug police. A BA now isn't worth the paper its printed on. I often thought that the UIC Police were top notch.

I heard about this on the radio, one of the victims actually said she felt sorry for the offenders as its a sad world when people are so oppressed they have to turn to crime to get what they need. f/2 victim was interviewed.
Their “public safety” (liberal term for “campus police”) are unarmed because guns are, you know, bad and stuff. So car full of gun-toting, robbing Amish terrorizing other snowflakes encountered a highly tracing well-armed public safety officer. For the life of me I cannot remember any hardcore liberal professors I had in college back in the 70s. I guess there weren't any in the business school back then.
