Body Cam Footage
- Newly released body camera video shows an intense scene unfold as Chicago police officers responded to a hostage situation at a Near West Side apartment building that ended with a sergeant shooting and wounding the suspect.
The city’s police disciplinary agency, the Civilian Office of Police Accountability, has posted the footage on its website two months after the shooting took place about 6:20 p.m. on April 11 in the West Town community.
A police report provided by COPA alleged that Marcos Malvais, 19, dragged a woman to a bathroom in the basement of a house on West Washington Boulevard near North Hoyne Avenue and held her at gunpoint.
We gotta say, the cops did an amazing job in a high stress, fast moving situation with a woman's life at stake. Well done.

Great Job by the Sgt. Copa should not be allowed to plaster his name all over the web. The fop has to prevent this from happening in the future.

Stellar job CPD!!!
Reality tv at it's finest, dope dealers are now the new ghetto victims...
May the good Lord bless and keep our police safe in this crazy world.
"...Look at the patches on there shirts..."
Ok Sparky. It is either "their shirts" or if you are from the 'Ville, it is "them there shirts".
Is it true that CHA Central officers never got out of the car, and that the armed security from West Haven assisted the Sgt.

It would be PBPA....and COPA does not have to abide by our contract. Only the city.
They are the security guys. Only CPD there was the sarge. That’s the body cam of the private security officer
Great Job by the Sgt, leading the charge and taking care of the troops. Other supervisors can learn a thing or two from this guy.
Is that the Securitas Rangers going all Delta?
He’s actually one of the few great Sgt’s to work for on the watch. Very knowledgeable, professional and personable with the throops! Thank God he is safe and sound and still with us!
Is the SGT a FOP member? Maybe you meant that the Sgt's Union "should prevent this from happening".
They got Emanuel while he was trying to Lunch with his wife and corporate friends. If it weren't for their anti-cop stance, this would be too funny. Still nice to see the little skunk have to lift up his tail, whip out his scent and split:

Who’s the other agency on scene?
Is the community of occurrence any safer?
Have the feral urban predators there abandoned their illegal guns, drugs, changed their behaviors and income sources?
Those poleeces instigated that boy to trip out. They need to mind they bidness.
“Alleged, according to”...yada-yada-yada, video “provided by COPA” (fade to black).
Apparently COPA owns the rights, not only to the video but the entire incident, the investigation, the prosecutorial opinion and a final outcome is still pending.
Police acted accordingly to the situation - but COPA doesn’t mention that, nor Rahm or LoEnergy Special Ed.
There is no need whatsoever for anyone to release and offer up quip versions and explanations, especially when it’s for political points and otherwise, to justify the biased civilian headhunter outfit.
As far as Cook County is concerned, it’s a community indiscretion well deserving a restoration of justice.
Ain't no pity in Sanctuary City.
Nothing changes but the life of the unforgotten First Responder.

Those kids are nothing but democratic hacks, bet the parents got paid off well to sell their kids into democratic slavery! Sorry it happened but these "children" with their minds full of mush are easily manipulated just looking for a payday!
Give these officers the key to the city!!!!!!
Devil's advocate, he didn't have no gun, it was planted. He was running away because he was scared. They should have retreated and waited for a negotiator. Only surprise here is no bail.
Does FatHeadEd have more questions than answers?
Who are the uniform guys with the funky looking shoulder patches?
a Naperville police Sgt rescued a toddler who was running alone on busy Route 59, according to authorities.
Police posted dashcam footage of the May 10 incident on its Facebook page Monday.
The video taken from Sgt. Anthony Mannino’s dashcam shows the officer stopping near Route 59 and Gowdey Road, just north of Aurora Road. The 2-year-old boy is running south on Route 59 along the right lane, steps away from passing motorists in the center lane. At one point in the video, a large truck passes just a few feet from the boy, who appears to veer toward the center lane of traffic.
Mannino stopped his squad car in the right lane, keeping the lane clear of traffic, and then ran up to the child while shouting at him to stop and “come here.” The boy runs away from the sergeant, prompting the officer to sprint after the boy south along Route 59.
After about 30 strides, Mannino catches the child, according to the dashcam footage. “You’re OK, you’re OK,” Mannino calmly tells the boy as he grabs him. Mannino then alerts dispatch that he has him and would begin searching for his parents. The last comment heard in the dashcam footage is Mannino asking the child his name.
According to a Naperville police spokesman, the boy ran out of his mother’s home when she wasn’t looking. The child was out for only a matter of minutes before Mannino spotted him. The mother was not charged as the incident was deemed an accident, the spokeman said.
As a result of his role in the rescue, Mannino received the Naperville Police Department’s Life Saving Award last week, according to the post.
great work Sgt Mannino you are not only a credit to the naperville police dpt but all police officers of our great nation. unfortunately had this happened on the cpd there would been no life saving award just a cr number issued by special ed for some nonsense and then lori ( yes i do hate white people) lightfoot would be trying to figure out how much suspension time to give, to you. regardless a big congrats and im glad the child is safe n ok.

Shocking, a white trash hillbilly in a trailer. Didn’t see that one coming. Good to see her arrested though. It would be nice to see her run her mouth like that to your average citizen, then watch them beat her ass. Dumb bitch trailer trash.
As a civilian, I pray for blue every day. Stay strong lads and lassies, and stay safe. If that means go fetal, so be it.
Shit that video scared the hell outa me!
You would have to have balls of steel to be these coppers!!
How could you train for that if you are not X-MILTARY?
Some badd-ass mother fuckers right there now! Just sayin.....!!
The worst part is the victim will sue and the offender will sue and the city will pay.
Well done Sgt. Glad that all the good folks not looking for trouble are OK too and hope that the victim of the assault is recovering in every way.
Looked like a horror movie scene when the woman got “snatched” into the room!
These videos are studied harder than the zaputer film🤔.
I think it"s telling that when CPD does well the video is released 60 days later but when there are more questions than answers a video gets into the mainstream in 24 hours.
Just saying.
Was looking at heyjackass and couldn’t help but notice 6.6% of murder victims race is unknown. Is that a legit stat or just to keep the appearance of somewhat of a balance?
Other guys were private civilian security for some of the housing in the area.

