That statement made an impression on me, the CPD runs it not some assholes on 47th st. It's really sad, the new police bosses are afraid and have made a decision to endanger not only the citizens living in that area, but people driving through or doing business.

Seems to be embellished a little, especially in those days. Constantly interrupting a deputy chief. Never happened. In those days you only could interrupt a deputy once and you would be gone. Also worked in the 60’s, different time. Been through the MLK riot, democratic convention, Division street riot and a few more and never saw any police afraid of going into any bar or neighborhood

This department is gone...
That really happened, I think it was 70/72, and the jagoff interrupting the meeting was given a lot of slack. And finally removed and disciplined. Back then District bosses were payed off by the tavern owners and everyone had some type clout. So the mission was to have Task Force officers and personnel from other districts to really get the numbers right, by checkin who was cheating on their liquor license. They feared us, and respected us in return, we ran it, period.........

Police officers should make premise checks and write up all license violations .
Someone is getting paid , don’t you think ?
Gov.Rauner should send in Illinois State Police and License investigators and shut down all taverns ,clubs that sell liquor that are not properly licensed . Start in the 7th and 10thDistricts .

Something like hands off is a stupid idea, it came from the Mayors Office. He doesn't need another police shooting, remember its election time for tiny dancer.
