Special Ed Loses His Mind

  • Don’t count on running into Chicago police Superintendent Eddie Johnson at your local multiplex to catch a screening of the Chicago-set remake of “Death Wish.”

The Bruce Willis movie is “not the type of narrative we want for our city,” Johnson said Friday, criticizing MGM for releasing the violent revenge fantasy so soon after the killing of Chicago police Cmdr. Paul Bauer in the Loop.

“It’s unfortunate,” Johnson told WLS-AM 890’s Bill Cameron on Friday when he was asked about the timing of the release of the movie, which opens with the downtown killing of a police officer. “But of course I don’t think Hollywood really pays attention to that type of thing.”
Hollywood is a business Ed. Movies are planned and filmed a year, sometimes more in advance. Publicity screenings, posters, press releases, tours...Rahm's brother could explain it all to you, but they don't really care about local conditions seeing as how they're running a world-wide empire.

And what does a four-time felon murdering Commander Bauer have to do with a remake of a doctor who suffers a family loss at the hands of a recidivist criminal and embarks on a path of revenge when the justice system fails him? Is this somehow going to inspire Mrs. Bauer to take up arms and start executing criminals? She could run for mayor on a platform like that. Unless you're admitting that the release of violent criminals without adequate punishment onto Chicago streets might actually be a bad thing, despite what Dart, Prickwrinkle, Evans and Rahm are telling everyone?

Side note: Critics are panning this remake, with something like a 15% positive rating on assorted sites. However, test audiences are giving it an 80% positive rating, and many are calling it a "must see" revenge flick. We're all for seeing the guilty punished along more biblical lines.

Demographics, Ed.
The majority of the country feels wronged
and wants some sort of revenge, as the System
is a beast existing for itself: witness the Trump election.
The city used public funds to entice the film company to
Chicago. Wruce Billis works where he's told. You can
always sell your promo tickets. Maybe Dart could use

I took the family on Saturday and we Loved It. Naturally, we saw it in the suburbs, where we do most of our entertainment and shopping. Remember that these first came out with Charles Bronson when society was becoming sick of the increased crime, which followed the late 60s to early 70s, democrat/leftist "criminal justice reforms." This same period brought us Dirty Harry and other similar classics. Let's hope this movie and others helps remind society who are the real good guys and who are the real savages that; thieve, beat, robb, burglarize, rape and murder, and then claim racism andpolice brutality to escape justice.

Maybe with the Vegas shooting, Time Warner

of another building. Think of the bread you could make in
the lawsuit.

Critics are the proverbial wannabe artists who lack the necessary talent. Woefully.

Plus, consumed by the never to be satified craving for personal significance, which they shall never be worthy of, pandering to the perceived popular point of view is all they have to work with, since their being devoid of actual talent leaves quite the empty cavern.

It's always been a problem for the critics, ya know, that most people actually do think for themselves.

I went and saw it at the earliest opportunity and I would give it a positive recommendation. What must make Special Ed and Rahm fume is the fact that the screenplay incorporated plenty of material from actual Chicago headlines into the movie. The low homicide clearance rate is referred to in the movie. Additionally, the film used several familiar talking heads from television and radio to make the production look authentic.

Forget the critics. Audiences responded to the film over its opening weekend. "Death Wish" earned almost half of its production cost after its delayed premiere. It is not a bad film. The acting is good and it depicts Chicago fairly well.

Liberals and their Democrat minions will be the death of society as we know it. We are not to far away from open carry and fast draw in the streets. The war is coming whether you all want to admit it or not. With over 300 million guns in this country there will be blood in the streets. TO ILLINOIS HOUSE FLOOR FOR VOTE:
HB 1469 – Amendment 1 Bans the sale, purchase, transfer or possession of any gun magazine over 10 rounds and the use of body armor (applies to all gun owners; even retired law enforcement or military veterans). Use of body armor in the commission of a crime is already illegal. This bill criminalizes the lawful possession of body armor – used by Range Safety Officers, Security and Armored Car personnel, convenience store clerks who have a high expectation of robbery, EMT’s going into bad neighborhoods, and on and on. A ban on possession means confiscation of every >10 round magazine – rifle or pistol.
HB 772 – Creates the Lethal Order of Protection Act to allow family members to petition the courts to have citizens be labeled a “danger to themselves or others” just for owning a firearm. HB 772 would cause the surrender of your FOID card, CCL, and all firearms without notice or due process. Afterwards you can then hire a lawyer and try to get them back.
Please call your state representative and urge him/her to oppose these. Contact Info for your legislators is here