LMFAO sure did! Thanks for the laugh, that was a good one
The Sun-Times used the better video, which was the one in color from the sergeants camera. It also showed the woman being dragged. If you noticed, the Tribune used the one that did not depict the dragging. And even stated in their article that a report "alleged" that the woman was dragged. As if it didn't occur.
“How could you train for that if you are not X-MILTARY?”
I hate to break the news to you, and this isn’t to detract from the service of our veterans, but you do realize that most of the “military” has no experience in urban combat dynamics. They learn to disassemble and reassemble their rifles in boot camp and basic marksmanship. Most of the military are not combat experienced; they are mechanics, cooks, engineers, and any of the other jobs that provide vital mission support.
Having served in the Army and deployed in combat and now working as a city police officer, I assure you that cops in the city experience far more “combat” than 99% of military servicemen and women.
May God watch over our soldiers and first responders.
Why does Susan R. STIEGLER (F/W/41) call herself "ChiTown Sue"? She should use "Justice (SW suburb) Trailer Park Sue".
How about her female accomplices "Denise Lynn" and "Pink Camera Magic"?
They're just trolling for a ghetto lottery lawsuit against the police. Ignore them, their foul mouthed expletives and cell phone camera unless they commit a violation of a law or ordinance.

I am not at all surprised by his professionalism. This is a Sgt who has had the respect of his officers despite the fact that Bubblehead liked him. A rare accomplishment in 012.
This Sgt is an example of a supervisor that should be a merited pick for Lt, not the current batch of cheaters and balless hacks ruining this department...

You picked an interesting case to get upset about. She was an innocent woman tragically, and accidentally killed while the police were dealing with an armed assailant. This is one of the very few cases where an innocent person was killed by the police. If anyone should get a settlement, it's her family. This isn't a case of the ghetto lottery or suicide by police or an attacker being killed in self defense. I'm sure her family does miss her. Save your outrage for when it's actually warranted. How much is an innocent life of one of your family members worth?

Boy, you really had to jump through a shit load of hoops to compose that comment.
Life. So complex, so complicated, so..... Vexing.
And the presumptions of the presumptious..... Why, it's almost as if we're not intended to enjoy being alive.
And it's almost like we're not owed compensations when we experience anything that we do not enjoy.
Why, how could it possibly be possible that we're not entitled to be compensated when something inherently and essentially inevitable occurs?
The most amusing aspect of some human perspectives is when, (based, apparently, upon the belief that life less than enjoyed, less than as many years as possible, less than guaranteed satisfying...), someone expresses the thought that "he/she left too soon", aka " died before their time", "didn't deserve to go that way", etc.
As if some humans choose their existences to be entirely illusional, thoroughly imbued with confidence that all that they see around them cannot possibly effect them in a displeasing, let alone deadly, manner.
And your use of the word "outrage" is so delightfully deceptive.
Plus your certainty that money, lots of money, will offset those of the victim's family who, most assuredly, will "miss her".
Your illusions are strong, as you need them to be.
So many will think that this victim was in the wrong place, at the wrong moment, which is, in this way, true, since being in that spot, at that moment, ensured she would not continue to be alive.
Well, guess what?
Every body experiences this.
Every body will be in the wrong place, at the wrong time and will die.
Is there such a thing as being in the right place and at the right time to not die? Sure. It's called every other place, and every other time that you did not die.
The base outrage that all humans exprience is that we live knowing that we will die, and we don't like that. Not one bit. Until, of course, the experience of being alive becomes more painful than pleasurable by magnitudes, then we yearn, not to die, but to not suffer.
So, save your her family is suffering and trunkfulls of cash will ease their pain bullshit for your own illusions.
.
How much is an innocent life of one of your family members worth?

No one in my family, even the most lacking in thinking ability, would be anywhere but far away from any interactions between a lunatic and an armed police officer. And certainly, even for the few less imbued with brains, not directly behind the two.
The victim, innocent of criminality, was guilty of dumb.
To place herself directly behind the very lunatic the police were called to deal with was dumb.
If she saw the officer in front of said lunatic, (how could she not?), than, double that dumb.
Whatever her motive for not getting the fuck out of the event scene, an event which was dynamically occuring, she put herself in the peril from which she ended up dead.
When the police are called and arrive, get the fuck out of their way.
Ya wanna watch them, video them, eyeball them? Sure. Go right ahead.
When you make yourself part of the events, you take your chances of becoming a remnant of the events.
In that part of this big titty of a city, Duck & Cover ain't limited to that feeble warning of yesteryears, nor is it limited to the instinct experienced by those inhabitants quite familiar with the local riff raff popping off rounds whenever, so, unless the idiotic thought of the police having the awesome power to insure their bullets are magical, and will only, always, strike the intended target, when the police arrive....
Get the fuck out of their way.
Stay the fuck out of their way.
Mind your own business.
You can hoop an' holler' later.
The victim, innocent of criminality, was guilty of dumb.

Best post ever. Unfortunately, $16 million will be reasonable to some morons. I often feel like in a bad dream. Like we can’t seriously be this stupid as a society.
