A New Low

You know a turkey leg costs about $2.00? Cook it and flavor it up, it'll be a bit more. A Bic lighter is a bit cheaper, yet some people won't even spend the dollar:
  • Two people are dead, and two others were wounded Friday in shootings on the West and South sides, Chicago police said.

    [...]

After a dispute over a lighter, a 23-year-old man was shot in the left leg around 6:20 p.m. in the Chatham neighborhood, police said. He was taken to Jackson Park Hospital in good condition. The man he was seen arguing with fled the scene on a yellow ten-speed bike, police said.
But phather phleger is marching on the Dan Ryan for what again? If you have the slightest inkling that shooting someone over a lighter that costs fifty cents or so, we have some bad news for you:
  • the police aren't the cause of all your problems
Sorry to burst your bubbles. Time to go out and find a job, make a living, take some personal responsibility for your existence and any of your spawn.

Too bad this is not that easy. No one wants to know the truth in the ghetto. Personal responsibility is only part of it.

The community needs more jobs, more programs etc etc etc etc etc etc etc. Fucking hilarious. More wealth is poured into the “community” than any other area. Yet its always someone elses fault. Gotta run. Im gonna go shoot my neighbor because he is cutting his lawn.

Employers are in need of people at all skill levels. Even with let's say a GED and maybe some questionable background, you can still find good jobs. But the lack of responsibility on the part of the employee is what will ensure the battle cry of "we need jobs" will continue.

Eddie Johnson was front in center in the protest?! What else is left of this once proud police department? The National news were all over this protest. They won today. I fucking give up.

In ancient times we got called to guard the crime scene in an apartment in the Juneway/Jonquil jungle (024). Two brothers were making dinner got into an arguement over who was going to eat what and then one stabbed the other to death. The food was still cooking when we got there. So the story always remains the same but the players change.

I'm 66 years old and have been reading about these small insignificant disputes ending up with someone dead as long as I have been able to read or turn on the tv. I don't watch sports, I read business news and instead of comics, read about the ghetto disputes over nothing that end up with a fatality. Nothing has changed over the years: music too loud, lights on, last piece of sausage eaten, fiddy cent lighter, nothing changes, nothing is learned. Ever. Keep on killing each other, I'll keep on reading eating my oatmeal and planning how I'm going to spend my wonderful day alive and well and a free man.

It’s real simple do not give a dime to the criminal Catholic Church. Stupitch and Fleger want to be politicians let them bury themselves. Vote with your wallet let the drug dealers take care of them. Why do you think Pleager didn’t shut down the dope corners where the shooting is going on? They are his flock.

"Employers are in need of people at all skill levels. Even with let's say a GED and maybe some questionable background, you can still find good jobs..."

Yup...EXACTLY! I'm in workforce development (translation: "I advocate for low - income people with barriers to get jobs"), and there is no reason that even someone with felony/low education/few work skills barriers can eventually access GOOD and HIGH - PAYING work. There are many successful programs, especially in the manufacturing field (there are about 25,000 UNFILLED skilled manufacturing jobs in Illinois, employers are begging for good workers!) to get peeps up and running and into a self - sufficient life. Is it hard to get your GED, to upgrade your math and reading skills, to assert some self - discipline and take personal responsibility? YES, it is, but I've seen so many successes...ex - prisoners and low - life types decided to get up off of their duffs, stop feeling sorry for themselves, and GET A JOB and GET A LIFE. They are now responsible tax - paying homeowners, very successful citizens. The problem is, so many in our society want an "easy answer", they also have severe entitlement issues, they do not understand the process of working hard to achieve a worthwhile goal. We've also created a very corrosive "culture of dependency", this now spans generations...too many are content to play the role of "victim"...anyways, thanks for letting me vent!

Thos 'flip-open' lighters would be Zippos. Walmart sells the 'classic' satin finish Chrome Zippo for only $11.01. But they can get more expensivedepending on the finish and then if you get it engraved. I have two Chrome Zippos with my initials engraved the most expensive is the Filigree Finish, Venetian #352, my wife bought me for one of our anniversaries. (www.zippo.com)
--- With my engraving it cost about $50.00 iirc.
--- The most expensive Zippo I just found on their website is 18 Kt Solid Gold, $11,893.95.
--- There's a model that's more reasonable: Armor High Polish Sterling Silver, $251.32
And yes, that is worth fighting over.

This was one of the most disgraceful spectacles I have ever witnessed. If anyone thinks this is going to make things more peaceful or bring “jobs” to the south or west sides I’m afraid they will be sadly disappointed. The shame and disgrace of this whole thing is that the “planners” know this to be the case. Shame on all responsible.

Isn't amazing that only guns in certain neighborhoods and communities are so aggressive? I can't figure it out.
States like Montana Georgia and South Carolina have way more guns per capita then Chicago, and yet they have far less problems.
Wonder what the difference is?

So the community is showing disrespect and ignoring the call for a peaceful, civil society?
That’s just plain old, down right nasty. The nerve of the ingrates.
Mmm-mm-mm.

In light of the recent DanRyan ExpressYourSelfOurWay March for Peace and Reunion...
I’d like to prospose a self-initiated District Patrol Officers Survey.

Upon completion of the Arrest process, please ask the arrestee(s):

“Did the Dan Ryan Protect March on the 7th of July, 2018, affect your decision to commit the act that led to your arrest?
Check the appropriate box.
Yes ___
No ___

On the 1st of every month, submit these survey results through the Chain of Command with a copy to City Hall, Aldermen, Mayoral Candidates, The Governor, FakeNews Media outlets and the Catholic Archdiocese.

Concerned taxpayers really need to know how effective these unlawful peaceful protests marches are and to what affect they have on the future.
Thank you for your participation.

When Phathead Pfleger starts preaching against single parent homes, drug abuse, dropping out of school at age 14 and advocates learning self-control, taking personal responsibility for one's life and the outcomes of one's choices and getting off the government dole, then he won't have to shut down the Dan Ryan to protest "violence."

Sheet, that wasn't just any ole lighter - that shit was passed down for three or 4 generations... carried by ole Jeff Fort and his minion JJ... worth killing someone over? You bet... ya'll get street cred for carrying that thing. Pull it out in any circumstance, and it holds power over all who see it!

This story and the Dan Ryan shutdown protest have convinced me that we must be serious about providing the resources the community needs in order to address violence. This means widespread distribution of free lighters for those in need of a light. And not just cheap Bic lighters, but quality Zippo lighters like all the folks on the North Side have.

There, who says we don’t care about the needs of the South and West Side communities!

They didn't just win today, they keep winning, in the negative sense, because the democ"RATS" keep letting them do whatever they want without any "CONSEQUENCES" whatsoever! The SA refuses to prosecute. The judges I-bond or give low ridiculous insulting bonds to "POS" killers, robbers and sex offenders! The jagoff at the jail gives them pizza and bonds more of them out and they cut the "balls" off the cops because the latest boy scout got killed! Then you have Fr. Faker trying to get BARABUS released and leaving Jesus to rot on the cross! How is a march going to stop these people and folks, who have no value for life or morals, from picking up guns? Oh more laws and making it harder for everyone else to get guns will fix it! Just like its stopped the drug's and the alcohol during prohibition. I say let everyone have a gun and lookout motherfuckers!!
