The past few days have been hilarious, watching JB Pritzker founder and excuse his behavior on Federal wiretaps. But this takes the cake:
- Democratic governor candidate J.B. Pritzker issued a public apology Tuesday, saying he regretted remarks he made about African-American politicians with then-Gov. Rod Blagojevich during a 2008 discussion about filling Barack Obama’s U.S. Senate seat.
“I regret some of the things that I didn’t say and some of the things that I did, but my heart is in the right place — that I’ve tried really hard through the course of my life to do the right things for the African-American community and for communities across Illinois,” Pritzker said at a West Side restaurant, flanked by black elected officials including Secretary of State Jesse White, City Treasurer Kurt Summers and Aldermen Pat Dowell, Michael Scott and Walter Burnett.
“I’ve been better every day since,” Pritzker added.
The apology came as other Democratic governor candidates contended Pritzker’s comments tainted the billionaire’s candidacy and would jeopardize chances for a Democratic victory in the fall.
And the usual Machine politicians are lining up to bail out a foundering campaign:
- A day after Democratic governor candidate J.B. Pritzker apologized for comments he made about African-American politicians a decade ago, his campaign announced an endorsement from Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle.
The backing of Preckwinkle, one of the state’s most prominent black officeholders, was not much of a surprise, given that she’s vice chairman of the county Democratic Party that endorsed Pritzker months ago and even mentioned her support last October on “Chicago Tonight.”
What made it news was the timing, coming two days after the Chicago Tribune first published the recordings of the racially tinged talk between Pritzker and then-Gov. Rod Blagojevich. Since then, Pritzker has been working to keep African-American supporters from backing another candidate in the March 20 primary, and putting Preckwinkle out front is a move toward that end.
Remember, Prickwrinkle was booed at the Billiken parade for her soda tax. Backing a multimillionaire who was caught on tape ripping Emil Jones, Jesse and Obama's pastor doesn't seem like a smart move.

Is the Pritzker campaign instituting "Cash for Convicts" campaign? Will Pritzker be supplying ghetto hustlers with "precinct money", thousands of dollars per precinct to buy votes on election day?

I thought Jeanne Ives was the choice for me but check out her stance on the constitutional protections for public employee pensions. She has talked about how changing the provisions are needed to save the state and municipalities from bankruptcy. Are you ready to take a hit on your pension benefits? Rauner betrayed us, a RINO, Pritizger is a billionaire liberal who wants free health care, free college, and more free everything that would not be free for taxpayers. We, as residents of Illinois, will be getting shafted by any of the candidates currently in the mix.
But might these be the only truthful things we have heard him utter? Like so many politicians, he will not speak the truth in any public forum.

Rauner has about 8 different homes and bullshits about his residency to get his kid into a selective enrollment school. Pritzker yanks the toilets out of house he owns next to the one he lives in so he can get a break on his taxes. And we scrimp and save to keep our kids in parochial schools so they don't get molested, shot or killed. Pritzkker worries about underfed kids and decides to head up some non-profit to give them free breakfasts so they'll be successful in life. Maybe that's the key. Feed em junk , like some version of the Twinkie theory. JB looks to have cornered the market and Twinkie consumption.

Everyone that is applauding Jeanne Ives should take a look at her pension reform policy. Ives wants to rewrite the state constitution so the pensions that we’ve been paying into go bye bye. Don’t make the same mistake that was made when voting for the last contract. People sold out for a piece of a retro check, don’t sell out your retirement for a “funny” commercial. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying vote for JB or any other democrat, just be an educated voter. If Ives gets her way, we’ll all be living on cat food in our golden years.

Clinton won Illinois because of Cook County winning by almost 1 mil votes. Clinton lost 92 of the 102 counties in the state. It sure seems like almost 90% of the state liked what Trump had to say. Cook County, the "shithole" of the state, carried the traitorous bitch to the state win.

Yes, she has a couple good ideas, so did Rauner, Quinn and Thompson.
But please, do some homework:
#1 reason to shy from Ives -
• Rep J. Ives is on record for across the board Pension Reform, i.e. NO CONSTITUTIONAL PROTECTION (Diminish or Impair) TO KEEP DEMOCRATS FROM RAIDING, REDUCING OR ELIMINATING POLICE/FIRE PENSIONS as well as all government employee pensions by Renegotiating the term plans with current employees and retirees.
This State is in terrible financial and spending shape, doling out Entitlements and big government expansion with no end in sight.
Ives like so many others fail to mention entitlement spending, unless it involves the entitled Earned Pension expenses.
Rauner has and appears to be true on his word, that he will Never Alter the First Responder Pensions.
Leave it up to Democrats, Rahm and Co to raise the contributions and have his Board diddle into our assets.
We can’t win until Democrats are audited and jailed.
Rauner is the least terrible option.
His presence makes it hard for Madigan/Cullerton to fuck us. Gridlock is our friend.
Ives wants your pension.

That commercial is hilarious. The dude in drag reminds me of Boy George. She's got my vote in the primary.
As for Pritzker and Blago, I found myself in agreement with what was said on the tape. Jesse White is considered "safe" because he has reached out beyond his community, and showcased kids within his community in a very positive light. The African Americans who have made a good living working for the Secretary of State's facilities may disagree that he hasn't done anything for the AA community. Blago and Prtizker were right about that spot controlling thousands of good paying jobs with benefits.
I love hearing all these crook county comments, but if you spend any time in ANY other illinois counties, you will meet and see many people that are not pritzker fans. If it weren't for crook county the republicans would own this state, as it should be.

With regard to the pensions it's crazy to think they can be sustained under the current system. With all the chatter about getting out of the state, who then is going to fund those pensions. i work for the state as a Tier II employee and I saw the writing on the wall. I have whats called a self managed pension which is basically a 401 plan. I get my money every 2 weeks and it goes into a Fidelity Fund, never to be touched by the state again! So, as we say on the front lines, "I got mine"!
Between piss poor Rauner and hateful/inciteful Ives, I predict here and now that Biss will walk away with this election hands down.
There will be no Republican governor in the next election. Thank Rauner's poor performance, and thank Ives divisive ads. They don't play well to the majority of voters, which will come from Cook County.