TO THE ILLINOIS SENATE
HB 1465 – increases age to purchase or possess rifles to 21. Say goodbye to most youth shooting leagues unless sanctioned by the International Olympic Committee or USA Shooting. And 18-20 year olds may no longer defend themselves with a Modern Sporting Rifle (AR15 etc).
HB 1467 – bans sale, purchase, transfer, or possession of bump stocks and trigger cranks. The other side listened to our objections to the original bill and amended it to permit gunsmithing.
HB 1468 – increases waiting period on rifles to from 24 hours to 72 hours.
SB 2314 – Grants municipalities authority to regulate possession and ownership of “assault weapons,” taking authority away from State of Illinois and returning us to a patchwork of firearms laws with respect to transportation and storage.
SB 3297 – Bans the transfer of “assault weapons,” .50 caliber firearms, and large capacity magazines of more than 10 rounds.
SB 3298 – Requires local law enforcement agencies to approve concealled carry licenses (in addition to the IL State Police).
Please call your state senator and urge him/her to oppose these bills. Contact Info for your legislators is here

Did no one in the Chicago movie office ask to see script? I lol when I saw movie and wondered why and how they made this movie under your noses. I am an ex-Chicagoan and follow the cities downfall everyday on SCC. Talk about bad publicity for the city this is exhibit #1. Sadly many tourists will say it's just a movie, and visit Chicago, not knowing how bad things downtown really are. I gave the movie a 85% grade not as good as the first one but loved the city connections.

I want a personal bodyguard with weapon and a city car to drive me from place-to-place too, without worrying about the riffraff, paying the costly parking charges, or walking anywhere along our besieged city's sidewalks.

First step in "fighting crime" would be for Rahm to relinquish his team of bodyguards, and drive a car himself, just like us regular folks forced to deal with the street-crime.

I'm surprised the body-armor on Bauer's killer hasn't been a bigger story. A conspiracy-buff would ask whether there's more to this particular shooting at City Hall mid-afternoon on a very busy downtown street.

Gun-grabby Ed missed an obvious chance to criticize Hollywood's hypocritical glamorization of violence, and ask whether that sort of thing has any effect on various and sundry bad behavior that he and his puppetmasters are constantly trying to exploit to take away honest citizens' rights. If, you know, they actually cared about safety or 'the children' or whatever and weren't just doing it to gain power and money at someone else's expense. But of course not, since guns are only bad when in the hands of little people who didn't get 'discovered' by the talent-agency racket or start dubious wars in exotic lands because two Ivy League ring-knockers in the alphabet soup are having a penis waving contest.

The sooner voting citizens finally grok what the government-infotainment complex is really all about, the better...

"For the safety of the entire movie production cast and crew 99 percent was filmed in Canada..."

A sufficient amount of location shooting took place in Chicago to give the movie a degree of authenticity and local color. As for film productions utilizing Canadian locations, it is a matter of economics. $1.00 from the USA is worth $1.30 in Canada, plus the production companies do not have to comply with the extortionate union rules that apply in Chicago (same as McCormick place where it takes a team of electricians and Teamsters to plug in an extension cord).

Hollywood is constantly shifting productions to Canada to save money. Vancouver seems to be a popular substitute location for many programs and movies. "Death Wish" included substantial days of film shot in Montreal.

Great movie......hits a bit too close on the ass end, though, given the base premise, of anger insanity induced by a perfectionist nature experiencing the imperfection of reality, unavoidable.

Still, worth watching a couple dozen times, just as a, though fictional, still practical reminder of just how tightly wound one can get, seeking one's own, self defined and self satisfying perfect reality.

Though exagerated a bit, the Michael Douglas character cannot see his own tunnel vision is what vexes him into his, shall we say, epic quest.

Is there such a thing as a Whammy Burger??? Let alone Whammy Fries????

Ed, sometimes it best just to shut the fuck up. Like all the time. The only thing that would give your tenure as the sup credibility would be to stand up and admit that your wife and those associated with NOBLE cheated on the LT test. If there was no cheating, Eugene Williams would never have retired. He is too arrogant, the only reason he left was to avoid the backlash. Too bad be didn't realize how useless and corrupted Ferguson is. Couldn't find his ass with both hands. They should just rename Chicago the killing fields and be done with it.
